  1. Now that is Impressive ! Is the tender brass or styrene ?
  2. Wow that trailer looks way better. I might have to do the same thing to the one I have - as it just looks off to me. That Pete is going to be a nice one also - Need a Cummins for it ?
  3. Today was tire scuffing day, even though it takes less then 30 seconds a tire I still dread the thought. Also did two snapper tires from my Pete to see how they would turn out. Terry, that short hood will go in a box for a future build. Dennis - Thanks for checking in
  4. Now that is Impressive :D
  5. Dennis - That is one "Bad Moe", most excellent work ! How about a comparrison pic bumper to bumper with regular Class 8 truck sometime in the future ?
  6. That is spectacular , everything looks just right. What is the total length this setup will take on the shelf ? Your gonna get a big ticket for transporting that excavator with all the mud in the rollers and tracks
  7. I never had the luxery of working for a mine with "Interstate" access Just two lane mountain highways which still required pilot cars . I wish I still had the pics of the 500 tonners showing up . One semi load was the frame and cab, Next was the engine and trans ,the dump bed was in thirds and each had a truck , then was another hauling the wheels & tires then another with all the electric motors, cooling units ect.
  8. This is incredible, I am so impressed with the Ford. Nice work all the way around and Those fender mirrors are the coolest ! The lowboy is equally impressive !
  9. I would go with the duals on the stacks and lubrifiner. Cant help you on the scrolls as I would have to see the sheets for the styles.
  10. One thing to keep in mind on those trucks the size of the "Payhauler" - They are transported with the tires off , so you will need two trucks and trailers.
  11. Craig - For some odd reason this truck really intrigues me Looks like a great kitbash project !
  12. Wow Russel, Thanks for linking your old school stuff ! I have some extra Reo parts I can send you to help you out on your 77'ish project. I really like your C-90-D version also - way cool cab. I have been working on a 90 series cab during my "wait time" to have for a future project. I havent done any filler work yet as my "hardner" went mia after the move.
  13. Very true , but you would rarely see one that had not been rattle canned or repainted by the owner. Nobody liked white engines.
  14. Man that looks cool. Hey Terry, I am pretty sure I have the wheels from the " Turnpiker Pete" if your wanting more of a "racey look"
  15. Nice to see this old Pete getting the attention it deserves. Model Master RAF Interior Green (2062) makes a close match to Detroit Green.
  16. Thanks guys for looking in and commenting, It nice to know there are others who still like "Old School trucks" ! We are back in in business , Thanks Terry for posting the brochures. It took a lot of guesswork out of lengthening the frame. We now have a 180" wheel base. Should not have any problems with a trailer crunching those behind the sleeper stacks now. I need to round up a few parts to keep this one in forward momentum. I am looking for one (1) rear parking brake can (nope did not loose it, the post office mangled this kit beyound recognition) A pair of front Alcoa's (2) and rings (2) from a AMT DD Freightliner if any of you guys swapped them out Thanks for looking
  17. *sigh* Projects like this make me want to go back to building lego's Casey, I am in awe of the work and scratchbuilding you have done on this truck.
  18. I sure like the work you have done on this and lots of Great Tips ! Looks really fantastic .
  19. While working on a few other truck projects this one has made an appearance again. The rattle can Silver and Orange paint never pleased me. Now that I got my booth plumbed in I painted it different. I present to you one of the Ugliest Peterbilts ever. But it grows on you (least it did to me) and looks just right for a work truck. I was going to repaint the frame semi gloss black , the orange does not look half bad. Any suggestions on what color I should paint the wheels ?
  20. Some very useful information there ! Thank you
  21. Ah geeze, I was not aware this one had taken a tumble. I am happy to see it back in the spotlight again though. Think among the intro of Col. Steve Austin - "Gentlemen, We Can Rebuild It. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's first Peter Plane . Man that Oscar Jones has grown since the last pic I saw
  22. Cat D-10 N 's , Ingersall Track Drill's, Excavators ect ect . Once a 992 loader but that was real hairy as It was "Top Heavy" big time. Wish I had a better pic of it.
  23. This was the last truck & lowboy I drove. Total length from bumper to end of trailer 102'
  24. I really like all of it from the front bumper to the Detroit mudflaps ! Great job on opening the doors also
  25. Bag Balm found at feed stores and super glue to seal the offending splits / cracks.
