  1. This is great build, and I'm glad to see, you're getting back to it. '70 Cuda looks much better than '71, I think. Can't wait to see more of this build, hope you're going to make some progress with it now.
  2. Thanks, Brandon. So then I can paint the block, as I had planned, and needs to look for that oil pan, what does the kit have and is it good or not. Thanks. Information about those other parts would be very appreciated too.
  3. Getting back to my NASCAR projects, Jeff Gordon's Automotive Finishes Monte Carlo, and '72 Torino Oval Racer...

  4. Sorry, I'm asking engine colors again, but does anyone know, what is correct engine color for Super Stock Hemi back in the day? I have Jo-Han's '71 Sox & Martin Cuda which will be Nostalgic Super Stocker, and I'd like to hear about the colors of: -Engine block -Transmission -Cylinder Heads -Oil Pan (was it original type, or aluminuim etc.) -Intake Manifold -Water pump And of course, if you know some other colors, which were "special", I'd like to hear them too. Thanks.
  5. Thanks for the reply. I've been thinking about that color too, but can't be sure about it.
  6. Here comes: -V8 Magazine -Primer -Fuel Magazine -Gasoline And then some Magazines, what are usually bought from the shop. -Gasser Magazine -Car Craft -Rod&Custom -Popular Hot Rodding -Hot Rod -Mobilisti -Power Magazine -Rebel Rodz -Scale Auto And some others too, but can't remember them all. And soon I will order Model Cars Magazine, I haven't it yet, because it can't be bought from Finland, as Scale Auto. But I will order it soon.
  7. This is coming along nicely! Interesting build, Vega FC is great subject. Nice job with the modifications, you've done. Can't wait to see more, this is going to be another breathtaking Vega Build.
  8. So title says it all, what's the correct engine color for 1970 429 Cobra Jet? I'm building '70 Ford Torino for E/Stock category, and I need to know engine color. Any help would be really appreciated. -Niko
  9. Juha Airio and Tapani Rauramo cast these, and I've heard, that they are good quality. I have one (damaged body, it was cheap) and that's pretty good too. And these look very good when they are built. http://public.fotki.com/unturalli/volvo-p-1800/ Here's one... http://public.fotki.com/antikainen/resin-ford-anglia-1/ Here's another. (And these are not my pictures) These pictures show, that it's possible to build nice model from AirTrax kits.
  10. Thanks, Randy! Not so much extrawork on this one, but you are right, it paid off. Thanks, Glenn! Yeah, there were some fit issues, and I was just wondering, how anyone can build this kit without glue? Box top says that No Glue or paint needed... I can't understand, how is that possible. Thanks, Danno! That year model is the best, I've heard, because it feels like nobody knows, what this is really. '49½ sounds good.
  11. Well this is cool! This is looking very good. I like that matt black color, it fits nicely to this style, and those stripes are great too. Engine detailing is great, those plug wires run as in 1:1 car, and headers are very realistic. I like that shifter too, and wheel & tire combo is perfect. Thanks for sharing, this is really nice build.
  12. Another Old School Style Hot Rod! Great to see that someone builds these Traditional Hot Rods and Customs too, great looking start. That chopped top is just perfect, and hood fits nicely to the look. Thanks for sharing, I will be watching this one!
  13. Red smoke... Look at this Finnish Limousine. It has Chevy BBC, I believe.
  14. Well this is looking amazing. Can't wait to see more. Engine detailing is great, and chassis work is really great so far. I'm sure, this will be very nice Mustang when finished. I'll be watching.
  15. My latest completed build for 2011. Maybe two more coming, if everything goes as I've planned. This is MPC kit, which was '50 Mercury when it was released, but round 2 release was from '49 Mercury! So this can be 1950 year model. I got this for free from Model Car Contest, and I started building from the interior. I used Humbroll brown colors, and some satin clear coat. I painted the dashboard like wood, and steering wheel too. Nothing special on the detailing there. On the chassis I changed the tires, because those original ones were hard plastic. I fitted those kit wheels and wheel backs on those new tires. Chassis plate was painted as many colors as usual, even if it was molded very simple. I also built new axles from brass (those what go inside rear axle cover, you know.). Body needed bit bondo, but after that I primered it and painted with Maston gloss black. Then decals... They were pretty hard to instal correctly. After clearcoat, I had to paint some white over the decals, because there were some cracks and so on. But then some waxing and BMF. There were some problems with the final assembly with the headlights, and antenna, but not so big things anyway. Here it is, the final result: PLEASE, let me Know, what you think!
  16. Doh, after Harry said, it's Monteverdi, I remembered the make. I didn't remember, what was the name of that make, so it brought no results for the model, from google. I've seen some Monteverdis, and they are pretty nice cars... ...Well, some of them.
  17. So that's why every time I joined the room, there were no new posts sent, I would have to update the browser? But great if it now works, needs to try.
  18. ! I'm not so interested about Beretta either, but after I test fitted scoop from '66 Nova Pro Street, I had to build it this style. Possibly one of the only ways to make Front wheel drive Beretta interesting. (Well, this is going to be Rear wheel drive Of Course!) Thanks!
  19. Hey, I know that-yesterday I managed to forget to foil door handles from '50 Mercury project. I will be fixing them today, but yes, I hate that too.
  20. Nice detailing on it, and I really like that driver idea. I haven't seen so much driver figures in models, and that is looking great. I'm not sure about the body style, not my favorite, but it will sure look good when finished anyway.
  21. Oh, it was Ferrari GTO, I was thinking about Pontiac GTO.... But really nice job you did, again. I like that color and those stripes just fit really nicely to the look. Thanks for sharing.
  22. They all look really nice, but that Corvette Stingray is my favorite. Detailing is really great in every one of them. Paintjobs are very nice too, great job with them.
  23. Thanks, Virgil! George, The rear chassis was cut away, and that's good, because I need to build completely new one anyway. I'm not going to install Pro Sportsman tires, maybe bit smaller ones, but they need more room anyway. Thanks for the comment, I will continue this one soon!
  24. I made hole for the hood, but maybe it needs to be bit bigger after all. I will fit scoop there anyway.
  25. Starting new project... I bought lots of glue bombs, and this was one of them. No paint was used, but rear wheel openings were cut bigger. They are too big now, I need to make them bit smaller. Otherwise really good basis for building Drag Race car. For the engine, I took Chevrolet's 427 BBC, but it will be converted to Merlin 632 Cid. big block. It will be with Tunnel Ram and two carburetors. After some test fitting, I started cutting room for that engine. Transmission is still missing, but I had to cut some material away from chassis plate and interior too. Now engine fits nicely, but still needs to remove more plastic for the transmission. I made that crossmember for the frame from orignal one, but I removed all of those front wheel drive parts, and glued only that crossmember piece on its place. It keeps that engine on right angle too, but I need to build engine mounts also. Anyway, here are some pictures for you:
