  1. I finished something! My interpretation of the Baja Bronco. This is a great kit if you haven't built one yet. I used Fireball Modelworks parts for the wheels and tires (and the spare), and also for the "cactus smasher" push bar and the Daylighter lights. Seatbelts and buckles came from Gofer Racing parts, and I made a set of exhaust tips from aluminum tubing. Tamiya paints throughout. Our club does a common kit build off - and members have most of the year to work on their builds, with the "big reveal" during our December meeting. It's probably my favorite club activity. (Misfit Modelers, we meet at Hanger 18 Hobbies in Cary, NC). A few pics of my build, and then I'll add pics of some of the others that were at the meeting. And here are few of the other club members' builds. The Misfit Modelers are a creative bunch of guys and if you're ever in the Raleigh / Cary area, you'll find us rollin' 'round the tabletop at Hanger 18 Hobbies.
  2. Bringing the thread back, for those of us who might not have seen Syclone components in an S-10 body, check this out (I am NOT affiliated with the truck, seller, etc., just thought it was interesting): Syclone-Powered 1992 Chevrolet S-10 4×4 5-Speed https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-chevrolet-s-10-2/
  3. I gave up and requested a refund from PayPal. I feel bad for the guy, but it's pretty easy to update a website to say "I'm temporarily unable to take orders" or whatever. I placed my order and then got no reply from his email address, I tried reaching out via facebook (he has items listed there, too) and still didn't hear anything. After contacting his brother through messaging on this site, he did tell me that he's been going through a bad patch - and I hate to hear that. But, I wouldn't hold my breath expecting parts anytime soon. I do hope things turn around for him, but if you have the capability to build a website, you can just as easily put up some boilerplate that states orders are not being processed or whatever. Communication goes a long ways ....
  4. Beautiful work; very realistic weathering and details.
  5. That is the coolest thing I've seen all day. Wow!
  6. Thank you all for your help identifying these! One of the many, many great things about this board is everyone's willingness to help with even oddball stuff.
  7. It's a mystery! Looking at Scalemates.com, I thought it might be the Ebbro 1/20 Lotus 49C, but the wing is wrong for that, based on the instructions on that site. Almost everything else matches. Well, I think so anyway. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/6/5/2/155652-34-instructions.pdf https://www.scalemates.com/kits/ebbro-20006-lotus-49c--155652
  8. I'm wondering if this is actually something other than 1/25 or 1/24 scale. It seems a touch bigger than other stuff I have.
  9. I picked up a few kits some months ago, and these three were in the lot. I believe the two Indy cars (Indy? Formula?) to be Lotus cars - but I'm not sure. The Porsche also has me stumped. Clearly it's a 911, or something related to the 911, but I'm trying to identify the kit. Any ideas?
  10. A Studebaker or Hudson pickup would be very popular Maybe that's next? One can only hope.
  11. Beautiful build! Really like the color!
  12. Uhm... pretty cool to say the least.
  13. The red frame and seats! Very cool.
  14. I wish Mr. Olson well, also. Sounds like he's been through a real rough patch of late. But, you do think he'd update his website and Facebook page to indicate that either he's not taking orders or is behind or whatever. Or give the information to someone he trusts and have them do it for him. I gave up on my order and asked PayPal to start the refund process. We'll see how that goes. As to Fireball Modelworks - incredible pieces and great pricing! 5 Stars!
  15. I am enjoying watching your progress. I've been thinking about buying this kit.
  16. I'd like to build the 1957 Chevy that Fireball Roberts ran at the 1958 Darlington race. It appears to have had 6 lug wheels, carburetor and not fuel injection, and presumably a basic rollcage - which I guess was black. I have the Fred Cady decals and that's about it. The goal: Available kits for me to pick from: Was considering using the Revell Black Widow kit for chassis and interior, although the FI engine would be incorrect. Thoughts?
  17. I, too, got my replacement parts. I'm happy with them. Looking forward to building this one.
  18. This is an incredible build. We were fortunate enough to have Sam bring this to our local club last earlier this month.
  19. These are amazing. Glad you brought your Ecto to the club meeting earlier
  20. Nice work! One of my favorite cars from the movie, actually.
  21. Wow! I love this build
  22. The markings inside the van are a nice touch!
  23. That is an excellent way to fix the weird side trim on the AMT kit! Very cool build.
