  1. This my attempt at building a model of the Hendrick Garage 56 NASCAR Camaro that raced at the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is based on a SalvinosJR kit. ALTERATIONS & ADDITIONS Front splitter extended Rear diffuser extended and two strakes added Front grills from a diecast Headlights fabricated Tow rings front and rear Rear warning light Cut in NACA ducts on rear fenders Removed Cup fuel tank and filler location Fuel filler mounted in right side rear window Fabricated fuel tank and piping mounted midships Eliminated bump draft bumpers Roof fins Aluminum exhaust tips Seat belts Hood pins Photo-etched windshield wiper Roll cage padding Two information panels ahead of steering wheel Flexible window net Tamiya Bright Blue and Satin Black Homemade Ink Jet decals using adapted Internet images SALVINOS JR GARAGE 56 ADDITIONAL PARTS BY JIM ROGERS Front dive planes Rear canard wings Side Mirrors Side valance flares Taillights Electronics Panel Steering wheel Rain tires CONCLUSION I really enjoyed this project and its challenges I am pretty satisfied with the resulting model I am very impressed with this SalvinoJR kit and its designer Jim Rodgers I now have a much better understanding of the NASCAR NextGen cars
  2. Great looking Red Bull. I like the way you posed it with the Tamiya model. The scale difference is not apparent.
  3. This will be the last update before moving to Under Glass hopefully next week. Here you can see the Goodyear rain tires with their appropriate white lettering. I removed most of the bump draft bumpers as was done on the Garage 56 Camaro to reduce weight. I was not able to find out the configuration of what was done in these areas but in the only view I saw with the trunk open there still was some structure behind the main frame,
  4. Gorgeous model of a gorgeous car. MOMO was my favourite livery on the 333SP. I have the Perry's Resin 1/24 kit with a different MOMO livery
  5. Definitely a winner in all respects.
  6. Gorgeous Alfa. Well built.
  7. Fantastic collections of photographs. Incredible variety. Thanks. I have not been to a rod & custom show quite some time so wonderful to see current trends.
  8. Thanks Andrew - Hopefully there will be good YouTube coverage of the event.
  9. This is a beautiful model and I guess if cannot have a rwal one, this ios the next best thing. I have always enjoyed your build and comments. You will forever be Cobraman. All the best for the future.
  10. Gorgeous racing Ford GT. Well done.
  11. Very interesting and very well done.
  12. Great looking Audi. Very well built.
  13. The underbody is now complete. The SalvinosJR 3D printed steering wheel and electronics panel are not exactly like those used at Le Mans but are representative. I also added paddle shifters, two info panels, seat belt harnesses and some heat shrink roll cage ‘padding.” Now I can move onto finishing the body.
  14. Excellent build. Had a Jaguar look to it.
  15. I received Garage 56 3D printed detail parts from Jim Rodgers - the JR in SalvinosJR and the designer of the NextGen kits. The parts included are the 2 exterior mirrors, the 4 front dive plans, the 4 rear canards, 2 side valance flares, the right-side window with fuel port, the digital steering wheel, the rear taillights, and the windshield wiper blade. I also ordered the rain tires and the dashboard, electronics panel, and rear-view monitor. It does not appear that the Garage 56 used the dash cover and I will use the right-side window and fuel filler I already made up. SalivinosJR now has headlights and grills available but again I will use what I have already made up.
  16. Some more assembly of the underbody. Two newly done Garage 56 modifications are the fuel filling arrangement from the right side rear window area to the relocated midships fuel tank. Up front I cut an opening in the air intake ducting for direct induction air supply from the upper grill area. Next I will be concentrating on drivers' area.
  17. I echo everyone's accolades. Outstanding model.
  18. Great looking Little T
  19. The rolling chassis is now largely completed. I am very impressed with the level of engineering that went into both the real NextGen chassis and the Salvinos JR scale chassis. The tolerances of how all the parts fit together are very close and I did find the assembly challenging at times. One definitely has to closely study the instructions.
  20. Superbly WIP update like a post-grad seminar in scale hot rod chassis construction
  21. I really like the box art and look forward to your build
  22. Thank you so much for the link to your photos. I really enjoyed seeing the historic scale podiums. I am currently working a "replica" of the Garage 56 Camaro which I am sure you saw and heard!!
  23. Great looking model got me thinking of the evolution of Mustang race cars. This is one of the more radical in the almost 60 year history although it got pretty wild in the 1980's.
