  1. Thank you gentlemen. When it comes to hot rods I like my motors out there in the breeze so to speak. That's why I put a lot of time into them. I will detail an interior as well even in a coupe. Here's where it's at today. I used the kit pedals and made an accelerator from wire and a scrap of plastic. I took sprue and rod and constructed a "piston" topped shift lever. These shots give you a good look at the texture paint I used for carpet. I like it and will be using this more often now. G
  2. Between all the things happening here in Vegas and my nephew visiting, not a lot has been accomplished. Last night and this morning I completed the Ardun flattie. This is where I left it last night. I used Tamiya "Smoke", highly thinned with their acrylic thinner as a wash on the manifold. Using an acrylic ensured I wouldn't fudge up the enamel base paint. As of right now I'm calling the engine complete. I built the distributor from styrene tube and sheet. I used 28 ga floral wire for the plugs and homade coil, which is styrene rod drilled out. G
  3. More and more info has been released over the last two days. While not related to the other two azzhats, these cretins were their own special kind of stupid. Natives of the midwest they sold everything travelling to Nevada wanting to take part in the recent Bundy Ranch debacle. Well they were so "off the chain" the protestors at Bundy Ranch told them to leave. Having nowhere to go they took up residence in Vegas and devised their plan. They stockpiled guns and ammo, he was a convict, she not so much and waited for "the day". How and why the pair picked the location they did is pure conjecture. Sad part is others knew of the intended actions and just didn't say anything. The common consensus was that these two were so crazy it was only talk. G
  4. Looking super! G
  5. Two whackos, male and female, entered a CiCi's Pizza and ambushed two LVMPD officers eating lunch. After assassinating them, they stole their guns, ammo and reportedly one officer's body armor. The pair walked across the street to a Wal-Mart where they began to shoot the place up. They were engaged by a male with a CCW who put up a good fight but was shot and killed. Responding officers were met with a fusilade of shots. The couple realized they were surrounded so they retreated to the warehouse area where she shot he and then shot herself in a suicide pact. Scary as that is, the pair were heard shouting "tell the cops the revolution has begun!" WTF? A year ago undercovers infiltrated a subversive group out here. They discovered a plot whereby a police officer was to be kidnapped and tortured. The suspects, a man and woman BTW, were seen to actually drive around town scouting Metro's patrol cars looking for a victim. The decision was made to end the UC op and take the couple into custody. They were RELEASED at the preliminary hearing for "lack of evidence". If this proves to be connected to that prior incident I will be absolutely, incandescently, Pee'd. G
  6. I am.................. G
  7. ^What he said X2^ G
  8. If you saw the news, you know what irked me. More than irked. I'm numb and sick to my stomach. G
  9. Even in my school days Charlie we learned "history" which always stopped just shy of World War I. WTF? My father, my uncles, older cousins all served in some capacity, I wanted to hear about it. I read and read and read, and I built models. I learned more of the history of the PTO as a raw recruit at MCRD San Diego than I ever learned in school. WE must NEVER forget, any of it, the good or the bad, least we be doomed to repeat it. G
  10. I absolutely loved the story about the 89 year old veteran of Her Majesties Armed Forces who skipped out of the nursing home and went to the anniversary ceremony. It had been mentioned that if the entire German Army couldn't keep him from entering France, how would nurses be successful? How about the 93 year old who parachuted into France the night before, just like 70 years ago. The 92 year old who flew the C47 dropship? May God Bless them all. G
  11. My co-workers 2011 Mustang had what amounted to a "reverberator" connected from the engine compartment to the interior. It amplified the sound and focused it. This though, is at another level. G
  12. Art I believe that's the first and only time I have ever heard of the plastic coming off with the tape. Masking tape must have been a bit different then? G
  13. Mary lived down the street too and actually worked at Bessies Snack Shop for quite some time. G
  14. Yes Germans too. My relatives, Jews by the way, had quite a hard time during those years. Several got out in the early to mid 30's, the rest, well some hid, some died. It was called World War II for a reason. God Bless the greatest generation. BTW we just lost the last of the original Navajo Code Talkers too. Semper Fi G
  15. You are posting pics of the real car aren't you? When will you start working on the model? BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH man that's superb. G
  16. I found that ignoring the ex's and moving on was much more satisfying. #3 apparently cannot stand the fact I'm remarried and oh yeah, HAPPY! G
  17. I was about 11-12 and had a basement workshop. Bored as pre-teens usually are I decided to take target practice in the basement. Well dad had set up a BB trap for my amusement but naturally I just had to shoot that "empty" can of purple spray paint. That empty can spewed purple spray paint like you wouldn't believe spinning and taking flight across the basement. Did I mention that purple spray paint went everywhere? Fast forward 30 years, mom was moving and I found remnants of purple spray paint on the wall. G
  18. I came out ahead every single time. I became SINGLE! G
  19. It has now gotten to that point where I spray paint early in the morning or late in the evening. 102 here yesterday. I like to paint in the morning then let the part sit. Can you say "Baked enamel finish" ? G
  20. Tom, remember, the biggest money maker ever was run by the Columbo family. It was the gas tax scam in Queens and Long Island back in the '80's. Estimates put it at about $5,000,000 for the family in one year alone. I think one, maybe two guys took a hit, did some time and most of the money was never seen again. G
  21. My wife grew up by Jimmy's Hot Dog Stand and insists on no ketchup, EVER. We don't even have it in the house. Andy - As long as it's a Vienna dog you'll taste it! We have a place here on the west side called Glaziers. They sell the Vienna dogs, peppers, buns you name it. MrsG raids the place once a week now. Oh and tamales too! G
  22. NICE! G
  23. Hey Dale, how's about we pool our cash and buy this puppy? G
