  1. Wow! Very nice and Welcome! I really like that California Special!
  2. Ahhh yes! That looks good Mike! I'm interested to see how those come out!
  3. Ray, that's lookin' really good and it sits well! Just looking at the body shape, I'd have to say that look just a bit better than the Gunze one that sells for crazy money. Of course, the few that were done were all different so I'm not sure which chassis number Kyosho modeled when they did this one. Sure would be nice if we could ever get a nice detailed glue kit of this one!
  4. I'm one that doesn't have a problem with eBay as I've been a member there since 2002. However it's auctions like this that REALLY kill me, and it's no wonder that eBay sometimes gets the bad rap it does. Now granted, no one forces anyone to buy a thing off the 'Bay especially at whatever price that's being offered. This auction here however is just annoying seeing the shape this kit is in and some poor soul with more money than brains, might pay waaaaay too much for what I consider a substandard build and all things considered, not all that rare. Looking at this guy's feedback rating makes me wonder how low does your score have to go before eBay boots ya! I'd never buy a thing from this character with a score that low! Maybe, just maybe this is a typo on their part............I'm watching it just the same so we'll see. Check it out...............
  5. Mike, that's what I was thinking--------but Mike beat me to it! Short of scratchbuiiding those yourself out of plastic sprue, that's the only other answer I can think of as I can't think of any object out there that comes close. Those are pretty unique, and not something that's on any other kit you could swipe. At least with 3D printing, you could get the fine detail such as that ribbing I see right behind the amber turn signal lens. Hard to duplicate that with a DIY endeavor.
  6. Ha! Gotta love that "Leave it to Beaver" episode! Must be 1961 with all those brand new shiny Mopars that everyone's driving. Funny how the car that the boys were in went from being a hardtop to having "fake" posts (don't know the reason for that), back to being a hardtop again. Also, LOVE the sounds of those horns! Much better sounding than a lot of the wimpy sounding horns I hear on cars today!
  7. Oooh........one of the nicer ones I've seen of these! Love the redlines! Is that a PE grille I see? Nice touch!
  8. Coral and black always go well together! The reverse color scheme makes this all the nicer! Very clean build to boot!
  9. I like where this is going Ray! I'm one for no decals, but that's just me. If you're gonna put stripes on it.......well, I'd go for the gumballs.
  10. New Caddys in pink? No. The lines today don't suit the color whereas they did in the '50's. Probably why that SRX really looked bad in in that color.
  11. Scott, excellent hinging on the doors so far! Still nervous about those A pillars though, but I see your point. As far as magnets for latching, you might want to check out here. I've used the smallest size they have, and they work quite well, and won't be intrusive looking for what you're trying to do. Just to give you an idea, here's a few pics of what they look like in a door jamb of the Cougar II that I built years ago. HTH!
  12. Not a real big fan of this car, but man! Those 3D renderings you did are super nice! I'll keep saying it...............THIS is the wave of the future fellas! I'm sure others here will agree.............
  13. Yup! I'm joining the crowd too! Now, I learned something interesting by checking out this thread. I didn't know that the Ford GT-40 evolved from Lola Mk6 Coupe. I never would have guessed that! I too have the huge 1/12 scale Tamiya kit of the Lola............heaven knows if I'll ever get to that one! I see you're using Harold's engine kit for this one-------can't go wrong with that! Harold is one of the best resin guys out there and a really nice guy to boot! I've known him for years, and he certainly sweats the details in all of his items.
  14. Well, Sunday afternoon/evening into yesterday morning was NOT a good time for me! I went to take the trash out early Sunday afternoon, and didn't put my sunglasses (actually a sunglass film they gave me) as this would've only taken a second. The brightness of the outside (it was bright and sunny here Sunday) hit my bad eye and I was in TERRIBLE pain the rest of the day through the night! The pain persisted into yesterday morning and that's when I had to call the Doctor. The young lady had told me to keep taking my prescription eyedrops as that's very important and for the pain to put a cold compress on the eye. I have some of those ice pack blocks I use to put in my food container for work, so I wet a rag and wrapped that around the block. That made a BIG difference to where the pain had greatly subsided, and I could at least open my eye without the dimmest of light irritating it. It felt like a constant stabbing pain the entire time as more than likely the pupil was consistently dilated. I was told also that this is somewhat normal as the eye is trying to get used to normal light passing through it with the bubble decreasing in size, and it's one of those things that come with the territory. Nevertheless, this is one thing I hope to never have to go through again..............on the flip side of this is that if this happens to the left eye, I'll know what to expect and be better armed for it. Today, things are much better 'cept the eye is still bloodshot and it'll take time till that totally goes away. On the bright side of things, I am able to at least see my worktable again without the bubble implant too much in the way, so hopefully before long I can get back to building without there being too much a strain on my vision.
  15. Neat conversion Peter, and long time no see! That roof really works with that '50 Ford, and I can see that working with a 1:1. BTW, I was able to see your pics on my end with no trouble.
  16. Scott. your super excellent work continues, but oooooh those free standing A pillars! Is there any way you can maybe temporarily support those? I was thinking perhaps take some plastic square rod the height of the distance from the rockers to the base of the pillar and very lightly superglue those in place. After you've got the additional structure you need, you can always cut them away. Just thinking out loud here. Unlike plastic, resin as you know can be quite unpredictable!
  17. Ahhhh! Excellent!
  18. AHHH............Yes! The black spokes look so much better as it's a nice contrast to that beautiful gold paint! I've yet to get one of these..............has anyone out there tried to kitbash the newer C7 with the older C6 kit for engine details?
  19. eBay has TONS of individual model parts out there for just about anything. Some are "Buy It Now", others you may have to bid on. I'm fishing through listings there for parts I may need all the time and in fact, there are a couple sellers I have listed as favorites for this very thing. ..................And welcome back!
  20. Well for your first time at this, that is beautiful! Mine came nowhere near this good on my first model. Glue everywhere, misplaced/missing parts, etc. Yeah, DEFINITELY keep this one! It's always nice to look back to see how far you've come.
  21. Fellas, just to put in a good word for Joseph--------pictures don't do these carbs justice! I just got my set in the mail, and they are OUTSTANDING! If you have a Hemi 'Cuda build planned in the future, you owe to yourself to pick up a set of these carbs!
  22. Totally Gorgeous!! Any vintage Ferrari that uses Norm's engines, always makes the grade for me! His V-12's for that kit (and others) are top notch as I've used them in the past and have been very happy with 'em. They're not for beginners by any means-------the engine itself is literally a whole kit in itself. Absolutely beautiful car, and welcome to the forum!
  23. Bronco! Love that box art! I hope that's a trend for them! Well, this'll be a nice birthday present for myself if it comes out early enough in October. Anyone know what year this is supposed to represent? Time to start getting some pics saved of this one!
  24. WOW! I love it!! Some excellent work you got going on! And yes, that was a very good suggestion to not separate the front clip till you could see how things would go for the engine. I love all the scratchbuilt details-----------this is the kind of thing that really makes you take everything piece by piece and seeing how it all comes together little by little.
