  1. Huh, you mean those TFN jars? Yes, "tips for nothing." Would you go to McDonalds or Burger King and tip the person behind the counter? How 'bout the guy that helps you in the hardware store? When you order a pizza by phone and go and pick it up, are you going to tip the person who takes your money and hands you the pizza? Are you nutz? They're supposed to take your order, take your ca$h, and give you what you ordered. NO tipping necessary. A waiter or waitress however brings you water, takes and delivers your drink order, takes and delivers your food order, and answers to your needs for you to enjoy that meal. They're hoping to get tipped for good to great service.
  2. The S.L.A. M. (Southern Lakes Auto Modelers) meet this Thursday Aug. 21st at Rickie's Rods at 502 S. 2nd Street in Delavan, Wisconsin from 6 - 9 p.m.
  3. My grandson coming over this morning pleased me, as he's almost one year old and cute as a button.
  4. Wow, what a gorgeous job you did on that Wiilys. It's beautiful!
  5. I hope the new house works out for you and the Mrs. Andy and it would be really good if you could attend the monthly AMG meetings, as they always seem to "work" for me over the years. Hopefully you'll find a job that works better for you as well. Good luck!.
  6. Good haul Andy as I need to get to the "Empire" one of these days.
  7. Having a "safe" vacation for the last ten days. I thank the Lord.
  8. Going through security today at the airport in Vancouver, British Colombia as it was a "pain."
  9. 2015 is less than 5 months away and I have plenty to build. I wish I had as much motivation as I do plastic.
  10. Try Bandit Resin also.
  11. Too many thin coats and you'll soon lose the "candy effect" of the base coat showing through. Go easy on the coats, as one builder I know of used too many coats of candy red and ended up with a maroon colored body instead.
  12. Some of the two-legged models I've seen recently.
  13. Good advice Tom, but when I do BMF I don't agree with tips # 3,4,5, & six, but that's just the way I work with the material.
  14. Craig and I got to stop at the Hooter's in Brookfield for some wings before going to the meeting and also at Greenfield News & Hobby as well. We wanted to stop at the "Empire" as well, but the heavy "rush hour" traffic cut our time short.
  15. Good time as always last night at the AMG meeting, and also good to see Kennyboy and Kerry there as well.
  16. My wife and I went to dinner and a play tonight with another couple to celebrate our birthdays as we're all Leos and our birthdays are close to one another's. A good time.
  17. I was at the hobby shop yesterday and since I have PLENTY of kits to build, I just bought a can of Tamiya TS-13 Clear and a Mopar magazine, as the shop is Greenfield News & Hobby and has an extensive magazine rack.
  18. Andy, I just saw on the 10 o'clock news about the water problems in Toledo, and that's not good. I hope that things get better with the water supply real soon.
  19. www.modelroundup.com carries the Ross Gibson line of resin engines and good service also.
  20. Take care of your wife Mike as there'll be other shows. On Sept. 28th I believe is the DuPage Swap meet in Wheaton.
  21. I saw some at my local Hobby Lobby much like the ones I use ALL the time. They're 'bout 6 inches long and have 'bout a 45 degree bend near the tip. They're also great for removing excess BMF. I wouldn't build models without them.
  22. ALL my models are just "practice" for my next build. I don't use practice bodies to try paint, nor spoons either. I "shoot from the hip" and hope for the best. Guess I'm pretty lucky as my models do come out to my liking.
  23. Bill, give BMF an "honest" try as it's not rocket science. And if you're not happy with a piece of foil on the body, just take the tip of the Xacto knife blade and lift one end up and use your tweezers to pull it off. Then redo it to your liking. You CAN do it.
  24. Oh, I thought by the title that you meant the Hooters Car and Bike Show that was held two weeks ago? The cars were nice and the wings were great!
  25. I was just at Greenfield News & Hobby today, but I haven't been to Forever Timeless in a few years now.
