I always clipped the mic to the left epaulet of my shirt or coat. G

A good investigator never asks a question he or she doesn't already know the answer to. I always called it "doing my homework". The only surprise I ever wanted in an interview was a confession about shooting JFK. Even then.................. G

Took MrsG and the grandchildren on a long day trip in central Nevada. Went to see the Little Ale'inn in Rachael NV, The Mizpah Hotel in Tonapah and the Goldfield Hotel in Goldfield NV. Great trip. G

What did you see on the road today?
Agent G replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Saw a black Ferrari Testarossa and about an hour later a gunmetal Maserati Quadroporte. G -
Took the grandson to HL yesterday and scored a nice shadowbox for cheap with their 40% off coupon. Talked to my honey about upcoming kits, looks like new aircraft kits are the next big installment at my store. G

I too am the gray haired old guy hanging out in the hobby shop. I'm one of many in my LHS! Food for thought time. I explained to my grandson today that a typical suburban SUV can tell a predator all he or she needs to know about the family. Stickfigures on the tailgate immediately identify who comprises the family unit and what mom or pop do for a living. It even tells you to beware of the dog or dogs and what other pets could be present. School stickers/bumper stickers lead you to the general area of the residence as do any city stickers/inspection stickers on the windshield. Sometimes a casual glance inside tells you everything. It never ceases to amaze me what folks leave lying in the open inside their vehicles. I'm talking mail, all sorts of personal papers, as well as receipts for vehicle service/inspection/registration. Not to mention laptops, cameras and phones just sitting there waiting to be taken. Has this sunk in yet? Have I hit a nerve? Have you read this and immediately wondered about your own vehicle? Good. Am I a pervert, or just paranoid? Neither. I'm a cop. I pay attention to what I hear in suspect/victim/witness interviews. That's how guys like me solve serial murder/rape/molestation cases. The real predator is the guy or gal you would never expect. It's a cruel world and folks just don't get it. G

Like we say in homicide, that's a four body trunk. Looking great James, that color is superb on that big body. G

Here's the next installment of my USMC armor in the PTO saga. This will be an M4A2 used on Saipan. The TC called her "King Kong". I scratchbuilt the wading trunks. The bogies are Tamiya with DML wheels and details added in plastic hex rod. This is an old Verlinden resin conversion for the Tamiya M4 series. I spiced it up with the correct final drive cover, wheels. commanders hatch and small details from DML. Everything else will be scratchbuilt. G

My problem is that everytime I intend to build one "just for fun" I cannot help but adding stuff. Before I know it I'm knee deep in details anyway! G

My apologies.................. Tom, At least we had community outrage followed by community involvement. I've seen the first one many times but not the second all that much. Nothing like this goes forward unless witnesses come forth. There are some tricks of the trade that can be used in this case, but it's good to have that corroboration. Peer pressure is something only the very strong resist. G

I'd like to see a tutorial on building one of these. G

My last car was a then brand new '06 Chevrolet Impala. With all the equipment mounted, radio, siren/light controller, rifle rack and laptop computer I could not get to the climate controls. I always had a wrench in my bag I used to loosen the lap top mount and move it away from me. As a sergeant I always rode alone so that was never questioned. Then again, with my seniority, attitude and demeanor no one dared....................... I had to ride two up with another sergeant a few times just before retiring and oh my goodness there was little room on the passenger side. Glad this old widebody cop retired when he did. G

My 11 year old grandson is quite a builder and has gathered a set of tools to use. One is an Xacto knife which he is very cautious with. He is very attentive and as of now has not done anything stupid. He is 11 and, well, a boy, so this may end at any time. In the interim he continues to build and increase his skill level. G

What, no dead sea scrolls either? Good score on the paint, I'll take the grandson there tomorrow. G

Good for you! Here's to many more years in a great place. G

Having worked many a case where everyone " was in the bathroom " when " something " happened it's quite refreshing to hear the community becaame involved. Nothing will ever bring back the departed, but the arrests go along way towards that certain something known as justice. G
