Thank you - I agree, I like the color. I mean, I get why Ferrari would paint the original one red and all. You definitely need to pick one up and give it a try. Thank you. I'm thinking shades of gray and black for the interior, at least right now. I do like the idea of a contrasting interior, though. Tamiya's Mica Red is a great color.

I picked this up when they first came out around 1990 or so. I actually started the kit in late 2002 or early 2003; but then life happened and the partly assembled kit was put back in the box. I recently dug it out and decided to finish it. Here's what I've done so far: This is the kit as I dug it out of the stash. Originally, I'd planned to paint it silver (who wants a red one-off Ferrari, anyway?!?). Prior to putting the kit away, I had finished the engine, and I'd primed, painted, striped, primed, painted ... (as per my usual method of painting, it seems) the body. For the late 2022, early 2023 restart of the kit, I decided to go with Tamiya Light Gun Metal for the body color. And various Tamiya black paints for the underbody More to come (I hope!) ....

Maybe this is old news to everyone but me. I came across a couple of pictures of this car while researching cars raced in '57 and '58. Does anyone know anything about this car? Do decals exist to build this? I did find some information at this link: https://www.audrainautomuseum.org/racetrack-to-the-opera/1957-chevrolet-150-black-widow

Tamiya Ferrari Testarossa 1:24 90s Magic!
Jonathan replied to Funkychiken's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Wasn't this featured in Scale Auto Enthusiast or Car Modeler years ago? Such an awesome build! (Not to continue the thread hijack - very nice work on the current build, Atin! Sharply defined and painted details are really turning into nice work! ) -
I finished something! My interpretation of the Baja Bronco. This is a great kit if you haven't built one yet. I used Fireball Modelworks parts for the wheels and tires (and the spare), and also for the "cactus smasher" push bar and the Daylighter lights. Seatbelts and buckles came from Gofer Racing parts, and I made a set of exhaust tips from aluminum tubing. Tamiya paints throughout. Our club does a common kit build off - and members have most of the year to work on their builds, with the "big reveal" during our December meeting. It's probably my favorite club activity. (Misfit Modelers, we meet at Hanger 18 Hobbies in Cary, NC). A few pics of my build, and then I'll add pics of some of the others that were at the meeting. And here are few of the other club members' builds. The Misfit Modelers are a creative bunch of guys and if you're ever in the Raleigh / Cary area, you'll find us rollin' 'round the tabletop at Hanger 18 Hobbies.

Will we ever see the Monogram S-10 again?

Bringing the thread back, for those of us who might not have seen Syclone components in an S-10 body, check this out (I am NOT affiliated with the truck, seller, etc., just thought it was interesting): Syclone-Powered 1992 Chevrolet S-10 4×4 5-Speed https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-chevrolet-s-10-2/ -
I gave up and requested a refund from PayPal. I feel bad for the guy, but it's pretty easy to update a website to say "I'm temporarily unable to take orders" or whatever. I placed my order and then got no reply from his email address, I tried reaching out via facebook (he has items listed there, too) and still didn't hear anything. After contacting his brother through messaging on this site, he did tell me that he's been going through a bad patch - and I hate to hear that. But, I wouldn't hold my breath expecting parts anytime soon. I do hope things turn around for him, but if you have the capability to build a website, you can just as easily put up some boilerplate that states orders are not being processed or whatever. Communication goes a long ways ....

Trying to identify these built ups

It's a mystery! Looking at Scalemates.com, I thought it might be the Ebbro 1/20 Lotus 49C, but the wing is wrong for that, based on the instructions on that site. Almost everything else matches. Well, I think so anyway. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/6/5/2/155652-34-instructions.pdf https://www.scalemates.com/kits/ebbro-20006-lotus-49c--155652 -
Trying to identify these built ups
Jonathan replied to Jonathan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'm wondering if this is actually something other than 1/25 or 1/24 scale. It seems a touch bigger than other stuff I have. -
I picked up a few kits some months ago, and these three were in the lot. I believe the two Indy cars (Indy? Formula?) to be Lotus cars - but I'm not sure. The Porsche also has me stumped. Clearly it's a 911, or something related to the 911, but I'm trying to identify the kit. Any ideas?

A Studebaker or Hudson pickup would be very popular Maybe that's next? One can only hope.

The red frame and seats! Very cool. -
I wish Mr. Olson well, also. Sounds like he's been through a real rough patch of late. But, you do think he'd update his website and Facebook page to indicate that either he's not taking orders or is behind or whatever. Or give the information to someone he trusts and have them do it for him. I gave up on my order and asked PayPal to start the refund process. We'll see how that goes. As to Fireball Modelworks - incredible pieces and great pricing! 5 Stars!

I am enjoying watching your progress. I've been thinking about buying this kit.
