Nice work! I love the dash detail on the Keating Mobile, the others look great too. I'm a huge Bat-Fan. I have a whole shelf in my display case dedicated to Batmobiles and other associated things of The Bat. David G.

An excellent rendering of an automotive icon, well done! David G.

Thank you Carl. I'm actually impressed by the detail this kit offers. It's a respectable level of detail for any kit let alone a snapper. Thanks Rusty. That's been pretty much my experience with the color too. I had to take time to overcome my preconceived notions of what I thought the color should be. The images on the side of the box certainly didn't help with the management of my expectations. I'm sure that they were chromatically punched up for esthetics sake. The blue on the box art is much more appealing to my eye but I've come to accept the reality of the kit. Thanks, David G.

Thank you for taking the time to offer some tips Marcin. By the time I got to read your suggestions I had already started painting but your pointers reinforce what I discovered. For paints I have one old Model Master acrylic for the lavender on the trousers and gloves, the rest are Tamiya acrylics. I did do a little thinning of the paints but found myself using more of a drybrush technique intending multiple coats. The shading was as much so I could see what I was painting as anything else. It did impart a little depth but as you suggested, it seems that additional paint coats will obscure most of it. In addition to a light blackwash, I plan to use tints of my base colors for highlight and shadow. I really do like the idea you offered regarding the use of primer to build light and shadow. I hadn't thought of that and it's a wonderful idea that I plan the use in the future. I hope to get some photos of the base colors today or tomorrow. I'm pleased with the results so far. And thanks again for taking the time to offer some pointers. David G.

Why do people dig up these old threads???
David G. replied to Force's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm certainly guilty of that. I'm currently working on a build that I started in 2013 and I have others that took me a number of years to complete from start to finish. Let's not forget the occasions when a question posted to the forum gets answered with a snarky comment indicating that that question was answered in 2012 and the OP should learn to use the search function. At least a link is "thoughtfully" provided most times. There have also been times that I've done a general internet search for automotive or model related information and received results that link back to older threads on the MCM forum. I'm glad to know that an apparent majority of this group's members seem to recognize the value of the information in older threads. There are honestly times when I held back on commenting on an amazing build that I discovered here because of the age of the thread and being called out for resurrecting a thread that is now "irrelevant" because it's too old. Just because a thread is "old" doesn't mean that everybody has seen it. David G. -
Beautifully done! Your photos came out nice too. The lighting gives a dramatic effect rather like a magazine ad. David G.

It is a good kit by most standards and it will make for a good looking model, uh as long as I don't mess it up. You're welcome. I'm glad to know that you've found my post useful. Thanks Dann. Knowing the level of work you do, your comment means a lot to me. David G.

It looks like the same one offered by Micro Mark but be careful. Wish.com had a spotty reputation at best and outright fraudulent at worst. I recommend researching them before buying anything from them. David G.

I got one of these a few weeks ago from Micro Mark. I use mine on the patio and I'm quite happy with it. Here is a link to the Micro Mark page for it. Hope this helps, David G.

Wheels Down! For me, getting the rubber on the bench has always been the point where a project goes from being a model kit to a model car. I'm satisfied with the ride height on this one too. The more I work with the molded-in color, the more it seems to work. The color's not as rich as I would like but I'm beginning to think of it as more of a blank canvas for the stripes and decals which will tend to push the base color into the background establishing a nice contrast. Hopefully, it all ties together well. Anyway, here is the competed interior on the rolling chassis. Instrument decals are provided. Though minimally detailed and printed in low resolution, I used them anyway. I felt that the little bit of detail boost they added was worth the effort. In addition to a part that is intended to be installed, there is a good bit of detail cast into boot (I refuse to call that.. that... thing in the front a trunk). That, along with the decals and some details in the engine bay, most of which will not be visible after assembly, make me think that there is a version out there that has opening deck lids. Or maybe such a version was intended. Now the difficult work begins. To the body shop! David G.

Thanks Dann. It is a good kit. It just needs some minor tweaks here and there during assembly. There's a respectable level of detail too, very similar to the Polar Lights Batmobile snapper. If you're familiar with that one. David G.

Cool truck, smooth looking body mods. David G. -
That turned out great. I always wondered why they didn't include a cage in this kit. David G.
