  1. Yes, Velocity U.S. is now MotorTrend on Demand and they get a lot more shows than we do up here. Discovery Velocity shows the same stuff over and over and over. Some one who had never watched it checked it out recently and said to me: "all the shows are 3, 4, 5 years old!" Yep! Some Australian Supercars or other racing series would be nice. But would they get advertisers? Even the Nascar races you see the same Pinty's and Toyota commercials repeatedly so who would advertise on non-known (so to speak) racing series?
  2. Very sharp little Mini!
  3. I think it will take much longer than 6 to 10 years, Mike. Think of how many millions of fossil fuel driven cars are on the road right now. They are not all going to be replaced in 6-10 years. There is no doubt that is the way we are going as well as non-self driven cars. Governments are (for some reason) pushing as hard for autonomous cars as they are for electric or alternate fuel source cars. But we are nowhere close to either and again it will take years to get all the fossil fuel, self driven cars off the roads. Maybe in small countries with excellent public transportation for the whole country but that certainly doesn't describe the USA or Canada.
  4. Yes, I've noticed the same thing since last evening. Awhile before it went down, Tom mentioned they were having issues that could affect some use of the board. I'm guessing the issues were bigger than first thought?
  5. Great job on your 24 hour build!
  6. Cool modern interpretation of the 48 Ford!
  7. Beautiful build!
  8. Like it or not "Gregg" pays for this site as well as publishes (when he can) the magazine. Don't refer to him as a mythical person. Just because you're new here and don't know him, don't denigrate him. Many of us know Gregg and have met him at shows. He is indeed a great guy. He's published a great magazine for a number of years and unfortunately due to Golden Bell publishing suddenly pulling out on him and continuing extreme back problems things are currently bogged down for the last couple of years.
  9. I think it just happened recently. I believe someone mentioned talking to the owner at the Southern Nats and they were talking about winding it down at that time. I guess it has finally happened.
  10. Well done & nicely weathered. Great build.
  11. Very cool concept, Ray. Very nicely done.
  12. The other thing is that since it's a tv stunt car it could well be some green colour thrown together by the prop or movie car rental people to distinguish it from a regular Hazard County patrol car. As in "boys, paint one of them white cars a different colour as we need it to be a different sheriff's department." So good luck finding the exact colour. As Dave said go with a medium green that's close and call it good.
  13. Just started on the 59 kit. Hope it comes out as nice as yours.
  14. Is there a way to quote you but move it to the irked section? Spent an hour today clearing snow.
  15. One of the reasons for the disparity is that the pleased post was created a year after the irked post. It's never caught up. Also we're more than likely to "pile in" on an irked post (traffic for example) than we are on a pleased post.
  16. I don't want this to turn political but where is all the plastic coming from? We recycle all our plastics. Been doing so for years. As far as I know it eventually gets shipped to a foreign country for recycling. Are they the ones then taking it and dumping it in the ocean? Are people saving all their plastic and then taking vacation and driving to the ocean and dumping it in? I want to know why I can't have a straw when I live in the middle of a large continent nowhere near an ocean.?
  17. Very cool low Bug!
  18. If you are using acrylic paint you can mix in some Liquitex Iridescent Medium to get a metallic effect.
  19. Very cool Model T sled!
  20. From what one of my fellow Canadians told me about his discussion at the Moebius booth at Motor City NNL was that, indeed, angry letters are what's needed. Apparently the new owners are not that interested in the automotive side and if we want to see the models released that had been shown before the sale, you have to let Pegasus know we really want them. It seems silly but it does explain the sound of crickets on news about Moebius releases. That said we have now seen the box art for the Ford truck and service bed so who knows about the rest.
  21. Yes, it seems to happening here in Canada as well. Drastically reduced shelving for models or none at all in some stores.
  22. Very nice clean build of that Chevy. Kudos!
  23. Very nice job on the Evo. The headlight buckets really look good.
  24. Very sharp 65 Poncho!
  25. Very nice factory stock 40 Ford Standard!
