Crisp and clean! Beautiful work. Are those sponsor call-outs in a single sheet or individual decals? David G.

Hello Everyone. I've been busy the last two weeks completing the continuing education units for my professional licensing so my bench time has been severely limited. But that's all done. I was able to get a couple of hours in yesterday and here's what I accomplished. I was able to get the panel lines darkened and cleaned up. They'll need touching up in a couple of spots. I know they look pretty dark and I may still dial them back in a couple of areas but the are rather pronounced on the 1:1. There was another task that I wanted to accomplish and I was waiting for a time when my hands felt a little more stead and my eyes a bit sharper but I went ahead and did it anyway I don't know whether a chrome plated snap-in mirror was intended for the side views or what, but that's one heck of a hole that was cast into them. Even if there was a chrome piece that was meant to be inserted there, it would likely be waaaaay too thick to work with. In either case, these holes need to be addressed. I found some super shiny Mylar which I cut down to put in place there. The back of the Mylar is sort of self-adhesive but I plan to hold it down with a dab of PVA. I think that'll work nicely. Oh, yeah, I added the third brake light too. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.

Lucky score! Looks like it will be a fun project. David G.

Excellent progress on these Jouko! So tell me, how do you keep all the parts of the individual models from getting intermingled during the painting and building? David G.

There was a time, maybe around 2015 or 17 that this forum was so awash in General Lee builds that it almost became a running joke. Seriously, you couldn't open a browser on this site without seeing at least a few "Full detail General Lee", "Accurate General Lee build", "General Lee WIP, lotsa pictures!". As I recall, it has been a while since I've seen a DoH General Lee build though. I'm eager to see how yours turns out. David G.

Nicely Done! In detail and finish, both are well ahead of the time in which they were built. David G.

In this case David, I think it may be the balsa wood causing the warpage. I've done a bit of model railroading and balsa is generally not recommended for building model structures because in that hobby it has an affinity for moisture and is rather unstable as a result. For something like your diorama bass wood would be more typically used as it is much more stable than balsa very to work with. Hope that's helpful. It looks like you have some good work going there too. David G.

I'm always impressed by the realism of your dioramas, this one is no exception. The only thing missing is a bit of litter. But maybe you don't have that in Sweden like we do here in The States In any case, beautiful work. David G.

Beautiful little setup there! David G. -
Great progress on this Jouko, excellent choice of colors. They really are a great looking design, I may check to see if I can find one here in The States. David G.

It looks good Simon. I can just make out a bit of the interior busi-ness on the console through the side window. The red that remains on the mirrors and the grille area are great accents giving the whole car a subtle flair, like understated ostentation. David G.

WIP: Early 1980s campsite with bronco and wheeler

Wow! I'm sorry to learn of all the difficulty you've had with this diorama. You seem to be working well with the challenges and coming up with good solutions. I'm glad to see that you're sticking with it. And ultimately, it's like I say in my signature line, "Each kit I build is really only practice for the next one!" I should probably change that to, "Each model I build..." but I guess the point still comes across. I'm just curious, how do you plan to cover it when it's finished? David G. -

You have a great start on the diorama base and the models are beautiful but, to my eye, it looks a bit over populated with items of interest. If you want the viewer to focus on the Bronco, make it the item of interest; the first thing that people will notice when looking at the diorama. If you want to include the quad runner and the trailer, maybe attach them to the Bronco and make them visually into one item. Then maybe position as sort a backdrop to the people sitting around the fire. Think about what would make a great photo if you were in the diorama taking a picture. You could also consider the option of making a larger diorama with multiple scenes. Please forgive the unsolicited advice. I'm very interested to see how this one comes out. Best Regards, David G. -
Nice work on the rescue so far. David G.

I kind of thought so but I didn't want to assume anything. Are you going to go with the traditional version or the socially adjusted version? David G.
