  1. All my "outdoor chores" will be there when I get to them. No hurry.
  2. Yes Mike, if you've not done all the work on a model, you should not be able to enter it in the contest. Devil's advocated? I think not as there is a BIG difference between model cars and 1:1 cars. When a 1:1 car is commissioned to be built say for the Ridler Award, we're talkin' THOUSANDS of dollars. Model cars is first and foremost, only a hobby.
  3. I've entered and also help judge many contests over the years. It is not right to enter a model if YOU didn't build it all. If you display a model, that is not all your work, it should be noted.
  4. Yep, Gus's is a great place but a bit far for me to go to often. Oh well.
  5. Nice build on that dragster Brian, real nice!
  6. I remember Mages stores Harry and I did eat at Gino's East a number of times back in the late 60's as well. Yep the good old days, and I'm happy to be able to remember a lot of things about them. Life is good!
  7. You build models on the dining room table Harry? I used to do that back in the 70's, and I've also put newspapers on the bed and did spray painting over it as well. I've been building models for many years and never had a spray booth, I don't use my air-brushes and compressor, and I don't have a dehydrator either. Yet I still manage to crank out a few kits every year. Life is good!
  8. Have fun Harry as I'll be buildin' year 'round and hopefully get some kits built. Yes, I'll also be doin' the outside chores as well.
  9. Jim, don't blame my dining habits for your dinner tonight. LOL!
  10. The attitudes of people today have changed dramatically from the 50's & 60's. It seems like a lot of people have this "hurray for me and FY" attitude. I especially notice it when I'm drivin' on the highways.
  11. There's MORE cars comin' Kerry, trust me.
  12. Drive safe Don, and I hope to see you there as well.
  13. Nice job on that Fiat Lee as I'm currently workin' on one as wel,l and it's orange also. I like that you put the chute on the outside of the body, as if I were drivin' the 1:1 car, I wouldn't trust that chute comin' out of the hole for the tire cover.
  14. Gus's sounds good Kerry, as I wish it were 'bout 20 miles closer to me. I think that I only got out there once last year. Maybe I'll do better this year?
  15. Nice project Steve as we had a club member show up to our meeting last night and put the Ohio George Malco Mustang on the display table and it looks real good. The re-issue is on my "must have" list which is kinda short to begin with.
  16. I should have a dozen more trips to Portillo's by the end of this September, then I'll have to work on the next dozen.
  17. I'm not really into trucks in scale, so I won't be getting one. I've had trucks for "daily drivers" for the last 20 years, and it sure comes in handy every once in awhile.
  18. Hang in there Joe, you're almost there.
  19. Glad to see that you're goin' to be a regular Kennyboy as you "fit right in." I don't know 'bout that Kerry guy though. LOL! See you guys at the NNL.
  20. C'mon Joe, you're lettin' winter get to you? You can do better than that. I don't know how many times I've been to Portillo's, but its a LOT, and hopefully I'm not done yet.
  21. Only ONE more week 'til the Milwaukee NNL 22 which is on April 12th from 3 - 9 p.m. I hope to see some of you there, and by all means bring some of your models to display as well. The "other mag" will be taking photos and last year we had 900+ models on the tables. There will be a swap meet the next day. If anyone needs a flyer, send me a PM with your e-mail addy, and I'll get it out to you.
  22. Great meeting last night as we're getting ready to put on the Milwaukee NNL 22 NEXT Saturday April 12th. Missed you Kerry, where are you?
  23. I guess winter is takin' it's sweet azz time leavin' this year, and we just have to "deal with it."
  24. As for the '48 Ford in the cream color, there must be an "overstock."
