  1. Really? And here I thought that he created the HEMI on the 7th day.
  2. It's been awhile since I built mine, so I don't remember too much about how it went together. I did build the bottom end of the engine and glued the hood shut to make this a curbside build. I'm plannin' on doin' the pearl white one in the near future and I also have a beautiful candy/metallic red(?) convertible kit in the stash also. Here's a photo of my Coronet..................................
  3. That one I do have, however I stopped building gassers for awhile.
  4. Hmmm, didn't realize there was a shortage of '55 Chevy kits as I used to have a lot of them before "down sizing." I still have a couple in the stash in case I get back in the "gasser mood."
  5. While a 3-D Printer is a wave in the future, I think that it's gonna be awhile before it takes a good hold on the model kit industry. I've been building plastic model kits since the mid-50's without 3-D printed parts and I'm sure that I can do without them today.
  6. Those Indy Turbine Cars are hard to find and I've seen them go for $200+ if you're lucky to find one.
  7. What they said above. And to help prevent this from happening in the future, you need to spray closer to the body and move the air-brush/spray can faster.
  8. I wrap a used blade in masking tape and put it in the trash, done!
  9. Did you spray the decal sheet with a couple light coats of clear lacquer, and let it dry before using them? It may work, especially with older decal sheets.
  10. An old fart? Well you make a good point there, and I'm happy and lucky to have reached my age as a lot of people are less fortunate.
  11. Close enough is good for me as well. After all, how much of the engine do we really see???
  12. An armload of stuff? Not really but I had a great time seeing a lot of old friends, I was able to sell a kit that I had brought, and I got some great Hot Wheels for my grandson. Afterwards I went to lunch with some great friends to the Tilted Kilt.
  13. is that the one I saw Brian holding in his hands today at the Du Page show?
  14. That worked great Steve, and thanks!
  15. Revell can put off production for as long as they want as I haven't even opened my '29 Model A Roadster or '30 Model A Coupe kits as of yet. I have other things to build.
  16. It was good to see BigTruck Ken at the Du Page show today along with Dean Milano, and many other guys I've known over the years. Didn't find anything interesting for my "stash" but I did pick up some Hot Wheels for my grandson. Then went to the Tilted Kilt with the guys for lunch.
  17. Testors make a Hemi Orange in spray cans.
  18. That Dart looks really nice Chris and I like the bronze metallic color also. I have three cans of that paint in my stash, guess I'll have to paint a Mopar that color soon. I just love dem Mopars!
  19. I saw Ed Sexton from Revell this morning at a local swap meet, and I didn't even bother to ask him 'bout the '29 Roadster and '30 Model A Coupe. One vendor had a '30 Coupe kit and was open to offers. I guess someone one the bay is selling one for $100 and that's not the "asking" price from what I've heard.
  20. Ron, the old magazines from the 60's and 70's are a lot better than the magazines you'll find on today's racks. I won't even take a subscription for free, and I just passed up an offer to a fairly decent mag for only a $1 an issue. I don't need to collect any more magazines, and I've been readin' them since the early 60's when the teacher would catch me with one of those "little" magazines inside my open text book.
  21. Ah those Mercs, I was thinkin' the '49 - '51. Yeah those mid-50's Mercs would be great!
  22. I think that we already have enough 50's Mercurys.
  23. There's a Revell '29 Ford Roadster kit still sitting on the shelf of my local Hobby Lobby as well.
  24. I have PLENTY of other kits to build besides a '29 Roadster and a '30 Ford Coupe, so I could care less if Revell ever gets the issue resolved. I'm sure there are many other modelers who can live without these kits also. It's just another car.
