  1. Back-in-the-day gassers were street driven (daily drivers) hot rods that would race on Sundays. They had head lights, tail lights, license plates, horn, mufflers, rear view mirror, two seats or a bench, and all that street legal stuff. NO convertibles as they had to have a top. The class was called: Gas Coupes & Sedans. Back in the mid-60's the class got a bit looser and the pros (SW&C, Big John, Ohio George, etc.) came in and up went the front axles, off went the mufflers, the license plates, etc. If you want to learn about gassers, read Gasser Wars by Larry Davis or Supercharged Gas Coupes by Don Montgomery. Don't just look at the pictures. Today the term "gasser" is used VERY loosely and a lot of people don't really know what a real gasser is.
  2. Looks like you're NOT having a good day Bill, hopefully tomorrow will be much better for you.
  3. The show is when the show is, and either a person wants in, or they want out. SIMPLE.
  4. Very nice as I just love dem Mopars, especially 65's.
  5. Nothing "irked" me today as it was Father's Day and I spent a good part of the day with most of the family. Even got to do a bit of spray painting also. So, NO complaints.
  6. I remember meeting Rick Hanmore several years back at the Toledo NNL, but haven't seen him since. I thought that he had worked for the Danbury or Franklin Mint Company, no?
  7. 90 cars for a first-time contest is really good.
  8. Craig, I can get a garage door spring replaced in an hour.
  9. The "main problem" is too many OVERPAID execs doing nothing. Reminds me of D.C.
  10. Flash floods are NO fun, and people should use caution and good judgment when confronted with one.
  11. Do any resin casters offer the Victor intake manifolds? TIA
  12. I keep all my paints in the house as it is a controlled environment, and it works great.
  13. The alternators are not "floating" as the belt holds them up. LOL! I believe Model Car Garage has a bracket set, and there are also a couple of brackets in one of their engine detailing sets I believe also. Or maybe it's Detail Master that has the brackets(?) as I do have them somewhere in my "stash."
  14. Hope it'll work for you for a loooooooooooong time Harry. LOL!
  15. A model car contest is a model car contest. Are you in, or are you out???
  16. He's probably Lost in America again.
  17. Mike, now I see it was at Route 66, Duh! I haven't been there in awhile since I did the Goodguys show there in 2010(?). I was just at Great Lakes Dragaway last Saturday for the Hunnert Car Heads Up nostalgia meet. It was awesome. Goin' to Byron on July 19th for the Meltdown Drags. I really like the additions to your video as well. You live in Ottawa? I remember going to the drag boat races there a couple of times.
  18. Cool video Mike and that answers my question as well. Was that video taken a Cordoba?
  19. You've got THAT right Harry, as a Chicago native I just hafta agree.
  20. When you drop it on the ground, be sure to step on it as well. I had so called pizza out East last fall on a Fall Colors Tour, and it was really bad.
