  1. That is slick!
  2. Some cool stuff in this thread!
  3. Thanks, Andrew! Wheels arrived today - now I have more choices! (meaning - what should I do?) I'm still moving kind of slow on this one. I am trying to finish a 1/72 Mustang for a local contest (I shouldn't have entered, but I'm sooo close). Then, it's back to the Syclone!
  4. Thank you. I'm moving kind of slow. I have a couple of other projects that I'm working on for a local club contest. As always, too many irons in the fire. Thank you!
  5. "Gee, Brain, what do you want to do tonight?" First shot of Tamiya pink primer. And boy-oh-boy, just look at those issues! I did shoot a coat of red over this pink primer as a test (spoon) and the pink really brightens the red.
  6. Little update. Not as much bench time as I'd like lately ... I think the steering wheel from the Revell Oldsmobile 442/FE3-X will work just fine. Close enough for my purposes ... I need to fine-tune the body cladding some, but I think I'm getting there. I'm planning to leave the wheels as-is.
  7. So very cool. That video was well worth watching. Amazing work! One more question - do you have the Silhouette Portrait 1, 2, or 3?
  8. Really creative. I have a question on the Cricut you use .... Can you cut Frisket film to size and run that through the machine to make masks; or do you have to use their products only? Actually, I have a second question - would it be possible to score sheet plastic, if the plastic is too thick to cut, with the Cricut machine? I'm thinking it could be useful for getting consistently shaped panels to build something like a camper shell. Again, really superb work!
  9. I would never have expected these seats to be in that kit, but I think you're right.
  10. That's what I'm thinking, too. Wheels are currently in the purple pond, to strip the chrome and clean them up. I'll probably use Alclad II aluminum and Tamiya gloss black for the wheels. I cut up the seat that I have and have tweaked it to more look like what's in the pictures I've found. I'm hoping to try this as my first resin cast .... I did find that the "custom" steering wheel in the Revell Oldsmobile 442/FE3-X looks a whole like the steering wheel in the Marlboro Syclone. Not much update currently, you know "life". More to come soon, I hope ...
  11. The more I look at the wheels, the more I realize they're not even close. I guess the same era, at least?
  12. I know these not are the exact wheels used on the Marlboro Syclone, but I think with painted centers, it'll be close enough. I found these on eBay and hopefully they'll be here soon. At least to the casual observer, I hope, I can come close to these... Also, can anyone identify this seat? I found one in my spares, but I have no idea where it came from. I did buy a mixed lot of seats several years ago, and I guess it's from that; but I don't what kit this belongs to. I think I can get close to the seats used in the truck by starting with this. Problem is, I only have the one. Maybe it's finally time to learn how to cast resin copies? (Ignore the "line" at the front of the seat) Here's what I'm trying to replicate:
  13. I'd use Tamiya Oxide Red or Tamiya Gray Primer, followed by the TS-40. But that's just me. I've felt that I've been more successful spraying over than primer than not. But, people have had great success with and without primer.
  14. That is incredible work!
  15. Awesome! I love seeing these sorts of sponsors; and I really Texas Pete!
