  4. Cool chopper! Excellent work on the scratch building. When I read "Shifty Chopper" though, I expected to see a suicide shifter on it. I haven't seen a bike with one of those in years and years. Hmmm, wonder why? David G.

  8. I have to have double standards. There's no way it would be fair to hold any one else to the standards to which I hold my self. The only thing I find truly offensive is wilful ignorance; refusing to educate and improve onesellf goes against everything that makes us human. When people refuse to take the time to remove mold seams in visible locations, or learn how to communicate effectively on message boards, that's annoying. When the same people defend these actions by claiming that those who ask them to open their minds to education and improvement are being overly demanding, unreasonable or just plain mean, that's truly offensive behavior. Either way, I just have to shake my head and walk away. If someone doesn't want to improve themselves and grow, it's not my problem. I'll be back to restate my opinion in a few months when the "Basic Skills" and "Plain English" topics are reintroduced. Until then, thanks for putting up with my rant... again. David G.
  9. I bought it at The Hobby Bench here in Phoenix. Its natural color is a pale green, but I don't recall any name brand associated with it. When I found it, I bought a couple of feet of it and still have quite a bit of it left, so I haven't looked for any lately. Check at Michaels or some other similar outlet, if you can't find any, let me know and I'll see if I can locate some for you here. David G.
  10. A few years ago I found some screen-mesh type of fabric at my LHS in the section where ribbons and such are sold. I painted some of this material and used it to simulate chain link mesh in the windows of my Reaver. Quite effective, if you ask me. David G.
  11. Looks like a clean, tight build- nice painting detail. Welcome to the MCM forum too! David G.

  16. Or, like Andy said, you can file and sand away the inner portion of the grille, making it more like a 1:1 grille. There would be no need to paint the recesses black if they're not there, Here are a couple of pics of a 55 Chevy on which I filed away the back of the grille. On this shot, you can see just a glimpse of silver from one of the fan motors on the front of the radiator. From the top, you can better see how I filed away the entire back of the grille, leaving just the "eggcrate" front portion. It's just another option to explore; I hope you found the information helpful. David G.
  17. I'm sorry, what's a "lizard"? David G.
  18. There are lots of photos, but I don't understand what you're doing. I'm not familiar enough with working on diecast models to know what is being changed or modified and to what end. Thanks, David G.
