  1. Chuck, that looks great. It takes me longer than that to pick a color.
  2. I got the trailer in base coat, Nassau Blue Metallic by Model Masters. Then clear coated. I put wood planks inside the ramp rear door. I also have the cab painted but I didn't like the way way it turned out. My Model Masters paint nozzle spit some large drops of paint a few times.?? Going to water sand it and try again. I finished the trailer up and used one of my other trucks to tow it. Thanks for looking.
  3. I sold these in the store when the came out and don't remember having paint issues with them. I did have a few with missing parts and two left door panels. Also had the built versions and they were fine as well. The grandson and I built several and they were all fine. The paint detailing is very nicely done. I'm sure there are some bad ones but it should only be dust and common paint issues, not glue gobs.
  4. Love it! That dash is a work of art. I need to try that Spaz stix
  5. Thanks guys. I have three more of these beds so I may do a weathered one to haul a dozer to the job sites. I also have a Jimmy Flintstone 50's van body made for these Chevy COE trucks.
  6. Looks good. I painted my Z-28 grill flat black back in the day, I thought it just looked better.
  7. Good Save!
  8. Nice Gary. I would like to see more of the garage/backdrop.
  9. I finished this one up except for tail lights. I know I have some packed away here somewhere. I added some mirrors from a 64 Impala, small for a truck but as an older custom truck they should do. Also bare metal foiled the bumper and black washed the grill. I plan on painting one of these 1/43 Willys to match the 1/18 I did. Thanks for looking.
  10. Welcome to MCM. Great start Brent. The scratch building looks very profesional. 1/18 parts can be hard to come by. I have a few on my site and have a few hundred parts cars. Looking forward to seeing this build.
  11. Thanks guys, Going to finish this one today.
  12. No, it's plastic and looks to be vacuum formed. To stiffen it up and give it a good pad to rest on the fifth wheel, I poured about a 1/4" of resin on into the bottom of it. Thanks

    41 Willys

    Thanks for the kind words.
  14. Wow! The paint looks incredible.
  15. Thanks Ray.
  16. Spending time while paint is curing on the big IH truck I got in a few projects that have been on the bucket list for a long time. This in on of them. An Ertl 1/43 scale diecast 1950 Chevy cab over. The ramp bed is from Dakotah Toys. Took the cab marker lights off and cleaned up some of the mold marks. A test fit Paint stripped Chassis and fenders in gloss black. The interior painted and detailed. Thanks for looking, comments welcome.
  17. Thank Guys. I forgot to mention that most of the diecast cars have some soft vinyl interior parts like the seats and boots. You do need acrylic paint for them as oil paints will Never dry.
  18. I think Danno's Post #8 has it about right. I like 100 degrees here Way better than 90 degrees in Ohio .......... even at 110 here it's WAY WAY better than 20 degrees. That said I would not recommend coming here if you are a roofer.
  19. Welcome Gary, I hope you can make it up to the annual model show here in Phoenix next year.
  20. This is a 1/18 Maisto Diecast model. As with most diecast the red interior looks too plasticity. I decided black was the answer. I did the dash, seats insert, visors, door panels and boot with a brush using the paint shown. That paint goes on very nice. The floor pan and metal seat frame was sprayed with a flat black. Thanks for looking
  21. Any chance the wire wheels and tires will be sold as a parts pack?
  22. The first one I had was I believe a 1967 that I bought around 1971. The cab was great but the bed was shot. The drivers side outer skin was full of holes from the chrome down, front to back. It wasn't far from looking like screen. The inside bed panel was fine. The passenger side was just the opposite, the outside was fine but the inside was gone. I draped fiberglass cloth over the bad panels basically making completely new panels.
  23. Thanks Rob, I'm sure I'll get at least one of each kit anyway.
  24. My 1:1 1969 had a "Ranger" emblem in the center of the grill. Does anyone know if any of the kits will have the Ranger package? Corrected, My Ranger was a 68. The first one I had was a 6 cylinder and I think it was a 67.
  25. Any release date on the Model King 69 truck?
