  1. I'm interested to see how all this comes out. It looks good so far. David G.
  2. Spectacular work on the doors Andy! The rest of the model is a sight to behold too, exceedingly well built and detailed. David G.
  3. Hello Everybody! Work on the Lincoln Futura continues and here's proof! The next step is to get the rear bumper to fit flush with the body. Remember those corners I built out? I intentionally overbuilt them to allow room for adjustment. Well, it's time for that adjustment. Much better! As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to post any comments you may have. David G.
  4. Even after 40 years it still looks great Helmut! Thank you for posting it. David G.
  5. The seat will look much better like that. The body is coming quite nicely too. David G.
  6. Looking Daniel! David G.
  7. Impressive work as always! David G.
  8. I'd say you nailed it Robert! Your rust painting technique yields some very convincing results! David G.
  9. That paint looks fabulous Nicholas! Also, all the little details you've tucked into every little corner of this build really bring it to life. David G.
  10. Hello Everybody! It's been a little while since I posted an update to the Northrop P-61 Black Widow, so here it is. Masking for a test shot of primer then hopefully some color. The seam blending looked pretty good so I shot some Tamiya AS-29 Gray Green. I also started assembling the turret and threw it in for a test fit. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to post any comments you may wish to share. David G.
  11. I just found this WIP and I have to say I've enjoyed watching the evolution of this build. That's going to be one great looking hot rod when it's done. David G.
  12. Thanks for the feedback Bill, I'm glad you found it useful. David G.
  13. Not to worry Jim, I'm not offended at all. I meant to say that I was considering the suggestion you offered ...because you offered it. I hadn't really thought about just removing the tint all together. The only thought I had was finding a way to make it work. I sometimes get stuck on a particular outcome and you helped me to consider a different option. Thank you. David G.
  14. Hello Everybody! The push toward the finish line continues! I continue with the application of more BMF! It usually takes me several one to two hour build sessions to complete the foil work on an average American car. This most recent batch of BMF is much better than the last batch I ordered several years ago. This stuff actually sticks! The other batch did not. It would literally fall off the model like a tree leaf in Autumn. The only trouble with this batch is the adhesive it leaves behind after the excess foil is trimmed and removed. The residual adhesive is easily removed with some mineral spirits and cotton buds... But that's an entire build session or two being used for something that shouldn't need to be done. And there's always a chance of damaging the paint. That's it for this round! As always, thanks for looking and please feel free to share your comments. David G.
  15. Ya know? I'm actually considering that suggestion Jim. More people would be likely notice presence of a feature of marginal quality than notice the lack thereof. Thank you Will. David G.
  16. Excellent work on this Jason! It's really cool seeing how the 3D printed items supplement the kit. David G.
  17. A fabulous looking Chevelle, well done! David G.
  18. You've made a great start on this Robert! The engine weathering and rust look right so far. David G.
  19. I did a WIP for the Polar Lights issue back in 2017 which shows the basic interior and some of the upgrades I made. There's a world of difference between the Aoshima and Polar Lights versions. Let me know what you think Bill. David G.
  20. In either case, no they didn't.
  21. Hello Everybody! I realized the other day that I started this build back in May and I'm beginning to feel the need to have it completed. So I'm going to focus my next few build sessions on accomplishing that. I started applying some BMF to the side spears and drip rails. I find it's often best to do the foiling in stages. Most cars of this era had a tint strip across the top of the windshield. I often try to replicate this with varying degrees of success. This time I brush painted some Tamiya X-23 Clear Blue. It dried a little frosty. I may try to fix that... or I mat decide to live with it. As always, thanks for taking a look and please feel free to comment if one so desires. David G.
  22. Nicely done! I really like the personal touches you added. David G.
  23. Thanks for posting this WIP Bill. It's very helpful knowing what's in the kit and a pleasure to see what you do with it. Thanks, David G.
  24. Beautifully done Bill! I like Aoshima's version better than Polar Lights, lots more of the interior detail represented. David G.
