  1. The Bugattis are out, the 488 Spyder is just coming out and is also curbside based on the kit samples I've seen by the vendor on FB. The 488 GTB is yet to come out and I have not seen full kit samples to know how much of an engine there will be given that there is the glass over the engine compartment.
  2. I would say about 15%, which include expensive (think Model Factory Hiro 1/24 scale Ferraris) and hard to find kits (until the manufacturer finally decides to do a reissue). I have boxed them carefully and have an estimated value for what is each box. I also will have them insured.
  3. It is a 2000 mile move from the Chicago area to Southwest Washington state about 20 miles from Portland Oregon. We have already made a couple of trips out where some stuff came with like my best builds. But I have over 700 unbuilt kits in 38 boxes. Insurance is not an issue, we will have coverage.
  4. I have a bunch of rarer or pricier kits that I have boxed up with others, plus my PE, parts, transkits and decal stashes. Still not sure if I should have them moved with the other household goods or do something like PODS? Anybody have any experiences or advice (some photos below).
  5. For those who haven't gotten one, I guess the Riviera is a good choice, but it seems to have frequently been reissued, sometimes with way less content. But, I personally find it hard to get another of some of these when I have unbuilts sitting in the stash.
  6. Ask the moderators to do it, and go back and edit your original content as well!
  7. The carb is representing a Holley four barrel. The 1:1 LT1's came with a 780 CFM Holley Double Pumper.
  8. After we complete our move, I will try out some of your paint. "Model Shop" is closed at this time as everything is in boxes
  9. Jon, if you are not soon starting, I can trade the SS hood for the cowl hood if you would like. All the stuff is boxed up now and we'll back in Camas some time late July (unless the mover schedule gets hosed). I'll bring it to a SABA meeting
  10. I only have about 3 of my 68 Z28 that have not been lost over the years and none of the engine bay that had the short ram manifold and cold air ducting to the plenum
  11. I've searched the forums for the AMT Camaro fix you mentioned and cannot seem to find it. Can you provide a link/reference?
  12. Neither had I. The last time was around 1999-2000 in the Seattle area. And it was a right hand drive version.
  13. As we are back in Illinois on our final packing trip, I got some time to attend the monthly Supercar Saturday. Although foreign and modern muscle cars dominate, there are some interesting vehicles that show up from time to time. Flickr Car Show Photo ALbum Link...
  14. There were some HD wheels a few years back that had some bad casting. I did get replacements from the vendor when I complained. Recent stuff is VERY good
  15. Ditto on what Bob said!!
  16. If you do the window tape, highly recommend putting in a zip-loc baggy to avoid any possible moisture on the window attacking the decals. Doesn't take but a tad of moisture in the wrong spot
  17. If you observe the work done at IPMS or other modeling events in Europe, American "Iron" has a definite place. The recent Jabbeke event had quite a few American oriented models as well as exotics and Japanese market. WIll be interesting to see what happens at the upcoming Dortmund event. A wait and see approach is best, as speculation can escalate into views that incense people. There are many potential business scenarios that can play out and we have no idea the drivers. We know the facts around the sale and that Revell USA is presently shuttered. If one looks at RoG, the American oriented kits were sourced from Revell USA as some of the RoG models were reboxed as Revell USA. The sad part is that 20-30 people at Revell USA put there their hearts and careers into the company and their ESOP went to zero and they are now laid off.
  18. From my viewpoint, wake me up when something interesting pops up. So far, nothing interesting. Of course, with about 700 unbuilt kits....
  19. I have one of these packed for the move. Lots of nice customizing parts, and some odd ones. Here is a link to the instructions online: http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/amt-instructions/automotive-cars--pi/ford/1951-1960/amt-57-t-bird-troph/
