  1. I have the '54 Corvette Nomad from the Danbury Mint, otherwise known as the Waldorf Nomad and it looks gorgeous.
  2. When I was in South Carolina a few years back with my better half, I really liked the way the young waitresses would talk y'all.
  3. Does anyone resin cast a large battery like the one found in the Revell Bob Glidden Pro Stock kits? I'm lookin' for one or more. Thanks.
  4. Sounds like a great event, however it's a loooooooong way from home and my better half & I already have our trips planned for this year. Post some pics if you can, and thanks.
  5. I saw the Belvedere kit yesterday at our club meeting and it looks great. The exhaust system looks real good also. Only trouble with those cutouts is that when they're closed they create back pressure. That exhaust system is also found on the Polar Lights '65 Coronet kits too.
  6. We've got a great swap meet comin' up next Sunday and another one two weeks later. While I don't need (want) much, I do enjoy walking around and seeing all the modelers I have met and known for many years. Since I have plenty to build, it's not unusual for me to walk out of a swap meet empty handed. There are a couple of kits that I'd like to find, and if I don't that's okay too as I usually go out to lunch afterwards with the guys I attend the swap meet with. Usually at a sports bar like Hooters or the Tilted Kilt.
  7. Congrats to you both Carl.
  8. Very nice as I just love FED's.
  9. Well it won't be long now before the so called experts will find things wrong with the Comet kit and start "bashing" that kit, just like they've done with every other kit release. Just wait, and you'll see what I mean.
  10. Hmmm, I haven't opened up my GTX convertible kit yet. Thanks for the info.
  11. Can't you just strip all of the chrome and either Alclad/Spaz-Stix it, or send it to Chrome Tech USA to have it re-plated?
  12. Yes, it does look like you're runnin' a little low on kits to build.
  13. If nobody buys the Modelhaus business and keeps it going, a lot of modelers are going to face a rude awakening.
  14. Here's a photo from a very popular winter event that is over 100 years old and still goin' strong..................................
  15. The S.L.A.M. meeting is this Saturday the 20th at Rickie's Rods, the weather is supposed to be good so I hope that we have good attendance that day. See you there.
  16. If they (Holthaus's) are "swamped" now with orders, it may be quite awhile before they reopen their website. Patience.
  17. I just saw gas marked at $1.75 9 per gallon this afternoon which is 'bout 30 - 35 cents higher than it was a week ago.
  18. Remember when the Big Rod, Big Drag, and Big Tub kits were only $10.98???
  19. I have a resin cast Hemi cross ram manifold, but I don't know who made it as I found it at a swap meet several years ago.
  20. It wouldn't surprise me if the Holthaus's don't take any more orders ever. They're lookin' to RETIRE, and when does this madness of people who want to "stock up" on Modelhaus products ever end??? To they need to work day and night to please some greedy modelers who order so much stuff that they'll never use it all, or are those modelers planning on selling some of their purchases later on? They should retire on THEIR terms and not on their customer's terms.
  21. Have you checked your sources like Competition Resins or Speed City Resins? I would.
  22. Looking for a job can be very stressful, especially when the bills keep comin' in the mailbox even though one has cut-back as much as they could. In my previous line of work, getting laid-off was very common and stressful, but I managed for 35 years. Of course a good wife that still works while you're lookin' for work always helps.
  23. Gas prices went up 20 cents per gallon around here this weekend.
  24. I use the time tested tan (brown) 3M masking tape and it works for me. With any kind of tape, I would shoot some clear along the tape edge, wait 20 minutes and then spray my color. Therefore, if there's any bleed through it would be clear and not your color.
