  1. I delayed the paint stage for a bit more scratchbuilding. I wanted to see if I could replicate the intake trunks. The real ones weren't that neat and precise so I didn't have many worries. Here's the lower piece. Constructing the upper trunk. Getting there. G
  2. Very nice display there! Lots of smiling faces. I like simplified snap kits, makes me feel like I accomplished something. G
  3. A little more progress. This should be ready for paint soon. G
  4. Love me some Stuka! Chris that paint will work just fine. That should look great when appropriately chipped. Mark that is a nice clean build of one of my fave motorcycles. G
  5. These are agencies I have personal knowledge of when it comes to door trim. CHP ordered the cars with the front door trim deleted as did the Nevada HP at first. Maryland SP cut a gap in the trim to accomodate the shield. CHP has deleted the front door trim for decades now. St Louis PD ordered the full trim package and adjusted the markings to the car, as did the St Louis County PD and Las Vegas Metro PD. Nevada HP then changed the shield/logo something like four times in five years. The Missouri State Highway Patrol said **** it and put the door shield right over the door trim. Maybe that's why we always referred to the MSHP as "MiSHaPs............................ G
  6. They were good cars and you have done a fine job replicating one. Heck yeah you better finish! G
  7. Everything is looking super! I got a few moments today and worked some more on my USMC Iwo Jima Sherman. I added some detail to the front slope. The real tank had oak planks bolted to the side to thwart magnetic mines. The planks were spaced out about two inches and that space filled with concrete. I replicated the wood sponson armor with .030 sheet cut to fit. I used some sliced hex rod for the bolts. The wood texture was courtesy of my razor saw. The front slope had additional boards protecting the gap. Again .030 sheet, textured with my saw blade stands in for the planks. More to come, it's been a busy few weeks here. I'll get some more shots of the U boat up soon as well. G
  8. Slow and steady progress on this one. I scratchbuilt the accelerator pedal, shifter and boot. Buttoned it up and am pleased with the result. G
  9. Very nice! G
  10. We out here have George Knapp. He's known to take on the hard stories and put the whole story out there regardless of it's impact. It's been said "the boys" feared Knapp more than any law enforcement agency. He's a gem. G
  11. The pics showed cars in the middle of the street up to their windows and beyond in water. Flash flooding claims at least three a year out here in the desert. We only have an average of 5 inches of rain annually but it comes in one week. Some times it comes in one day. There's no place for the water to go then but over the streets. G
  12. I got a turret for ya, right here. Harry, Carl, Thank You! Tom you and Danno go to your room. G
  13. That should be a radio call disposition code. G
  14. Massive flash flooding in St Charles County Missouri this week. Thats just west of St Louis across the Missouri river. Not good. G
  15. Lets go Blues! G
  16. What he said. G
  17. I had a string of paint issues that taxed my patience to the limit. Last year I stripped and repainted every model at least once. I went back to armor for quite some time after that. You screw up the paint on a tank, you just call it "weathering". G
  18. If I put my stuff in the wrong place, well......................... Oh nevermind. G
  19. Thank you gentlemen. Russell I'm going with steel wheels, small Ford hubcaps and tall skinny tires for a period look. I's definately a modern rod with a vintage look. G
  20. I misspoke earlier perhaps giving the impression this could have been prevented. It would not have. There was no way to prevent this incident from occurring. When someone, somewhere, convinces themselves someone else has to die, and goes out to kill, it cannot be prevented. Until the two took that all important first step toward commiting this heinous crime, nothing they did was illegal. I agree with Harry in that our media streaming is so profound nowadays, this went worldwide before the scene was secure. I'm done with this and will mourn privately now. Thank you all for showing support and respect for the fallen. G
