James I know someone produced a 1/32 scale kit. I want to say Revell. I believe it's a glorified snap kit, so if you find one it should work. G

I retired when I did as I felt it was time to go. I have never paid into Social Security and do not now. My pension comes from the St Louis Police Pension System, the system that I, and all other St Louis Police Officers since 1958, have paid into. I receive retiree health benefits but they are minimal. My previous injuries are taken care of by this plan as they were incurred in the line of duty. My wife receives no pension, zero, zip, nada, but does have a decent 401k that we have yet to touch. Her only health benefits come from my current State of Nevada plan as my spouse. I too never realized someone self employed had to pay into SS twice. Truthfully I took the job I have now as I needed better health bennies and these guys were more than willing to put me to work. That and I I could not sit still........... G

MrsG was a well compensated casino executive until the economy crashed. She was "retired", as was her peer group, due to the budget cutting methods of new owners. Granted she has never returned to the work force and we do fine. Thing is here's a prime example of an experienced gaming professional who cannot be hired anywhere as no one currently can actually afford to pay her what her expertise commands. She had a great offer to be the VP of a Race/Sports Book at one of the "under construction" properties until the billionaire backer pulled his support. So now you have 25 years of experience retired and taking care of me. Poor woman. G

It has rained somewhere in the valley every day for a week now. Trouble is the denuded areas from last year's fire still cannot retain the flow and the west side is all mud now. Glad I live at a higher elevation. G

The position of chauffer is all yours my brother. The place would never be the same again. G

As soon as I wrote that something changed, for the better at that. I was called into a meeting this morning and informed the powers that be were aware I was disallusioned and had submitted my application to the coroners office. The up shot was my evaluation, today's my anniversary date, was presented to the board with the recommendation that I receive the maximum pay raise possible at this time. The new chief has quietly made it known that he appreciates experienced folks and will no longer tolerate "suggested retirements" as a budget cutting method. Holy Moly I wasn't expecting that response. James, Danno and I come from a generation where your work ethic was everything. We knew what we were in for when we signed on and adapted accordingly. Never, in 35 years, have I dreaded going to work one single day. Hell I didn't call in sick for over 14 years and only then it was for surgery. I think what bothered me the most about the "tainted" statement was that I had worked with the guy for like ever in the South Patrol Detective Bureau. He sure as heck never hesitated to ask my advice on issues. Now all of a sudden guys like me are tainted? Times change and you change with them, no worries just keep on doing your best. G

Unfortunately Danno, government has slowy implemented the same budget balancing methods too. My beloved SLPD is still recovering from a "chief" who openly declared that all the old school, read experienced, officers were "tainted". Tainted? By what? To what end? He slowly manuvered experienced folks, higher paid folks BTW, out the door. He then magically exclaimed how he had saved the department from fiscal crisis. Really? I was gone about a year before he was appointed chief, but I bet with my seniority I would have been "encouraged" to retire. Where I'm at now could be the greatest state police job in the lower 48 except for the commanders. Pedantic and inexperienced, my command staff "manages" by crisis. Their response to a successful resolution to a supposed crisis is to wipe their brows, exhale and walk away. Trouble is these guys have no clue what a real crisis is. They too "encourage" experienced folks to retire. I despise bean counters and posers and hypocrites. G

What did you see on the road today?

Saw a red '70 Mustang Mach 1. It was a bit rough but sounded fine. G -
At least my Hobby Lobby gal is a bit older......... That is a perfect description of our newly hired agent. She is the same age as my middle son. I shortly thereafter realized I'm the oldest person in the division. Working screwed up shifts for years has had it's advantages. I shop when no one else does and I go to movies/shows when others are at work. I have the freedom to run a lot of piddly errands for MrsG while at work. G

Chris that is looking killer. Continue with the "layers" of color. Everywhere there's a chip, or the edge of piece use the final red color darkened a bit. It makes it look like wear burnished paint. Here's an example. Look at the edges of the turret. In this case I first base coated in a dark tan enamel. I used an acrylic top coat which I scrubbed off leaving the edge of the turret a darker color. Then I painted small chips, and used some darker brown oil paint to accent the edge. It now looks like what happens when the crew crawls up and over damaging and burnishing the paint while leaving dirt and grime. See the fender damage? That's just dark brown oil paint drybrushed over the hand painted chips. The trick is using small small amounts of oil paint and spreading them around realistically. You have a great base of chipped paint it just needs that extra bit to totally come alive. My two cents anyway. G

The early early Dragnets carried over from the radio show. Ben Alexander was the voice of Detective Frank Smith, Sgt. Joe Friday's partner. Mr Alexander was born in 1911 and passed away in '69 leaving the path open for Harry Morgan in the later series. Now that's how real detectives dressed. Cheap suit, expensive hat and a guilty look G

Very, very nice gesture Tom. I too like the idea that the art will live on, thus Todd will live on. G -
