  1. An artist at work? Those are professional stunt men doing the actual driving, and do you really think that after crashing into the back of that trailer the driver would actually be able to get out of the car even with help and walk around???
  2. There were considerable differences between the first and second generation Corvairs, not only in the chassis but also in many other areas of the car itself.
  3. First I put on a blindfold, then I pick up a dart, and then I throw the dart towards my "stash," and wherever the dart lands, that's my next project.
  4. How 'bout the Fast & Furious movies?
  5. Thanks as I attend the Meltdown Drags every year and it is really a great event. It is only Feb. and the entry list is "full up" and they've already started a "waiting list" for to replace the spots from cars/drivers that have signed up already and can't make the event for some reason or other. It's held at Byron Dragway just south of Rockford, Illinois in mid July and there are cars from all over the country that attend this event. If you like gassers, you will LOVE this event.
  6. How 'bout American Graffiti and More American Graffiti?
  7. Well said Mark.
  8. A friend of mine and I stopped & shopped at the Model Empire today in West Allis, as that is my favorite hobby shop when it comes to model cars, and has been for a long time. After leaving there we took a spin up to Brookfield and enjoyed some wings for lunch at Hooters.
  9. I already have an order with Thomas Logan, but I didn't know that he makes custom decals to order as well. Thanks for the "heads up," as I'll have to keep that in mind.
  10. Very nice bunch of models. The Fiat and the Orange Crate are probably altereds and not gassers though.
  11. I believe that I did my work on a tray back-in-the-day, and it worked too.
  12. John, Did you hang out at Skip's Fiesta Drive In in Maywood, or Duke's Drive In on Harlem & 76th?
  13. Doesn't Harry's doctors have something to say about whether he needs rehab or not? They should. An insurance doctor didn't want me going to a "work hardening " program to get me ready to go back to work , but my doctor had some pull and I was enrolled in the program for a month. The insurance company had to pay for this program as well as workman's comp for that month also, and any meds that I needed as well.
  14. Please keep the snow by you, and many thanks!
  15. That MG looks great, but would probably run in M/SP (modified sports car) rather than the gas class.
  16. Real "party animals" don't need any excuse to party.
  17. Great lookin' models John as I'm a nostalgia fan, and I just love them Mopars too! I also knew a girl in Forest Park as I'm a Chicago native.
  18. That's lookin' great John as I've seen Gabby drive several times back-in-the-day and he was "wild & crazy." It's no wonder he named his car Psycho.
  19. I hafta agree with that radio jock on that point, as we have a cutie here on a Chicago TV station that does the weather forecast from time to time.
  20. Back in 2008 I saw a '65 Satellite for sale with a 383(?), hood scoop, Super Stock exhaust system, etc. My brother in law was goading me into getting it and I said no. He even got the dealer's business card for me. Of course I didn't have any cash in hand and a couple weeks or so went by and they car was gone. Not oh well in this case, as my better half and I went to the bank and got a home equity loan and I started lookin' for another car. Almost a year later I found and bought one as I was prepared then. The '65 Satellites and '65 Coronets are still two of my most favorite cars though.
  21. I should be in Canada later in the year, if all goes well.
  22. Although I do not have any of those Auto World License Plates now, I do remember them well as I too had them back-in-the-day.
  23. While the Coronet body looks pretty good, the engine is definitely 20th century where the engine halves are glued together and include the oil pan. I owned a '69 Super Bee back in '69, and the kit engine would need a lot of work to make it look good. I wouldn't worry about it too much as it is a model and this is a hobby to enjoy.
  24. 47 years of puffing, that's a scary thought. I think that I was smokin' for 'bout 21 years before I "kicked" the habit. I used the nicotine gum to help me quit, but will power was the main factor in giving it up. You can do it Kevin, believe me.
  25. Me too, as when JoHan released those, we bought a bunch of them for parts like the 426 Hemi, the tunnel ram manifolds & carbs, the Dana rear ends, etc.
