How about newspapers not only from a different location, but also from a different time. I recently unpacked some items that I had packed away when I moved from Akron to Phoenix... in 1989! Talk about a strange sweep of nostalgia.

Bob- thanks for the kind comments and the advise on the Future; I do have some, I just wasn't sure of the best application method.
Jim- Thanks! It's SHINY too... and it'll be even more so once I put the future to it!
It may take me a while, but there'll be more- and hopefully better pics in the Future.

There are a whole lot excellent builds here. I'm impressed by the variety of interpretations arising from such a simple kit.
Now it's time to add mine to the mix.
Minor detail added...
I replaced the plastic nerf bars with chrome paperclip wire and reworked the muffler.
The decals are from the Revell VW Bus kit.
I replaced that horrible rear seat with some "plywood". I've actually seen this done in a couple of 1:1's.
Dash detail with one of those wooden steering wheels so popular in the 60's &70's.
I still need to add the license plate and figure out some way to clear coat the decals (advise?), but essentially, it's done.
Thanks for looking,
David G.
I love this hobby, so don't get me wrong. But why should I care if this hobby fades and dies after I'm gone? I won't be here to enjoy it, and if those who are here don't enjoy it, what's the point?
There are probably dozens of hobbies that have faded away since the start of the 20th century, and most people don't even know that they're gone.
I just want to enjoy building models cars and anything else that catches my fancy while I'm still here and can still enjoy it.

My grandfather was a pro-genator
No offense meant Erik, I just couldn't pass that one up.
By the way, Congratulations on the article in MCM! You have some great builds there.

That's exactly what I do too. Mine is a multi-purpose, office, gaming, web-surfing, writing, model-building, work area. I usually have to put something away to do something else.

My username is just my first name and last initial. My avatar is something I drew a while back; I call it the Warhawk. It fits my current mood and frame of mind.
