  1. Terry, the newer issue Crown Vics also have pre painted lightbars as well, so it depends on the color the box art shows as to how the lightbar is in the kit unless you would strip the pre painted color. The two on the right in the pic are the more recent and commonly found on Ollie's store shelves, and as you can see on the GSP car, it is pre painted blue and though the undecorated car is still sealed inside and why its bar is not out, it is red on both ends. The only kit with a totally clear version of that lightbar is the older Orange Co. Fire car. Also, James was MOSTLY right that all the commonly available the MX-7000 looking bar, BUT the original release OHP had the Vector V-Bar and is the only issue to include it and also the only issue to include a shotgun.
  2. From the looks of it, I don't think they believed in scales!! That pic should come with a free sample of eye bleach!
  3. The only thing I know around that range is the Revell 99 Silverado. I don't know how close to a 2003 this would be since I bleed Ford Blue, but it might be a close starting point. It has been reissued a couple of times since this first release, so it shouldn't be too hard to find, and also comes in a separate custom version.
  4. Yes, especially if you get any of the Lindberg Dodge Charger police cars from maybe around 2010 or in that general timeframe. Every kit, though the "plain" car was the only one to actually advertise it, they all come with 8 different lightbars.
  5. Yeah, I'm sure that would go well!! All there would be then in development would be kits people would want that don't realize that there have been cars produced after the 60s and 70s or strange oddball vehicles only themselves and maybe on or two other people have any interest in!
  6. Since they are not "lines" like in a hydraulic car brake system but rather brake hoses to supply air to the brakes, they are just black rubber hoses on the 1:1s. You could use anything from thin black coated wire to anything that replicate a heater hose in a car build.
  7. I think without actually comparing the two, those wagon wheels are also the same as the GMC truck that was most recently as the Deserter and could explain them being 8 lugs. Also, at least from other comments I've seen here but can't confirm for sure, but those wheels were originally from a 1/20th scale kit, an offroad van if I remember correctly. Though the OP didn't specify other than mentioning a couple of truck kits in his original post, I'm guessing the OP is looking for 8 lug 1 ton truck wheels, not car wheels.
  8. This all followed me home while taking a friend to the hobby shop for his birthday. The MCG photoetch are for the Revell 83 Hurst Olds and Meng F350.
  9. No they aren't missing the boat, in just a quick 15 minute search through my stash all of these are Japanese made kits that are BOTH RHD and LHD, and I'm sure digging a little deeper I have more because I'm sure that I have at least a Toyota RAV 4 or a Honda CRV that also came with RHD and LHD drive options, and possibly both of them do. Also, before any comments about the Toyota truck being done as a US version kit, it is still based from the Toyota Hi Lux and the kit does have both dash options as well as the stock height suspension pieces for the RHD Hi Lux variant. The Mugen Odyssey minivan is also done similarly, while the Mugen variant is supposed to be a JDM RHD, it still includes the LHD dashboard from the stock variants of the kit. Another is this from Tamiya, an 84 Honda Civic that includes both RHD and LHD dashes, and though I recently built this one, I plan on getting another just because I'm not happy how this one turned out.
  10. I don't know about being in the trunk for a week, especially if you have a dark colored car that will absorb heat rather than reflect it, but most of my collection including some built ups spent close to 5 years in a storage unit and I haven't discovered an damaged ones......yet. On a side note though, I do know it is not a good idea to leave a partially built 1/8th scale 79 Trans Am in the back window of your 1:1 79 Firebird in the student parking lot while you are in the school on a sunny day in May. Don't ask me how I know this!!
  11. There's really not much to tell, because what you see in the pic is about all I know about it. A couple friends I know believe it may be a Jimmy Flintstone, as well as the 70 Challenger body, and the only thing for certain that I know is that it is based off of the AMT Chevelle donor kit underneath it. I'm considering using the much newer tooling 68 El Camino as a donor, since the taillights from the Chevelle don't match the older style lights from a pre 70 Chevelle and the El Caminos, but the 68 shows how it seems there are a few dimension issues on the resin body, as the 68 frame will need a little shortening and the rear bumper and taillight housings a little reworking to fit. Oh, and sorry for the sideways pics, the forum wouldn't upload them as I took them, they would only upload if they were rotated sideways.
  12. Thank you both and yes Mark, that Vette is. Though it doesn't show it on the front, it also comes with decals for the 1978 Indy Pace Car Edition! That now gives me that car in three scales, this 1/8th, MPC's 1/16th scale, and Revell/Monogram's 1/24th scale version. In a garage in PA LOL!! A friend buys collections and sells on a live auction group on Facebook, and I just happened to spot it while I was "shopping" there yesterday. Everything in the first pic was all from there, his garage is better than any hobby shop LOL!!
  13. The only reason I suggested the ones from the El Camino is that they are already set up for a carburetor.
  14. I don't know if it would be a viable option or not, but Monogram's El Camino and also I think the Revell (pre Revell/Monogram merger days) El Camino like in the Bass Busters set have GM V6s in them.
  15. I guess I just see it a little differently after spending 20 years as a professional driver, and cell phones have made my job even more dangerous than when I started driving.
  16. It's good that nobody was hurt, but maybe you'll keep that in mind the next time you're taking pics or videos while driving.
  17. I'm glad John is OK, but y'all act like it's never happened before! Might I remind you he's used to being on fire and been in a lot worse like in Memphis in 1992.
  18. Yep, forgot about those, even though they aren't but a space or two down from the plow on the shelf. Maybe since it has the W925 pulling the box art set and also with the recent reissue of the Freightliner SD/DD, fingers crossed this would be in the near future. A couple other notables from around the same timeframe though these were just straight AMT reissues then, the Great Dane extendable and I know from a Facebook live auction group I regularly see people asking for, the Wilson livestock trailer, which I wouldn't mind having a couple more of myself to add a few more custom builds to my brench like this one. As with keeping fingers crossed for the doubles, since AMT did include CF decals in the SD/DD kit, they might do the doubles to match. I would also like to see the Freuhauf reefer come back out since in the new issue of the Kenworth W925 AMT included the trailer decals for the Watkins reefer, but the last issue of a Freuhauf box from a few years ago and I believe I seen here but maybe not in this particular thread is supposedly scheduled for later this year again is the beaded van. I'm hoping it will have the reefer parts this go round! I thought there was another release in between but I could be wrong. I'm just surprised they are as highly priced as they are! I just did a quick search and didn't see one under $50, but in a few recent months I've gotten a still sealed tanker AND a sealed inside NASCAR transporter both from the early to mid 90s and barely paid over $25 for both! Those prices almost make me think they have AMT's Fruehauf mixed up with the one hiding in this picture!
  19. Yes it has, and Netflix DOES NOT have Season 6 yet!!! This is a pic of my Netflix on my TV screen just a couple minutes ago. Also, as I have said about three or four times already, though I was off on the time but that was corrected, THE WEATHER CHANNEL WILL BE AIRING SEASON 6 STARTING SUNDAY FEBRUARY 25TH AT 8PM EST!!! This is also a pic of my TV screen of the episodes through my cable box for the available for HTH that includes not only what is airing on TV but what is on demand and also for Netflix since I can get it through my cable box as well. The only two episodes available for season 6 are those airing on the Weather Channel, which are also set for series record on my DVR.
  20. No, they have only through Season 5 as of right now. I have been checking quite regularly for the season 6 episodes. As I had said earlier, THE WEATHER CHANNEL WILL BE AIRING SEASON 6 EP 1 AT 8PM EST THIS SUNDAY FEBRUARY 25TH!!!
  21. Actually, I believe the Lindberg is just a reboxing of the US Airfix, as US Airfix also issued a standard 80 Camaro like the "K" version of it as Greg showed in the opening post, as well as an 80 Corvette. The standard versions of those three also seen the Testors rebox from the mid to late 2000s, and in fact the Firebird actually has the dash and wheels from the 80 Camaro in that Testors rebox. The US Airfix sealed kit is copyrighted 1980, so I'd guess it is the original release of the Type K, and since it shares much everything with the standard Firebird with the exception of the body and the interior and I was also able to get a rebuilder so I didn't have to open the sealed kit, here is generally what to expect in the Type K. The Lindberg version was molded in the same horrible metallic brown as it is shown on the box, as I also had that issue back in the mid to late 80s. Also, as you can see on the US Airfix box, it is a snap kit, but also builds into a decent curbside, because while it does have opening hood and basic engine detail, there isn't really much to write home about there. I have not tried it yet, but it may be possible to make it a full detail build using one of the reissues of the Monogram 78 Trans Am kit, but still isn't bad just as it sits.
  22. I would go for something like that also since they could also be used in police vehicles that are lacking those options, but I also like to use shotguns as a custom shifter in some of my big rig builds. Add to that list wrecker bodies Chris. Though the only wrecker body that AMT ever made I would like to have is the Holmes 750 (I think but I know it is a Holmes unit) from the 1/43rd scale Peterbilt wrecker, I would love to see Revell put out a Parts Pack of their two wrecker bodies as well as Italeri make a parts pack of their wrecker body. Also to somewhat answer your question about the Moebius wheel and tire set, that was a big hit for me. I have four sets and whenever I find a set lonely at the hobby shop, they follow me home!
  23. Hmmmmm........I didn't know they made the Camaro front wheel drive?!?!
  24. FYI for those of us here in the states, I noticed in my DVR's "Scheduled to Record" list that next Sunday Feb 25th the Weather Channel will be playing S6 Ep1 at 9PM EST.
