Thank you, that is already my plans for it! After I bought the body, I had thought it would replace the Thom Taylor Cabrio body for this build but since I already had all the fenders firmly attached to the body and before I noticed the chopped body has the fenderless filler plugs in place, this project a friend named "10 in 5" because he said I was trying to fit 10 pounds of stuff in a 5 pound bucket I'll keep it as is and the chopped will be a fenderless bigger brother! I might have to name the chopped "20 in 5"!

At least I have touched a resin part and have the body in question, as well as one I recently picked up with a nice chopped top, both made from the Monogram/Revell 34 Ford and even though I know the roadster is the Flintsone body, I'm unsure of the origins of the chopped version. I can confirm the resin bodies are quite hard and probably as hard or harder than an original kit body, but if you want to shove an X Acto blade through it and throw on average $20 - $40 out the window to find out for yourself, feel free to do so! I'm sure no one here will stop you! Anyone care to bet how long this thread lasts before it joins the growing list of threads like this that have gone off the rails and locked in the past couple days??

1/25 AMT Fruehauf Model FB Beaded Panel Van - Coca-Cola

So I forgot one! -
Though I love Trans Ams, the only disappointment in this latest issue is that AMT did away with the 10th Anniversary markings and also noticed the Turbine wheels for the anniversary edition is also blocked off on the chrome.

Identify this resin piece
highway replied to DrKerry's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I can help you with at least a partial identification of it, a part that needs to find its way to my house!!! I'm not sure of the maker of the hood, it does appear that it is for a later model KW like this one. I would take a guess that it may have been part of an entire conversion kit for a later model W900L as in the pic above with the larger door windows, it could still be used to make an AMT T600 an older W900L just as I've been thinking of doing with this one to make a W900L, and if you notice the back of the AMT T600 hood you"ll see that same distinctive curved kick up at the back to match the newer style one piece curved windshields. -

Wintersville OH. Schneider runs from here and also the grocery DCs in Bedford PA, London KY, Washington Court House OH, and I think Gas City IN. The one in Wintersville covers NE OH, western PA, and most of WV. -
Again, I will just leave these right here....... Central America is just a region, NOT a continent, and regardless Mexico is still NOT part of the Central American Region. Since almost every gadget including new cars come with some sort of GPS, it doesn't surprise me that most can't even find their way home without them and don't have the basic skills to read these funny and odd drawings I posted called MAPS!!

As Michael said, at least with my phone which is a Samsung Galaxy Note 5, the forum software seems to not like the tall portrait photos but works fine with landscape photos. It also does not matter if you upload it directly from the phone or copy the pics from the phone to your computer, as I have done it both ways. Also, at least in my case, it doesn't matter that the file name has an underscore "_" in it, because my phone titles the photo like this for the date and time that the photo was taken: 20180325_184016 That is the way that both my phone and my computer shows the filename of the photo to upload here, and this is the pic that goes to that filename.

1/25 AMT Fruehauf Model FB Beaded Panel Van - Coca-Cola

All of those details you mentioned, the walls were the first that came to my mind being half asleep last night , are still all inside details that aren't visible from the outside, with the exception for the wood floors in dry vans vs the aluminum floor in the reefers, but that is only if you crawl under the trailer. Even then, the floor itself is not visible on a reefer because of the insulation and a usually black moisture barrier around the insulation. As for the doors, the quilted diamond pattern is an option and is dependent on how the trailer was ordered, because it can also be just chrome as they are in the Moebius ribside kits or just painted the color of the trailer as they can be in the smoothside Moebius trailers because those don't include the chromed doors or front bulkhead. Especially with the Moebius smoothside, but this also applies to the other trailers too, since I have very intimate knowledge of the 53' Great Danes inside and out, the outwards appearance of both the dry van and reefer are the same. The only differences is of course the reefer unit hanging off the front and the fuel tank for the reefer. I hauled the Great Dane in both varieties for quite a long time before hurting my shoulder last year and have been off the road since then, the first pic is the dry van and the second is a reefer even though I know the reefer unit is hidden by the truck. Sorry it isn't the greatest pic either but the phone I had at that time took lousy pics at night! One detail that is different between the two I hauled is the back door frame. The top of the frame on the reefer is lower than on the dry fans, because these reefers have three zones inside separated by insulated bulkheads and there are three inner reefer units inside on the trailer ceiling in addition to the main outside unit. Two are mounted side by side in the middle of the trailer across its width and one is mounted on the drivers side about 4 to 6 feet in front of the back door, and so that freight can not be loaded higher than those units the top of the rear door frame is thicker than what is on the dry vans. -
They haven't had the "Cat" licensing for many years, which is why the previous issue from the early 2000s did not have any of the "Cat" decals. This is the last issue from maybe around the mid 80s that had the "Cat" licensing. Oh, and by the way, it is a D8, not a D7. You are correct, nothing but maybe the two shafts from the hydraulic rams which are above the fan and what appears to be valve covers, should be chromed. Yeah, the new box art does show a different grille, even from the original box art they based it on with of course the deletion for the "Cat" logo too. AMT has been modifying other decal sheets and changing and/or expanding originals, so maybe a new grille style???

The same goes for the Moebius, but I never seen anyone complain about that. Anyway, most of the differences between a reefer and a dry van is on the inside like plywood walls in a dry van vs insulated walls in a reefer. -

It would be nice if they would add the reefer unit to one of these reissues like this old kit in this pic. It's the same trailer, just with the reefer unit, and since AMT used the recent W925 on the box art pic and they DID include the decals in the Kenworth for this trailer, THEY NEED TO REISSUE THE REEFER!! -
That's possible, the only things I could think they could chrome. I do remember from the early version I built, the silver/grey are the tracks.

Choosing a glue bomb..
highway replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yep!! I'd actually never noticed until you mentioned it that there was no passenger seat, but I did mention the backwards spoiler. It will stay as is, because since those pics were taken probably 10 years ago, it has never seen the light of day again! I see its box and say "Oh, that junker" and just toss it to another corner of the model room closet! Though until I opened the box I had been looking for that kit way back then, since I have gotten the reissue of it, plus 3 or 4 more Countach kits including the very nice Aoshima kit, so I'm not hurting for Countachs! -
Hmmmmmmm..........it might be another reissue of the K123 because Kenworth did use a paint scheme like that and the backside does seem to match the K123. Of course though, the Freightliner SD/DD used a similar but not exact paint scheme also. I'm not really concerned if it is a tease for another tractor reissue, but I have a few big bad Petes and Kenworths begging for another few bullracks to go along with this project to become the "Fat Chick Express" fleet!

CHROME??? It's been a long time since I built one of these, sometime in the late 80s or early 90s if I remember correctly long back when it still had the "Cat" markings, but I don't remember any chrome in the kit.

Choosing a glue bomb..
highway replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The engine needed air somehow, since whoever had built (and I use that term VERY loosely ) that originally had glued the actual air scoops on backwards and I'm guessing the rear spoiler is now for lift instead of downforce! Those aren't the "best" of that though, all I'm going to say is look very closely at the second pic again of the interior! -
OK, so your point is?? Or did you miss the part where I said "for a price cheaper than a new kit in a hobby shop"??

Just a few thoughts on scale
highway replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, but if you also notice it also states the main reason 1/35 scale was originally conceived by Tamiya was for the "convenience of fitting motorized (though incorrectly spelled there) parts and batteries". Though it might mention the figures, it still contradicts this previous comment: -
New reissue announcement from Round 2
highway replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'd take a wild guess and say that since it says "Funny Car" on the box, it will more than likely be the funny car out of this kit. I would also take a wild guess that since you said you hoped it was stock, you probably need a body out of one of these two kits. -
Just a few thoughts on scale
highway replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, quite interesting, especially this one copied from that list: 1:32 9.525 mm Military vehicles; 54 mm figure scale toy soldiers are supposed to use this scale as well. Same as Gauge 1, cars, common for slot cars. Some aircraft (e.g. Matchbox/Revell). Commonly referred to as Stablemate size in model horses.
