  1. I agree! I guess that's part of the tuner culture, though. Good work! Sam
  2. Well, here's my first model in 2017, a Revell 40 Ford pickup built OOB. The kit had some fit issues - the opening doors were a problem, as expected. I finally glued the passenger door shut and drilled holes in the driver's door hinges and inserted metal pins so it opens without falling off. Neither of the doors fit well, though. The hood has gaps all around in spite of several rounds of test fitting. I guess dimensions change after applying glue! Paint is Krylon satin olive with Testors pearl clear over it. The pearl gave it a too silvery look, but I can live with it. Apple red in the interior and the wheels for something different. All in all, not a bad kit, but it was more tedious to build than I expected. My build could be better, but I like it. Comments are always welcome!
  3. That's looking really good! I used that same body on a build and had trouble with the hood, too. I used the old AMT 49 Merc hood on mine, after some cutting, filling, and puttying. It still has gaps at the rear corners, but I got tired of messing with it! Yours looks great! Sam
  4. A tree of chrome plated door handles and rear view mirrors of different styles. It seems I'm always losing them! Sam
  5. Beautiful model! The maroon color looks great! Excellent work! Sam
  6. Great build! The black looks classy! Very nice work! Sam
  7. That's a beauty! I like the red and tan colors. The 62 is one of my favorite Mopars, and yours is as good as they come! Nice work! Sam
  8. Very nice build! Good scratch building work, and it's something really different. Great work on this! Sam
  9. I agree 100%! Very well done - lots of character. Sam
  10. Nice builds! The racers are cool, but my favorite is the 300sl gullwing! Sam
  11. Really nice build! The color stands out just enough. Good work! Sam
  12. That's a nice crop of builds! I really like the 39 Chev, the 32 Vicky, and the Hudson! Very good work on all of them! Sam
  13. Great builds, all of them! I really like the Olds and the 40 Ford pickup! Great work on all of them! Sam
  14. Ambitious project, but it's looking good! Keep going! Sam
  15. That is looking great! Love the seat - lots of character! Sam
  16. That's looking good! I really like the colors! Sam
  17. Great builds! I really like the 57 Ford wagon! The photos look like the cars are sitting on a frozen pond on that table! Sam
  18. Nicely done AMC! It's good to see the old kits saved! The blue is great, and I like the wheels. Sam
  19. That's a really cool truck! I like the look with the wire wheels and whitewalls. Nice work! Sam
  20. Now that is definitely cool! Great conversion. It might look good on a trailer or car hauler model, like it's on its way to an antique machinery show. Sam
  21. Thanks for all the compliments, guys! I appreciate them a lot! Sam
  22. Great crop of deuces! I really like the yellow sedan and the bright red roadster, but they're all great builds! Sam
  23. Very nice hot rod! Looks so clean, and I like the six! My only nit-pick is that on models with exposed engines, I would add plug wires. Still a great build! Sam
  24. Here's a link to the "on the workbench" post, Kevin. It was a pretty simple build, although the boom took some effort!
  25. A friend of mine owns this woody version. So cool!
