  1. I have completely enjoyed about Real Or Model, sometimes there have been pictures where it has been absolutely impossible to see if it is Real or Model. Auto ID Quiz is very fun too.
  2. Why Would you buy a Hummer because you can get something a bit bigger? http://www.snotr.com/video/7581/Top_Gear_-_The_Marauder "This is a good Town Car"
  3. I visited in On The Workbench yesterday and this thread had Fifteen pages. Now there's couple of pages of comments about incorrectly assembled Valve covers! Okay I got it too, they are wrongly mounted. But and this is a big BUT, I do believe that once John gets everything assembled, detailed and installed the engine, no one would notice the Valve covers if they were not mentioned 1,000,000 times in this thread. This build is absolutely out of this world, I'm completely blown away, doesn't matter how those Valve Covers are installed. Keep it going John!
  4. Oh I saw two bodies I really want and what I've wanted for a long time. The Corvette Nomad and that Ford Bronco are really good looking bodies. I have to get them at some point I guess. Great thread, I'll keep an eye on this one.
  5. Today I got some clear on the body. It looks pretty good now, well it of course needs polishing, but otherwise I like it. Now I will let it dry maybe a Week or so, and then start the polishing process. I might work on the details that time.
  6. Okay I F-I-N-A-L-L-Y have the Dashboard filled with bondo. There was quite large sink mark or what it is called, and it needed to be filled. Next some sanding, and then some paint. Hope to get the interior done soon. You can see '57 Chevy Black Widow on the back, hope to get that one done in a Month or two, let's see when I can paint it, now it's still in the bondo-sanding stage...
  7. Thanks Ken! I was drooling your Catalina so much that I couldn't get a word from my mouth. You did Excellent job with it. Yes, both of us really like Stockers, Super Stockers and of course Junior Stockers and other stuff. I just wish Mika would get something more done than painted engine block...
  8. Wow I was really suprised to see this old thread at the top of the page again! Thanks Jeremy, and I do agree, it's very nice to see what is currently being built in The USA, there's so much talented builders.
  9. Thanks Steve and Jeremy! Not much more done yet, but I think I might continue the progress with interior. The body should be primered, too.
  10. Hey Kenn if you're having trouble with Photobucket, make another account and upload your pics there. It makes this thread more fun to follow when the pictures don't need to be enlarged, and it maybe makes them easier to post, too? I don't know, I have never used the Thumbnails system. I made another Photobucket account too while back, and without it I guess my Photobucket account would have been full of pics soon, too. Anyway the model looks excellent so far. I really like how the Wheels look. Hmm, that might be worth trying since I need wire wheels for couple of Front Engine Dragster projects....
  11. Thanks guys! I will start looking for one of those engines and once I find one, I could start building. I have the Lindberg '64 Dodge bought as a Donor car, the chassis really fits nicely and all I need is just the engine what was missing from the '64 Dodge kit. I think I have one of those AMT '49 Mercury engines somewhere...
  12. Hey guys, are you already in Long Beach, has the race even started or are you somewhere between the start and Finish lines? So this means that I haven't seen the vote, did I miss it or if I didn't, what was the result? My Camaro is Finally BLACK! I thought that it was smooth enough and decided to shoot some color on it. Hopefully I can clear coat it tomorrow to make it shine.
  13. Okay I'm slowly thinking of starting this build, and well it might not be a suprise to anyone that since I'm building, it will be Stock Eliminator Drag Car with 383 Cid engine. So my question is: Where can I find correct 383 for 1960 year model, or if it can be modified from another engine?
  14. Bill just said what I was going to. I have always enjoyed about the style of your builds, too. I'm a Hot Rod guy too and really like them, but somehow I build them only a few in smaller scale. Maybe it would be a time to fix that problem... Also when I like Old School stuff, it's pretty obvious that I enjoy following these threads! I like what you did for the interior and wheels. They look Great! Color choice is perfect also. I'm tuned in for more.
  15. There are some pics of what I think are good colors for '30s Fords. Actually all of these cars are Located in Finland.
  16. If I didn't know that the chassis is scratchbuilt, I would swear that it's from a kit. You did fantastic job with it, same thing with the body-it's looking excellent. I really like what you did with the grille. This is one of the threads I come back to see many times a day, it's just so nice to see how styrene bends in your hands. I can't wait to see more.
  17. Some of AMT kits are excellent, some of them are not so excellent. I have built a few Muscle Car kits myself, and then I've seen pictures of others or then I've seen what's inside the box at my friend's place. '66 Oldsmobile 442 W30 '67 Impala SS '71 Plymouth Duster '66 Nova '67 Chevrolet Chevelle (Both, AMT and Revell have good kits of this car). '70 Camaro Baldvin Motion '66 Fairlane 427 And then there are some kits that could be like "Muscle Before A Muscle Car"... '62 Catalina '62 Bel Air Bubbletop
  18. It's '59 Simca Vedette Gasser. Resin body made by Air Trax with Miss Deal Studebaker chassis. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=65034
  19. Thanks Dave! It's always nice to have some people who like seeing my builds. I have been busy this week, and have not had time to update this thread. But I have managed to finish the Carburetor detailing. I scratchbuilt the Carburetor Linkage, which actually needs return spring yet and one linkage to the firewall, but I will add those when the engine is installed. Also I got the spark plug wires on. Fuel line is made from different materials, not perfect but since it will be covered with the air hose-system, I think it's good enough. Also I mocked up the Front Wheels to the tires. They look much better now since the Chrome plating has some flat clear on it.
  20. Where did you get those Eddie Meyer parts to Flathead? Who makes them? I saw them somewhere few years ago, but did not buy them and never seen them anymore. I should have bought the set back then. Really nice work with it so far. I like seeing Traditional cars being built.
  21. They are really easy to build from solder. Only those collectors are causing me trouble, but the Headers turned out okay on this one. First I drilled holes for the Headers, glued solder there and after that I just started to bend them.
  22. I'm thinking if I should buy this '73 Chevelle too, not sure yet though. The '79-'81 Chevy Malibu would interest me too, so I'm thinking which one I should buy... Well when the '74 comes out, then I got to get few of them! A question: How will these be available? I mean that once they got sold out at some point (I guess they will do), will there be more or is it just one run?
  23. They are available, but I don't know who makes them. Here's a quote from Randy Ayers' NASCAR Modeling Forum: This is Hayden Proffitt's 62 Chevy. A big thanks needs to go to Charlie Kroll for informing me that the kit decals were not accurate and for picking me up a set of good decals in Toledo this past year.
  24. Absolutely Fantastic Oldsmobile Custom, I'm not surpised of your First Place! Color combo works great on this one and I really like the way hood, Trunk and doors open, really nice job. Nice job with the Chop Top, too. Nice and smooth build.
  25. Oh, yes of course Revell makes '66 Chevelle kit. How didn't I remember that? Nice build anyway!
