  1. I don't know, this seems to fit some quite well.
  2. I find it funny that since this thread was first posted, most of the "rare" kits then are now on the shelves.
  3. The difference in parts count is at least, in part, to the tires in the kit. The original that I found on eBay when I was researching that the Heller was in fact the old AMT kit also had this pic in the listing. The AMT, at least in this issue and the ones I remember from having nearly 30 years ago, had one piece vinyl tires just like their 1/25th and 1/32nd scale counterparts. The Heller version oddly has 2 piece plastic tires, but that does help explain at least some of the addition in the parts count.
  4. Unless you REALLY feel the need to see the fan and fanbelts LOL!! My mother had a 90 Astro (a little older than the kit represents but still the same body) AWD and all you could see opening the hood was that, couldn't see much if any of the engine at all.
  5. It would be a good guess, because Heller has also reboxed AMT kits. This Heller Peterbilt 359 and trailer is actually this old AMT kit. Heller also offered the Peterbilt Holmes wrecker and the Kenworth K100 from the old 1/43rd scale AMT truck lineup.
  6. Clayton, for posting photos here at least, you don't need to use a photo hosting site anymore. At the bottom of the reply box when you are typing something to post, you will see a small box with a little paperclip symbol and "Drag files here to attach or choose files" in it. All you have to do is choose the pics you want to post and either use the choose file option to upload them from your computer to here. After the photo is loaded, just click on the little "+" symbol on the pic and that will add it to your post.
  7. Ummmmm.....maybe because just as your picture shows, there is no SPECIFIC carburetor color!! Black, pale gold, and aluminum are all colors I can easily find in my paint color selection, and even Tamiya X-32 Titanium Silver as on the catalytic converters on this is a pale gold hue.
  8. The AMT newer sleeper would also differ depending on whether or not the top roof fairing is used or not.
  9. I had the feeling that would be the one you'd be looking for one for to do something like I did like this: I used a parts box fifth wheel for mine. I'm sure there are probably a few aftermarket fifth wheels available too, you just need to make sure it comes with a mounting plate as well.
  10. Which AMT Kenworth? And an aftermarket or just one from the kit?
  11. Thanks guys. Which one?? LOL!!
  12. This is my setup. I got the desk at Walmart for about $80. I also got this 3 drawer rolling toolbox for added storage and doubles as a table for my collapsible spray booth. which also fits perfectly in the bottom drawer when not in use.
  13. There are kits like that, just not in larger scales. The crane boom is fully functional as well.
  14. I find it so funny that you even have any buyers, are they really that clueless!?!? I also find it funny that the link is to your store, and thanks for a few perfect examples of how laughingly ridiculous your prices are! 1. Dually Stepside bed from the MPC Super Dualie Six wheel Chevy Pickup $39.99. I just recently picked up a SEALED KIT for about half that! 2. Chevy 1996 C1500 and C3500 grille $19.99. Since I have at least 6 different kits that contain this grille, that must mean I got one great deal on then all since I might have $40 in the kits and promos that have this grille! 3. Windshield and rear window from the AMT Ford F350 Destroyer monster truck $499.00! If just the glass from my kit is worth this much, I can retire from the complete kit!! The most laughable example I've ever ran across was the rear window for the 1/16th scale Revell 87 Pontiac Trans Am GTA not long ago priced at $5000.00! REALLY!?! $5000.00!?! I COULD BUY A REAL REAR WINDOW STILL CONNECTED TO THE GTA FOR THAT MUCH!!
  15. I guess some people must not have a sense of humor.
  16. After almost 10 years of life getting in the way or having over complicated builds that seen to never get finished, I sat down at the bench with help from being off work due to a shoulder injury and actually finished some builds this year. The 1984 Civic and the 2002 Civic Type R were fresh builds from the stash and the 2009 Challenger was one started many years ago that finally got to see the finish line. I did find that some of my skills need sharpening after so many years of building when I can but not finishing projects, because most of the finishing touches like trim, decals, and windows are by far NOT my best work, but actually finishing these three and having the spare time at the bench thanks to my shoulder injury and surgery that I'm still recovering from has at least resulted in me spending more time at the work bench.
  17. The top mounting is just as Casey said, it could be done as different body versions. The bodies of both of these kits are the same. Even though the top body pieces are glued in place in this pic, you can see on the inner part of the drivers door where the top of the door attaches to the body for the Cabrio version.
  18. I do too, I have almost every body style of Trans Am including the 79 Type K sportwagon, the only missing gap is a 74-76. I've also owned two 1:1s in my younger days, a 79 Firebird Esprit and an 88 GTA. My plan for the 69 is make the rare 69 Trans Am convertible which if I remember correctly only 6 were made and the original idea for the GTA was to replicate my old 1:1, but I forgot the Monogram kit was a solid roof and had the paddle style mirrors where my 1:1 was a T-Top and had the sport mirrors.
  19. The mailman dropped these off yesterday.
  20. Really!?!?!?!? I don't see what getting the panties in a bunch here, because unless I'm missing something, there are only 2 "My Year in Review" threads currently on the front pages of all 3 (including the pickup under glass and big rig under glass sections in the truck area) of the under glass sections of this forum, and both are in the car section! I guess that must just be two too many for some to handle!
  21. They did both the GN and the GNX and many reissues of both.
  22. The 2002 release of the US Mail C900 truck and trailer I have does have the dolly though it is not used in the kit, and the 2008 release of the doubles I have actually has two dollys in the kit.
