  1. Very cool! That was some major surgery! Looks great! I like the flat bed and rail, and the green color! Sam
  2. Very cool model! I saw two of these conversions at a local antique machinery show in September. The blue one used the Model A rear end flipped over, then geared to the rear wheels. The gears on the wheels were about 3 feet in diameter. There were kits sold in the 1930's to make the conversions.
  3. Great looking diorama! I like how it fits on a shelf. The lights inside add a lot of realism - looks like a bunch of guys working on their cars on a summer evening! Very nice work! I think I would add some signs, posters, calendar, etc. on the walls for extra realism. Sam
  4. That is a great diorama! I tried to make dust clouds like that in a Baja race diorama that I made, but couldn't get them to look right. Yours look just right! Great work! Sam
  5. Lookin' good! Nice work on the brass frame. Front wheels are very cool! Sam
  6. Great build! It must have the world's longest driveshaft! The minibike on the front is a cool touch! Sam
  7. Beautiful truck! Great finish and details! Nice work! Sam
  8. That's cool, and has a great story with it! Very creative! Sam
  9. Wow! Great detailing, and very original idea! I'm eager to see it finished! Sam
  10. Looks cool! That's some serious rubber on the rear! Nice finish - looks just "ratty" enough. Good work! Sam
  11. Chris, I wanted to use the tonneau cover, but it has a bad tire burn on it. It must have sat for years with a tire on it, and it melted into the cover. I'm planning to try and repair it with some putty and sanding (if I can) and put it on the bed. It came apart pretty easily, but the inner wheel halves were glued solid to the axles with half a tube of glue, I think! So I just glued the Merc wheels to the existing inners. They do not rotate! Sam
  12. Great build, Rob! Nice finish, and it looks good under the hood! Great foil work, too! Nice all over! Sam
  13. This photo from online was my inspiration for the model. I liked the chrome wheels and whitewalls on it. Thanks for the compliments, guys! Sam Oops, I forgot the license plate! I'll add it later. Seems like I always forget some detail. Gettin' old!
  14. Wow! That is a beautiful model! Great color and foil work! It's good to see those old kits being saved! Great work! Sam
  15. Hey, all. I found a decent old never-painted built-up 59 El Camino on ebay, and rebuilt it as a mild custom. Wheels are from a Revell 49 Merc with painted whitewalls. I used the custom grille and bumpers from a Revell 59 Impala convertible kit. Krylon apple red paint with some wet look clear. Pretty simple build. Comments welcome!
  16. Very nice build! Nice color and great foil work. It's nice to see those old Jo-Han kits saved! Sam
  17. Harry, those are amazing sketches! I like the SSR. I always hated that strip through the headlights, too! The Mercedes looks a lot cleaner in your version. I like it! Sam
  18. I remember having a Shelby Mustang model that came with a record with the sounds of Carroll Shelby driving around a race track (Riverside?). The record was 45 rpm and made of cardboard. Shelby narrated the drive, telling what gear and rpm, and which turn or straightaway he was in. I think it was about 1967. Anyone else remember that? Sam
  19. One nit-pick, David. We don't have front license plates in PA. Sam
  20. Great build! I like the colors and the cool headlights! Good work! Sam
  21. I built one a few years ago. It's a typical AMT annual kit of its time. Simple build, and comes out looking ok.
  22. Me too.
  23. Wow! Really nice Dodge! Looks like you nailed the look of the real one! Great work! Sam
  24. Great build! I like how you used parts from many different kits to make a unique model! Very good work! Sam
