I was gifted this kit for Christmas and recently came across this thread. Really great work in tackling the side trim - have you made any additional progress?
Decided to try to fix the paint. But ultimately ended up opening another kit and robbing the body from it (I'll use the one I'm stripping later).
Now on to some light polishing, trim paint, and decals. I hope.
Thank you all for the help in identifying a wheel that might be passable. I've put a post in the Wanted section for the wheels from the Blazer kit. Hopefully, someone will have a set because they used the other wheels in their kit or something....
Debating on whether to fix the chip under the windshield, repaint the entire cab, or just roll with it. For this particular build, I don't want to do anything very weathered, so I guess I need to fix the chip somehow ...
Bummer. I was just wondering. I've always been partial to these trucks. Of all the trucks that have been in the family between all of us - I think the first generation S-10 remains my favorite.
Why did you sell it, if I can ask?
Thank you.
The 3-n-1 kit is the one to have if you can find it. I sold one a little while back and wish that I'd kept it.
I never understood the 1/20 scale kits - they don't fit well with anything in the cabinet. Have you built that kit? Just wondering how it builds up...
Nearing the scary part - final assembly...
And then I realized - I chipped the paint just under the windshield, behind the cowl. ARGHH!!! Should I repaint the cab? The paint is a tad thin on the roof. Of course, if I repaint, there is the (very high) probability that it will look worse once I'm done with it. ?
