  1. The car turned out great and the diorama you whipped up is perfect for it. Fabulous Work! David G.
  2. Nice detail work on the engine and it looks like your color laid down nicely. David G.
  3. Great progress on this! Nice interior detailing. Good color choice but I can't help seeing it as a DOH Charger. That's not a bad thing, it's just a thing. It's amazing how those pop culture influences can rewrite one's software. David G.
  4. Great idea making the grille template! Hope this one works out better for you. David G.
  5. Looks like the decals are going to work quite nicely. David G.
  6. Excellent work on this! There's so much great stuff going on that it's hard to pick anything out to comment on. David G.
  7. Beautiful paintwork and detailing! Your paint scheme is well designed and flows perfectly between the truck and the boat. David G.
  8. You managed to get a good looking model out of it. I'd say it was definitely worth the effort. David G.
  9. Nicely done! David G.
  10. Nice color choice! It looks like you may have some good interior detail going there too. David G.
  11. It's the Volvoverkill! Crazy cool and nicely done. David G.
  12. Welcome back to the hobby, it looks like you're off to a good start.... or restart. It's like I say in my signature line- "Each kit I build is really only practice for the next one!" David G.
  13. What a cool process! I find all this very fascinating and I'm excited by the potential it presents. Thanks for taking the time to share a bit of it with us. David G.
  14. Nice Funny Car. Good color choice and decal work. David G.
  15. Crazy good work with the decals, the overall build is great too. David G.
  16. Hi Dave. I really enjoyed all the custom work you did for this one, all of it very well done too. I missed this one the first time around, I'm glad you were able to get the photos restored. Thanks for taking the time to do that, it would have been a shame to lose this build and all the work you've done on it. David G.
  17. Thank you Larry Thanks Chris. It's nice to see such a good response to this one. David G.
  18. Thanks, I'm glad you like it. You have to PM an Admin, they can help with that. David G.
  19. Your weathering and detail work are excellent. Very convincing diorama! It looks like Pops ordered the repair part from Hawley's Farm Supply in Wichita in June of '72 and it still hadn't come in by August... of '74 so he just up and bough a new tractor. David G.
  20. A very skilled blending of two resin bodies. Looks Great! I think I might have made it a bread truck.. it does kind of have the shape of a loaf of bread. David G.
  21. Undoubtedly the best built version of this kit that I've seen. There's so much good going on that it's hard to point anything out. David G.
  22. That'll be a tremendous improvement to the interior. I've found that it's the details that most people don't notice that add the most detail. David G.
  23. Thanks Helmut. Yes, I did use Bare Metal foil for the canopy frames. Thank you Carl. I agree, especially the Polar Light snap kits, they're on par with many glue kits for quality, detail and engineering. Thanks Lee. Yes, I still find the idea of painting and decaling that one intimidating. Thank you David. I'm a bit of a Bat-fan myself and I've built several Bat-related vehicles. There's this one, the 1989 version with the accompanying 1992 Bat-Missile, the flashy neon festooned Batmobile from Batman Forever in 1995, The Tumbler and Bat-Pod from the Dark Knight series, A Gotham City Police cruiser, and a 49 Mercury as a Joker Mobile with accompanying figure. I also have the one from Batman v Superman in my stash... with a Green Strawberry photo etch kit. Thank you Bisiaux, I'm glad you like it. Thanks Glen. Thank you Al. Thanks Josh, mine too. Well, this and the one from 1989. To me they're about equal. Thanks Bill. Thank you Chaz. Thanks to everyone for the responses. David G.
  24. As best as I can determine, I bought and built this kit back in 2011, but for some reason I never posted anything about it on the MCM Forum. So I'm posting this thread to correct that omission. For those who may be interested, here is a link to the WIP thread. This was a quick and satisfying build. There were two figures that came with the kit, but I thought they looked kind of dorky, so I didn't use them. I am truly grateful that Polar lights released this pre-painted version. It allowed me to build a good model of the classic Batmobile without having to fight with the tricky paintjob. Not to mention the potential of having to live with the disappointment of a less than adequate model on the shelf. A "pair-o-chutes". I spent some time detailing the screen covers that go over the headlights hoping to add some depth to the detail but it was a complete waste of time. I'm still very happy with the way it all turned out though. And finally, the "cover shot". Of all the Batmobiles, this and the 1989 version are my two favorites. Though it's impossible to keep the dust off this one. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to leave a comment. David G.
