  1. Quoting Casey from last decade, I realize. But -- and you all know this I am sure -- Casey is a super great guy to do any work with! He is an absolute asset to our community here and to our hobby in general.
  2. Nice build. I've always liked these kits. The color looks great.
  3. I have the Custom Silverado and Waverider Boat, kit #85-7666 in my stash. Sadly, it only includes the custom grill and headlights. If I could get ahold of the stock front end treatment, I'd be pretty happy.
  4. Cool! I'm not sure I've ever seen the "hard top" successfully used on this kit. Nice work.
  5. Wow! What a difference your improvement makes to the overall appearance of the kit. Somebody call Round2 and tell them to look at Eric's work!
  6. Thank you Of all the trucks that have been in our family, I still think the square body S-10 is my favorite. I wish someone would do a good extended cab conversion for this kit.
  7. I agree, this is a work of art.
  8. Really excellent craftsmanship! Nice to see this one completed.
  9. I really like this kit and it's variations - I guess because my Dad had a 4.3 S-10 4x4 for years, and it remains my favorite pickup. (sidebar - if you have a S-10, first generation, extended cab, 4x4 in good shape ....) And yeah, I know - it's a bit of a mixed bag in terms of having it's origins in the diecast from waaaay back (has anyone ever actually seen one of these?) So far, I've built the Revell (black plastic) Syclone, the Monogram 3-n-1 "Lowrider", and the recently reissued (Revell label) "Street Sweeper". Having just finished the Street Sweeper, I got the other two out of the cabinet and thought I'd share. (I may have posted these individually before ... I apologize if that is the case.) I have several different ideas for future builds using this kit. I hope I can pull them off. I finished the Syclone in a non-standard silver/gray scheme, using the now defunct Testor's One Coat lacquers - Diamond Dust and something Silver. The white S-10 ("street sweeper") and the red/silver S-10 are both finished in Tamiya lacquers. I sourced rally wheels and tires from something by AMT for the red/silver S-10. Aside from that, they're all built out of the box. You really see your mistakes when you take pictures of your builds!
  10. agreed. I need to dig my mess out again and try to make something of it ...
  11. I like what you're doing with this!
  12. I hadn't even considered the steering wheel ... ?
  13. Here are a few in progress shots of my build, along with some awesome real GM S Body pickups people shared - thanks for that! Here is my take on the recently issued Revell S-10 Street Sleeper. I've picked up a few of the kits, with the intention of building my Dad's extended cab that he had while I was in college. I'm hoping to build up to slicing two of these to make Dad's extended cab. I loved that truck. I realize the current issue is really the Revell/Monogram Syclone running gear, the S-10 4x4 wheels, and the S-10 trim. But to the casual observer, I think it looks like an S-10. Here's my most first build of the reissue: The hood actually does close properly I need to add the license plate, and paint the bowtie (the kit does include a red bowtie for the grill) And of course ... as I put the passenger side wiper on it, I dropped the wiper - with a little bit of glue on it and BAM! Right on the hood! *sigh*
  14. Does anyone know if these wheels and tires were available in any other kit? I had this kit - and sold it (what was I thinking!?!?) Some time later, I realized that I really, really would like to have the wheels and tires for another project. I'm hoping someone on here has these wheels and tires and thinks they're too ugly and would like to unload/swap them. Apologies for using someone else' picture. Live and Learn? Maybe. Sigh ....
  15. Wow! That is craftsmanship! Thank you for sharing.
  16. Farm Truck might be more famous, but between Farm Truck and my Grandfather's farm truck - I'd take my Grandfather's every time. I really love all of the detail you've captured.
  17. That boxart! There are no words. Excellent work on the build
  18. That is a cool project! At first, when I saw "Farmtruck" - I thought of this
  19. What an awesome build. I recently bought a 2004 Silverado; really love what you're doing here!
  20. I sold one of those kits a few months back - kind of wish I'd kept it!
  21. Cool! Love the 80's vibe of those decals ...
