  1. This is all the contact info I have: Harold Bradford Historic Racing Miniatures 14008 Adkins Road Laurel, MD 20708 301-604-8591 I just confirmed all the above with Harold. Steve
  2. Why is it some of you must hide behind your computers and bully the contributors here? Gregg said it again yesterday: "....be courteous to others, watch your spelling and grammar,...". And, these are NOT mutually exclusive! Just because someone can't or won't spell correctly doesn't give anyone the right to be discourteous to them. I've stopped posting here because it's a pain to log in. I took that abuse today to log in to post this. No need to reply because I won't go to the trouble to attempt to login and respond. That being said this needs to be said as well: GET A HOBBY - other than hiding behind your computers and bullying others. While I don't log in, I do follow what's going on here and I've been following JIMMY. At one time or another NONE of us could spell. So what if he's way behind on the spelling and grammar learning curve! At least he's got a hobby and he can build. I've seen what he's posted. He's helpful. If you don't want his help then just skip over his posts. If those that criticize Jimmy would channel that energy into improving their own modeling skills then the hobby would be better for it.
  3. Gregg's fix didn't help. I've requested to be put in contact with his technical support with a response from him. In fairness to you, Harry, you have consistently stated you can't help.
  4. I won't be responding to any posts or questions. It's just too frustrating dealing with the administration of this forum - both human and software-driven. As to the human kind: The inmates are running the assylum. As to the software kind it's just not worth. If I can eventually log in after six attempts, then it's only MINUTES before I get kicked off. The ONLY help I've received with this problem has come from members. None, zilch, nada has come from the so called administrators. Sorry about the brevity. I'd like to expxnd on my explanation but I fear being bumped off again. Steve
  5. OK, I had access to the neighbor's intelligent camera that recognizes purple. Here are pictures with PPG three-part urethane. Some were taken in bright sunlight. Others were taken indoors with the camera flash. I will use the UberMorton method of wait and then wait some more before cutting and buffing. In the interim I'll work on the interior and engine.
  6. Steve, Very clean and neat build. Nice job on the decals. Your model deserves more attention than it has received. It came out great.
  7. I haven't tried it. I suggest you try it. I use plastic spoons and record the paint sequence (includung primer)on the reverse for later reference.
  8. Yeah, and I'm closing the distance...........
  9. Elder abuse must stop! Quoting another elder, "Payback is a Bitch" and "Revenge is best served cold". So watch your backs. Those footsteps you think you hear in the dark parking lot may be mine..........................
  10. Outside! Ah, yes! Our life size dehydrator!
  11. Some places its spelled Plasti-kote, other times its Plastikote. Try here: http://www.plastikote.com/products/Primer/Sandable-Primer.html
  12. I don't know what the high was this summer. Ignorance is a wonderful tool! I do know the local weatherman said last Friday we did not set any new record high temperatures this year. Our cup is half full(or in this case is it half empty?)
  13. That is a finish to be proud of, Gary. And, is that David Morton in the reflection? Sorry, couldn't resist.
  14. Jeff, to give you an answer as to which is best would require me to have tried them all. Short of that, stick with a brand name that you find at national chain stores. Stay away from the all-in-one dispenser. I prefer seperate tubes for the resin and hardener. All epoxies I am aware of are two-part, mixed 1:1. The consistency will be similar to honey but it may thicken as the product ages. I buy clear one ounce cups at Smart N Final. Add equal parts and mix with a tooth pick for a minute or so. Then I use another tooth pick to apply it - sparingly. Be careful as it tends to separate from itself in strings or threads that can track across your model in the most undesirable locations.
  15. A short status report - no pictures to post. Well I have pictures but I won't post them and confuse the issue. Seems that I have a stupid camera. What we see as purple, the camera sees as blue. White balance adjustments don't work, flash adjustments don't, using fluorescent or natural light doesn't change a thing. The pictures I posted previously were from a neighbor's camera. That camera is available Friday so I'll post new pictures then of the clear coat. In the interim I'm going to build a clean room.
  16. Very nice, Mr. Raitz, very nice.
  17. I'm not chasing titles. I just get to login twice dispite receiving a "Login Successful" notice after the first time.
  18. Plasti-Kote sandable primer works for me.
  19. I think you may want to re-enginer those door hinges before you get any further in the build.
  20. "On the spoons; the only thing I'd recommend different is I'd go out & buy a box or a bag of white plastic spoons, not just for learning how to paint properly, but as you get better & more proficient at it, you'll find they come in handy for checking how a certain color/shade is going to look, especially over different color primers or base coats." Their about $4 per hundred at Smart n Final. I take the time to write on the concave side with a Sharpie just how I arrived at the color on the convex side.
  21. Try the "EDIT" buttom next. It's one of the few "do-overs" we get.
  22. I scratch built (yes I can say it because it was one part McDonald's coffee stirrer and one part 1/8 inch ID styrene tubing cut about 1/8 long) a measuring spoon for consistency. One of these measures went into each airbrush cup of clear. I tested all the various pearls on base white (as white pearl was my first goal) shot on plastic spoons. My Tamiya airbrush cup is about half the volume of the Paasche VL cup. They're the only two I have for reference. I ended up applying two coats of the clear carrier/pearl to acheive the results I wanted. It's not just a "by volume" equation.
  23. Ya! Like I can top the Master! I'll just paste links to all your posts on the topic and call it good. No use reinventing the process.
