  1. Hmmmm, interesting. I still have a Scout kit made by Ertl somewhere in my stash.
  2. Hope you have a SPEEEEEDY recovery Kerry.
  3. I've had a PAP or Personal Articles Policy for my kits and die-cast collection and it is affordable, and a good idea. I've been thinnin' the herd lately, and now buy as few kits as possible as I'm tired of tradin' cash for plastic that just sits on a "pile."
  4. I've seen them in the $70 - $80 range and know that R/R Collectibles at (262) 728-5003 has one available. Ask for Rick.
  5. Good luck Kerry, as my prayers are with you.
  6. Maybe no good reason to sell fireworks in your opinion, but it's called "free enterprise" and there are far more worse things being sold in this country every day.
  7. Thanks Ken as I already know that Dick Portillo had sold the business, and it's still goin' strong. And I've already been to Boston and had some chowdah as well. It was even better in Maine.
  8. WOW for a hobby that's supposed to be FUN, we sure are gettin' "testy" here aren't we?
  9. Bumper guards, what a joke that is.............................
  10. I just got word this afternoon that Portillo's will be building a new restaurant 'bout 7 miles from my house and plans to open this November. That's kinda pushin' it, but it can be done. Plan is to hire 200 workers, and sorry to say that they won't hire me, as I would eat up all their profits. Oh well. I should watch my youthful (?) figure.
  11. I haven't seen any posts lately by our moderator Harry lately. Did he go for an extended vacation?
  12. Hmmmm, looks like I'm gonna hafta try a "flame job" real soon, as it can't be that hard to do. Hopefully this thread has inspired me. Thanks!
  13. The sky is falling, the sky is falling!
  14. I wait 20 minutes in between coats of paint. I paint the color coats one day, and the clear coats the next day. I let the paint "gas out" for a week or so before I polish it out with sanding cloths. This method seems to work out fine for me, other builders may do things differently. Whatever works!
  15. I used Testors Plum Crazy on my '71 Duster and I like the looks of it.
  16. Really nice job on that Olds Grzegorz.
  17. What a really nice job you've done on that Dodge Ed, and of course I just love dem Mopars!
  18. Young grandchildren have a way of pleasing their grandparents that is hard to describe, but they do.
  19. I go by the rule of grey primer under silver colors and blacks, and white primer under everything else and it seems to work out well for me.
  20. I use 5-Minute Epoxy to glue my photo etched parts and it seems to work out well for me.
  21. I hafta agree with you Snake45 'bout the red dye not coming through the Dupli-Color primer and color coats. When spraying over a colored plastic body, I spray silver, then primer, and then my color coats and clear coats with NO problems.
  22. Well to do folks, hmmmm?
  23. Very nice job on that "Bowtie" Clay.
  24. Again, why do you need to clear over decals? If you want protection, call Luigi or Giuseppe. Capisce?
  25. I myself shoot the color coats one day, and then the clear coats the following day. I then let it "gas out" for 'bout a week or more before I polish it out with sanding grit cloths. This seems to work good for me over the years.
