  1. Looking for for someone that drives a 2007 (or close to that year) T800 . Post if you do and I will contact you via P/M. Thanks for looking
  2. I have been collecting a few Mack's lately
  3. The DD Freightliner can be converted real easy. If you need the rear cab windows ask someone for a template from the SD kit. The DD kit still has the rear glass included.
  4. Dave spend a few hours reading the different builds on this truck. (go back at least 20 - 30 pages on the workbench) The axle is too wide , as everyone said. I forgot how many mm's I shortened mine. If you are building an older truck before front brakes were required it is ok. If using the kit brake drums they tires will stick out like a mudder truck. The instructions show the cab realease handles wrong - handles face down not up. A lot of builds have trouble with the shift tower also. Not my build but a good reference
  5. Those are some sharp looking wreckers. They should of just left that car in the hole for fill . It wasnt worth recovering.
  6. Greg - that is a really unusual pic. I wonder what type of glue they used.. I spotted this circus a few years back, looked up and saw it rolling in. Barely had time to grab my camera. The sign really made the pic.
  7. That looks super cool.
  8. These guys are waiting to be loaded. Nice day in here , currently -17 last time I checked.
  9. Those who served , currently serving have my utmost respect. Americans sleep peacefully in their beds at night because tough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. William E Davis Master Chief US Navy 1941 - 1964 (Father) XXX Davis US Navy Security Forces currently serving (Son)
  10. JT- this is really looking good. Your attention to detail and custom work is making this a fine example for others to follow.
  11. This will be a really fun project to watch. Nice start, will you have the '55 as well ? I wonder what came in that crate next to the sign .. It amazes me to see pictures of these old places that did the coolest work. Shops nowdays are huge with tools of every type and dont even compare to the old school work and paint.
  12. What is a VIT cab ? My brain is not processing that one today..
  13. Mark, that is such a cool combination. It just barks "Build Me" !
  14. That is a well thought out article and a lot of great tips. Sadly my kids have grown up and moved away. I tried for years to get my son into modeling with easy kits but the electronic games beat me out. That is what all his friends did so that was a common bond for them to talk about. After he went into the Navy and had time to reflect back on his youth "he claims he wasted so much of " He is now starting collect and read older "Hot Rod " magazines (1970 - 1980 era) he is now talking about finding a hobby shop and trying a model or two.
  15. The timing is off - This would make for a great December holiday gift. I will be looking for it though. I love those old kits like that "Red Baron" ,"Rommels Rod" always wanted a "Lil Coffin" but never have gotten one.
  16. Looking good JT, if you wanted to update the rear suspension a snap kit makes a great donar for the 8 bag air ride. I am with you though - dang if I can see what is wrong with the hood - but then I never really looked at the newer trucks that close other then opening the hood and closing it after needed repairs.
  17. First look at this and all I saw was Big $$$$$$$ as in Snap'on, Mac Tools ect Super looking casting and as Bill said with "lots of possibilities".
  18. The Rubberduck from Alberquackie looks real fine , awesome job How was the assemblky of this - I have the same kit waiting to be built ? Any tips or stuff to be aware of ?
  19. Yes, the Tyrone Malone race trucks had the above mentioned Detroit. They seem to sell for a premium, sometimes you can find a glue bomb on ebay to scavenge parts from. That is where I got my engines from. Although one of the resin casters out there remakes the engine you want - I dont remember who it is though.
  20. Wow ! This has always been one of my favorite wip's to look back on to and learn from. Bravo on all the little details you have added to make this truck look real. Paulie figure turned out super also.
  21. I saw this one at the Last Good Guys show I was at in Spokane WA (2013) . I am not a V-dub fan but this one really caught my eye.
  22. Guilty had the matching dimmer switch also !
  23. I am not sure, I just remember all their "Chrome and Aluminum" dress up parts . Back in the day that was the first item - CC valve covers and a air cleaner and you had added an extra 20 hp Those that could afford Miloden and Moroso ect all made fun of the Japan parts. They CC were afffordable for the era. I would really like to find a set of the aluminum finned valve covers for my '55 chevy .
