  1. Years ago when they first came out I bought all 4 colors. Wasn’t really impressed with them then. Sold off all my kits a few year ago and somehow traded around and ended up getting this one. Figured it would be a good stress reliever while taking a break from other builds. It’s actually not a bad kit as long as you take your time with it.

They are Chrome T’s from Pegasus Hobbies
  3. Snap kit that was a rather fun stress buster. It had the ugly yellow/beige interior so I primed and painted it Pontiac engine blue to be different. Painted and wired the engine. Pegasus Hella wheels.
  4. AMT soap box derby kit, started on it before I even really had an idea of what I wanted to do with it lol
  5. I’d like to get in on this, but I only have four 1971 cars in my stash and honestly they don’t really excite me lol but I’ll keep looking around and may find something to join in with.
  6. This. Right. Here. ^^^^ I had about 6 kits that I had started(2-3 years ago) and then BAM! I just lost all motivation. I was still buying kits and accessories and stuff, but I’d just open the box and look at it then put it away. There was a topic on the CBP section about “Replica “ builds and I jumped right into it( start another project, like I need anymore going) next thing I know I’ve not only completed my replica build but I have also finished 3 of my started projects, all in less than a couple of months. Once I get all of my projects done I’ve decided I’m going to try and concentrate on ONE build at a time from now on(WOW!, can’t believe I said that with a straight face). Yeah my motivation comes and goes. But it always comes back.
  7. What he said!! ^^^^ ??
  8. ?….. that firewall detail…… I quit…..again ?
  9. I still use Testors tube glue for some assembly. But I have learned the uses of CA glue(all consistencies) as well as using Tamiya liquid cement. I only use rattlecans for my paint jobs, but I have tried airbrushing. I used to cut and glue pieces together and not even give mold lines or little nibs a second thought. Now, thanks to advice I’ve received from here, I try to treat each sub-assembly as it’s own separate model. Mold lines get sanded down, each part gets smoothed and primed before paint. I also attach front and rear valance panels permanently before I paint and deal with assembly. Online information and reference availability has made a definite difference in my building from 40 years ago when I started til now. The amount of tools and detail items and accessories that is able to be used is just amazing.
  10. I’m just….WOWED by this build. I actually bought this kit to use the chassis under the GT500 kit but now I’m having second thoughts lol. I may have to purchase another one to build instead of part out. Keep up the great work sir! ??
  11. ???…….ok that’s it…….after seeing this build come together I quit ?? Beautiful build sir, I keep going back and look at the pics as the build has progressed and I am absolutely blown away by the level of detail that you have done to this car.
  12. Sorry for your loss sir. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
  13. Loving it so far, can’t wait to see it finished!

  17. Can’t go wrong with FC7 Plum Crazy Purple/In Violet ?
  18. I just listened to this for the first time in my 50 years. My wife is from upstate New York (Hopewell Junction/Fishkill area) and she confirmed it was a thanksgiving tradition.

Beautiful Mopar!! And I agree with the previous replies about the front fenders.
  20. I used to love watching NHRA on TV when the cars actually resembled what they were supposed to be. Now I have more fun going to my local 1/8th mile drag strip and watching true cars race.
  21. Thank you sir. It hasn’t even been cleared yet. That is Rustoleum gloss black straight out of the can.
  22. Started this kit last year sometime as a “quick build/slump buster”. Had it in my head how I wanted it to look when I was done. Painted the body and did a quick mock-up and then it went back in the box. Over the past year or 2 I’ve lost almost all motivation to build anything, I get to the paint/mock-up stage and it goes back in the box. Drug it out last weekend and decided to go in a totally different direction. First 3 pics are how it sat in the box for a few months and the rest are where it’s at right now.
  23. Great! Thanks! Now I’m gonna have to buy another kit for the wheels ?
  24. Looks awesome so far! What are those wheels from?
