  1. The underbody is now complete. The SalvinosJR 3D printed steering wheel and electronics panel are not exactly like those used at Le Mans but are representative. I also added paddle shifters, two info panels, seat belt harnesses and some heat shrink roll cage ‘padding.” Now I can move onto finishing the body.
  2. Excellent build. Had a Jaguar look to it.
  3. I received Garage 56 3D printed detail parts from Jim Rodgers - the JR in SalvinosJR and the designer of the NextGen kits. The parts included are the 2 exterior mirrors, the 4 front dive plans, the 4 rear canards, 2 side valance flares, the right-side window with fuel port, the digital steering wheel, the rear taillights, and the windshield wiper blade. I also ordered the rain tires and the dashboard, electronics panel, and rear-view monitor. It does not appear that the Garage 56 used the dash cover and I will use the right-side window and fuel filler I already made up. SalivinosJR now has headlights and grills available but again I will use what I have already made up.
  4. Some more assembly of the underbody. Two newly done Garage 56 modifications are the fuel filling arrangement from the right side rear window area to the relocated midships fuel tank. Up front I cut an opening in the air intake ducting for direct induction air supply from the upper grill area. Next I will be concentrating on drivers' area.
  5. I echo everyone's accolades. Outstanding model.
  6. Great looking Little T
  7. The rolling chassis is now largely completed. I am very impressed with the level of engineering that went into both the real NextGen chassis and the Salvinos JR scale chassis. The tolerances of how all the parts fit together are very close and I did find the assembly challenging at times. One definitely has to closely study the instructions.
  8. Superbly WIP update like a post-grad seminar in scale hot rod chassis construction
  9. I really like the box art and look forward to your build
  10. Thank you so much for the link to your photos. I really enjoyed seeing the historic scale podiums. I am currently working a "replica" of the Garage 56 Camaro which I am sure you saw and heard!!
  11. Great looking model got me thinking of the evolution of Mustang race cars. This is one of the more radical in the almost 60 year history although it got pretty wild in the 1980's.
  12. I was not able to find out the exact dimensions of the Garage 56 fuel tank other than it was 12 gallons larger than the Cup car and mounted amidships in a horseshoe configuration around the gearbox. Even though the fuel tank will not be visible when the model is fully assembled learning about this significant difference made me want to make this modification. First I removed the sides and bottom on the rear mounted Cup fuel tank which are molded into the rear frame structure. Next I fabricated a new tank from Evergreen sheet styrene.
  13. Awesome looking race car. Bravo to both you for doing a great job applying the decals and also to the person who designed the decal sheet.
  14. Dan - The Garage 56 side mirrors are more square than the stock mirrors and they do come with the Salvinos JR garage 56 parts kit.
  15. Fantastic looking Mustang. I am very impressed with the Salvinos JR NextGen kits.
  16. The latest mods I have done are cutting in openings for the rear tow ring, rear warning light and rear fender NACA ducts. I have also ordered conversion parts developed by Jim Rogers - the JR at Salvinos JR. These include parts I was having difficulty replicating myself such as the front dive planes, the rear canards, the lower side valance rear deflectors, the unique steering wheel and a better rendition of fuel filler on the side windows. The conversion kit also includes the windshield wiper. In addition I ordered rain tires and the dash with electronics panel. I received quick and super service when I contacted Jim at Salvino JR. While waiting for the parts to arrive I will start work on the chassis and drive train.
  17. I like this a lot. One of my favorite racing Porsche. I remember seeing it in Road & Track after its Targa Florio win. I have seen the real car at a vintage racing event driven by Brian Redman and I had the pleasure of taking with him afterwards. He tells great stories of his racing days.
  18. Excellent build of a favorite race car. I think it is really cool that whatever the scale of the model they appear equal when posted here.
  19. Yes I heard they were making conversion parts but I am well on my way now so will continue building my own version. It is a fun and interesting challenge. I have recently signed up on the website to get updates.
  20. Congratulations on a stunning Ferrari
  21. Such a tough looking little car like a bull dog
  22. Amazing modern modelling of ancient yet at the time cutting edge technology. Very impressive.
