Magnificent model and photos of an incredible car.

This Toyota Corolla GTS is based on the Aoshima Trueno. Alterations were made to make it more like the North America version such as converting to left-hand steering, modifying the front bumper/grill/turn signals, reorienting the windshield wipers and relocating some engine compartment components. Additionally the car was a given a tuner treatment being lowered with after market wheels, some under-hood enhancements and a race car interior.

This appears to a 36 Ford body placed on top of a snowmobile chassis solely to attract attention but kind of cool to see none the less.

This is a very interesting thread and got me thinking of all my starts and stops in the hobby. The only thing I have remaining from my first era of model car building in the early 1960's is a grainy Brownie camera black and white photo of a '62 Thunderbird AMT Styline custom. My oldest surviving model car is this 1/12 Tamiya Wolf F-1 built after attending the 1979 Spanish Grand Prix and wanted to learn about the construction of the current F-1 cars. I eventually got back into the hobby on an ongoing basis around 1994 and have most of the models I have built since then.

I have been wanting to build a grape 36 3W. You beat me to it. Good job.

WOW. Fabulously attractive GTO. Love the colour. I was at the 2004 Monterey Historics when 20 GTO's raced. Most were red but there was one very much the same colour as your model.
