For the drive from here to NNL East the 40 minute charge time would probably add over 2 hours to the trip whereas Hydrogen that fills as fast (or almost) as fast as a gasoline car would not. Don't need to add 2 hours on an already 12 hour trip. To each his own.

I think we can partially blame Tesla for the push to electric versus hydrogen. Somehow Musk has managed to convince a large group of people that this is cool and the way of the future. And once they've drunk the Kool-Aid, you can't convince them that there are serious downsides. Even the left leaning Toronto Star published an article on the "dirty" side of electrical cars namely the environmental disaster of producing batteries. But it's hilarious to see Tesla devotees attacking anyone who says the least uncomplimentary thing about the Tesla vehicles. In the end Hydrogen makes more sense. It could be set up at every station that currently uses gasoline. It doesn't take as long as an electric car to get back on the road after refuelling and it's just water coming out of the tailpipe.

Discord seems like an inappropriate name for a chat room service. It literally implies you're going there to argue and disagree with people. That said, now I know something new.

Seems to me we end up with enough discord in the model community as it is without needing a site for people to go argue and fight. Maybe it would be good, people could fight and argue there instead of here on the forum.

I think the Crown Vics are popular for converting vintage Ford trucks to modern engine and chassis. They will probably become scarce fast.

This is the second year it's been gone. The chief organizer has health concerns (as does his wife) and no one was willing to step up and take the show on. Also he was the chief contact with the school where it was held as he had taught there for many years. So now Heritagecon in Hamilton and Torcan in Brampton are the 2 big central Ontario shows. WelCoME show is happening in Guelph on November 4th.

I think the difference is that the tires Todd showed have the Firestone logos which Modelhaus had to stop doing and I doubt the new ones produced will have the logos.

I have to agree. I always thought it looked closest to a Bay Window VW van. But it so generic that it can be any van you want.

Sometimes the right lane ends up being the passing lane because everybody is exercising their God given right to stay in the middle and left lanes. Often coming north from Toronto I can drive the whole way home in the right lane since no one wants to drive there. No wonder Europeans who are accustomed to the discipline of the autobahn can't figure out what the dickens we are doing on our roads here in North America.
