  1. I'm not lookin' forward to it as I'll be out that way in another week and a half.
  2. Recycle them as I have no use or room for them at all.
  3. Back in the old days we used to put some plastic blocks/spacers between the tops of the inner front fender wells and the body and this gave us some lift.
  4. Offhand, I don't recall any problems with spray cans from Testors, Tamiya, Black Gold, MCW, or Dupli-Color paints.
  5. The "PROMOS" started out as toys, but the models were replicas just like ship and airplane models. I don't "play" with my models after I build them, and I don't know of anybody who does. If 3D printing is the "next step," what's next after that? Having a robot build our kits for us? That doesn't sound like any fun at all.
  6. I'm just the opposite of you as I ditched my air-brushes and compressor so now I have no fuss, no mess, no mixing, no adjusting air pressure, no clean up, no noise. Just "shake 'n spray" and I've been very happy with my paint jobs over the years including fades and two/triple tones also.
  7. While the wagons could be considered models, they are probably just TOYS. And while many of us have hundreds of model kits already in our stash along with thousands of parts, I don't see where 3D printing would be of any advantage except to spend more money. What's wrong with building what we already have?
  8. VERY nice as I remember back in the mid-90's when Camel was sponsoring an Unlimited Hydroplane, as I used to attend these races from time to time.
  9. I would let it dry for a couple of days, and then lightly sand the areas with 1000 grit sand paper/cloth. Then clean off all sanding residue and re shoot the area lightly, then wait 'bout 20 minutes and shoot the whole body. Keep your nozzle closer to the body and you should be fine. Painting is not that hard to do and I'm sure that you'll get it soon.
  10. Looks like you need to feed Alf once in awhile.
  11. I'm surprised at that as it seems that in these days, many people seem to stare at their iPhone and eat at the same time.
  12. I had a slight mishap over the holiday weekend and ended up goin' to the docs yesterday. What pleases me is that my pain meds are helping me so far.
  13. I'd check with Harts Parts first, as he may offer the hood w/scoop for that Road Runner.
  14. Back in the mid-60's a number of race cars were "flat towed" with a tow bar to the drag strip and trailers were just starting to gain popularity back then. Of course some guys just drove their car to the strip and put on slicks when they got there, and sometimes removed their exhaust systems, rear seats, spare tires, etc. and went racin'.
  15. I strongly agree with you Jon, as I started building model kits in the mid 50's as plastic modeling was very popular then and it grew quite a bit into the 60's & 70's also. When the time comes I will try to introduce my grandson into model car building, but I don't have any great expectations on the outcome. I built models and still do for MY enjoyment, and if the kids today who hardly seem interested in real cars yet alone model cars don't carry the hobby on after us geezers are gone, I really don't care.
  16. Over the years I've never had any problems mixing & matching Testors, Tamiya, Dupli-Color, MCW, or Black Gold paints. They all seem to work together.
  17. I just love dem Mopars!
  18. Tow bars came in a number of kits back in the 60's, however I don't recall all of them. My guess is in the AMT '32 Ford Roadster, and the Buick Special Wagon with trailer. There have been others also, and maybe some other modelers can name them.
  19. It made even more racket in the vestibule of an apartment building Harry that had tiled walls.
  20. I build for me, and I only build for fun describes the way I feel. I enjoy what I build and if nobody else does, so be it.
  21. Those resin NOS bottles should work fine, and how hard can it be to paint them blue?
  22. I can't recall ever having a problem with regular masking tape.
  23. I guess it does work just fine, wouldn't you say?
  24. Photo bucket test.................................
