  1. Wonderful, wonderful work sir. More please! G
  2. Carl - As long as you are pleased I am happy. Danno - You know me, I cannot leave anything alone. Michael -Thank you! Charlie - I'm trying to replicate USAF "Strato Blue" on a Mustang. I thought this would be ok from the can. It wasn't, but when I saw it on another car I painted, I thought it would be perfect for this one. Apparently I was right! Long week ahead so stay tuned. G
  3. What irked me today? The death of a beautiful 30 year old girl who wanted nothing more than to vacation in Las Vegas. She travelled here from Ireland and suffered a brain aneuryism. All I could see was my own daughter. 35 years into this and some things still tug at the old heart strings. G
  4. A previous gunshot injury has left me with partial numbness in my left arm and hand. It developed slowly over the past 20 years. I can still function quite well and remain an active law enforcement officer, but some nights it just bothers the heck out of me. G
  5. "Oh $#!*" Said by an Air Force crew chief whilst aboard a C-130 travelling from MCB 29 Palms, California to Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. As said phrase was spoken by said crew chief it became apparent that the unusual stains on his flight suit were hydraulic in nature. U turn commenced immediately and we landed at Nellis AFB in the heart of Las Vegas NV. Trouble was we had just spent three weeks in the desert without seeing mainside, and we were armed......... G
  6. Beautiful work! Keep it coming. G
  7. I am honored sir. Thank you. G
  8. Me thinks that somehow, somewhere, in southern Arizona, a purple Deuce Coupe is under construction............ That's a clue detective. Well I had the morning to myself so I worked on the intake system. The kit provided three fairly well molded Stromberg 97s. Trouble was the intake stacks were solid, and they were chromed.. So I stripped the chrome, cut off the stacks, filed the tops down and added some rod to serve as a mount for three chrome Bell aircleaners from a Revell '49 Mercury kit. Here, for your viewing pleasure, is todays progress in photos. Fuel lines will attach where I drilled the holes in the carbs. I will run them back to a fuel distribution point on the firewall as the engine is devoid of the stock fuel pump. G
  9. ^ What he said ^ In the first six months of this year it has rained on two days. Drought conditions exist throughout the southwest. Fire warnings include California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and parts of Utah. Windy too. Not good. G G
  10. You did a very good job with what you had. It looks like a nice clean build in spite of the warped bed. Painted like that it would disappear out west here where I live.! G
  11. This is one awesome looking build. Love the color. More please. G
  12. Thank you all! That's Krylon "Global Blue" straight from the rattlecan. I bought it for another project, found it to be too light, so I used it here. It sanded and polished out very well. Cured rapidly too, however I believe the 100+ temps and bright sunlight helped. I did some more last night in regards to the engine. I'll get pics up later today. Stay tuned! G
  13. Don't even mention ex wives and models. #1 and #3 both called them "toys" and told me I was never going to grow up if I kept "playing" with them. #2 was the worst though, deliberately broke every completed model in which, in her mind, I had spent entirely too much time building. I've told the entire story before so I won't get into detail here. #4 "gets it" and buys me kits. She attends model shows and has become my #1 fan. That she's my only fan is irrevelant, she's my #1 fan! G
  14. Yeah I know, MrsG has to do the same for me.................................... G
  15. The Stuka is looking great! I'll be watching that V1 build for sure. G
  16. Charlie, I believe their mold are too worn but they keep putting out the kits. I'm sure popularity of the kit has something to do with that. I agree the satin almond color fits the build superbly. Matthew, All that means is great minds think alike! Have at it brother, we'll all learn from each other. Carl, That textured paint has become a staple in the armor community to replicate the non skid finish on most modern tanks. I spray it on the hull then paint over it with the tank's base color. It's a bit too fine and regular for replicating cast texture, but with this color on hand I couldn't resist using it for carpet. Anyway here we go. The parts are just press fit for now but you get the idea. Color you ask? Here's a teaser. G
  17. Sorry Danno, Your wife cautioned me, but I forgot. I'll speak slower and louder next time. G
  18. Congratulations on being a home owner. It is a wonderful feeling to come home and realize that all this is yours. Until stuff breaks LOL! The place I own had been foreclosed on and it took six months to finalize the deal. I walked away from the contract shennanigans three times. In the end I'm glad I stuck it out. This house is the first one that i've owned that is younger than me. No basement either. No plans on moving anytime soon. G
  19. I had an idea it may have been something like that after I sanded it off. I just might look in my PE spares for something to add after the paint is buffed. Thanks Jonathan! G
  20. Gas is averaging $3.75 a gallon here in southern Nevada. Gas is over $5.00 a gallon in northern Nevada and northern California. G
  21. Ok I have sloughed off for a week now so it's time for some progress pics. Here's the frame after final sanding and priming. Smooth as silk now. Thought the interior needed some color so after a white primer, Krylon Satin Almond. Can any one guess what's next? G
  22. How about you me and Danno go mano a mano a danno on our builds? G
  23. That entire compilation would be one week on Las Vegas roads. G
  24. Nice start! We should do a build off, I am working on a '32 3window too. G
