  1. Debating on whether to fix the chip under the windshield, repaint the entire cab, or just roll with it. For this particular build, I don't want to do anything very weathered, so I guess I need to fix the chip somehow ...
  2. Bummer. I was just wondering. I've always been partial to these trucks. Of all the trucks that have been in the family between all of us - I think the first generation S-10 remains my favorite.
  3. Agreed - you going to cast these and make them available for the rest of us ?
  4. Why did you sell it, if I can ask? Thank you. The 3-n-1 kit is the one to have if you can find it. I sold one a little while back and wish that I'd kept it. I never understood the 1/20 scale kits - they don't fit well with anything in the cabinet. Have you built that kit? Just wondering how it builds up...
  5. Nearing the scary part - final assembly... And then I realized - I chipped the paint just under the windshield, behind the cowl. ARGHH!!! Should I repaint the cab? The paint is a tad thin on the roof. Of course, if I repaint, there is the (very high) probability that it will look worse once I'm done with it. ?
  6. That is epic. I love these sorts of builds. Very nice.
  7. I'm just going to say it again I think people would buy a 1st generation S10/S15 extended cab transkit. And they'd buy a long bed transkit.
  8. Wow! Just wow! This is epic craftmanship! *gets popcorn, pulls up chair*
  9. My Dad had a 90 (I think, maybe 89?) 4.3, extended cab. Between the trucks that he and I have owned, I think that is still my favorite. He sold it with around 250k miles on it; next guy kept it for another 100k before unloading it. I'd love to find a first generation one in good shape!
  10. Decided to redo the wheels in aluminum ... Also, a shot of the underside ...
  11. I suppose we all know this kit shares parts with the Revell Syclone and somewhere along the way, tooling was misplaced, damaged, or whatever. The kit, out of the box, gives you Chevrolet S-10 body panels, wheels, trim; and gives you the GMC Syclone drivetrain setup. I'm ok with that, although I would really love a plain-jane S10. Anyway, I have a few of these in the stash and started working on one last month (December). Here's where I am so far. Wheels are not attached, and I'm thinking of striping them and going back with an aluminum finish. In these pictures, wheels are Alclad II Black Chrome. Other metallic finishes are either Alclad II Chrome or Tamiya spray lacquer Gloss Aluminum TS-17. Tamiya washes used throughout. Pardon the dust.
  12. I think I have kit 24085, which is boxed as the "Mazda Eunos". I didn't realized there was a RHD version of the kit.
  13. Wow! Nice picture of the 1:1 car there! Oh wait, that's a model?!?!?!?
  14. This is great! Really love seeing all the details that you're adding.
  15. Been a while since anyone brought this up - this is a great project. Has anyone done a LHD for the old Tamiya Miata/Eunos?
  16. What a boat! I missed this the last time, too. So, looking forward to picking it up.
  17. I think it's one of the coolest "utes" I've seen in a long time - I love these sorts of mashups. Do you have more pictures? In progress shots?
  18. Nice work! It is a great little kit!
  19. That is sharp!
  20. I don't know how I missed this before. What a beautiful build!
  21. So very cool.....
