  1. Real nice job on that Dart Mike and I just love dem Mopars!
  2. Havin' been a Ventura owner myself back-in-the-day you are correct Mike, as the Ventura is an upgraded Catalina
  3. If so, then why is it that I got five quotes for the same insurance coverage and the rates varied from $820 to $1380 per year?
  4. The 4th of July is kinda like anyother day and has been for quite awhile. Most all the stores are open with huge sales, the restaurants, gas stations, etc. are all open as well for "business as usual." Back in the 50's most everyplace was closed on this holiday, except for the neighborhood tavern. Yes, it was even hard to find a gas station open on a holiday. Don't forget to "fly da flag" today in honor of our great country's independence, and have a great day.
  5. I still have two of those trailer kits sealed and haven't got around to building them as yet. One without the clear sides would look good with a mid-60's drag car on it , and period-correct also.
  6. Nice job on both Peter and I just love dem Mopars!
  7. I've heard from a friend of mine who builds model airplanes that he used Future on his canopy glass and it works great. I'm gonna hafta try it on my plane model, as I value his opinion.
  8. It seems like the insurance agents charge whatever they want and hope that someone takes the bait.
  9. That's a "money shot," very cool!
  10. And that irked you today?
  11. Where abouts in Chicago as a lot of shops are gone?
  12. Years ago I had called Geico for a quote for my Mom's auto insurance and it was higher than she was already paying. You gotta shop around as I just changed my insurance company and saved 'bout $400 a year.
  13. I just happened to have an appointment late this afternoon and when I was done, it was 'bout time for dinner and there was a Portillo's Restaurant on the way home. So guess what?
  14. I did say base coat of silver or gold, and I usually use a light coat (like Tamiya) of white primer over the bare plastic. I only use grey primer if I'm spraying silver or black over it. The primer will make the next coat (base) grab onto it.
  15. Yes, I just finished a "candy paint" job 'bout a week ago using "rattlecans" and it came out great. I'm havin' trouble postin' pics on this site, so no pic. Use a base coat over your primer such as silver or gold and let it dry for a day or so. Then apply your candy color coats in LIGHT coats and go a bit heavier on your final coat. TOO many coats will come out a solid color and your basecoat will not show through. I've seen a candy red paint job come out maroon because the builder put on too many coats of candy red. I hope this helps. You could send me a PM with your e-mail addy and I could send you some candy pics if you'd like.
  16. Well yes I believe it and I would've bid on it myself, except that I'm a little short on ca$h this week.
  17. How can anyone rationalize millions of recalls???
  18. Yeah I got sand kicked in my face today, and hopefully tomorrow will be better.
  19. Lookin' good shay and I like the color choice as well.
  20. We were lucky not to lose power as we had the flashlights ready. Driving around today, I didn't see any damage as large branches, broken trunks, etc.
  21. I decant my TS-13 Clear as well. I just push down on the nozzle and aim toward the model car body and it works great!
  22. Welcome to the forum Scott as this is a great place to be.
