  1. At least you don't have anymore snow to deal with Rob.
  2. Only 55 Tom? Give it another 10 years and see how you feel. You'll probably have a longer list of ailments as well. At 55 I was still doing construction work and building America, now I chase the lawnmower around the yard and thank God that I'm still able to paint occasionally and do other things around the house & yard.
  3. How much time do you guys have, as I've got a list just like everybody else. LOL! As we get older (not old) I truly believe that ALL of us start having a few to many medical problems that we have to deal with. My uncle used to say that as we get older we're like old cars and our "parts" start to wear out. I thank GOD for everyday I'm here to enjoy life and deal with the problems I have. Sometimes when I hear of other peoples medical problems, mine aren't so bad.
  4. Modelhaus offers a really nice set (part # 220) of redline tires.
  5. Or maybe you could just use masking tape, no?
  6. STOP with the food pics Harry, as you're making me hungry. Thanks!
  7. Good seein' you Kennyboy at the AMG meeting tonight. Looks like you've found yourself a "home" which is good.
  8. They are VERY reliable when it comes to taking your money, from what I had heard. 'Nuff said?
  9. It doesn't seem to work for me either for some reason, and it used to.
  10. Wayne, I remember Jimmy's Hot Dog stand very well on the corners of Grand and Pulaski Aves. A good friend of mine lived just down the street from Jimmy's, so I was there often. Mr. Norm's Grand Spaulding Dodge was close by that area as well. Those days were great times.
  11. I usually wait a few days after spraying my primer on and then give the primer a light sanding. I'll then spray the color coats in one day and the clear coats the next day, waiting 'bout 20 minutes in between coats. After the clear coats dry for 'bout a week or two, I'll then use my polishing cloths and level the surfaces out and bring out a brilliant shine. I use this method with all lacquers such as Tamiya, Testors, Black Gold, MCW, Dupli-Color, or even a combination of those mentioned paints. While I'm not the best painter, I do get satisfying results.
  12. I remember back in the 50's & 60's when there were hot dog carts in Chicago, and boy were the dogs ever good!
  13. MCW offers a resin '65 Plymouth Satellite which is pretty nice. I just need to build mine.
  14. Sounds like it's the "valley of fire."
  15. Ray, while it's not a "hot box" here we still have high humidity so I do my paint spraying indoors where it's air conditioned. My better half is not thrilled about the little bit of paint smell, but it is my house too, and with the bath exhaust fan and a ceiling fan the air clears up rather quickly.
  16. Wow, a really nice job on that Mopar!
  17. Change your bank Michael to a "full service" bank and they'll be able to take care of ALL your needs.
  18. I've got some car related events to attend all weekend long, but it seems that the rain is going to be making an appearance or two. Shoot!
  19. When using Dupli-Color, I prefer the "shake & spray" method, and I get good results as well. NO thinning, no mixing, no cleaning, just painting.

    1966 GTO

VERY nice job on that "Goat" Marcos and it looks great in blue. A good friend of mine owns a 1:1 '66 GTO in a Barrier Blue color and has had the car for years.
  21. Paint it any blue that looks good to you and enjoy the build, as this is a hobby and not a job.
  22. Rich, whatever works is good, and what works for one may not work for another.
  23. Why get a whole new garage door opener Tom, when you can just buy parts and fiddle with your old one for weeks just like Harry did? This way you can learn about things and also about defeat as well. Same thing 'bout your "daily driver" if it fails, fix it yourself and take a cab to work for the next month while the car is "laid up" on jack stands in your driveway. See how much money you can save by doing that as well, and don't forget to factor in the frustration also.
  24. With using the credit card I receive "airline miles" which gets me away every year. However there are a few "cash only" places and I'm sure they can "fudge" their books somewhat when it comes to paying taxes.
  25. That should be a cool build Dan, as I just love dem Mopars!
