  1. Per a definition, Gunmetal may actually refer to a shade of gray that has a bluish purple tinge.
  2. He was vending at the DuPage Swap Meet in February, I think. Looked like the usual stuff, including parts.
  3. That or I use the fine point Tamiya swabs with water to scour it out. Watch out with Alcohol (even 70%) if you have A lacquer paint job, particularly Tamiya or Testors.
  4. I believe there was one reissue that was only the stock parts. But, all the others included the custom parts as far as I know
  5. Sadly another yawn again as nothing is on wish list
  6. I display the ones that I really like. Mostly in display cases, but, after the move, some dioramas as well. Others I give away to people I know who like the model and really want to display it themselves. A few have been damaged in the last two moves and have yet to get to the repair "station".
  7. I have several sets of these in different colors like black, red, white, silver and gold. Bu, they are all packed away for my impending move. I just did a google search to pick it up.
  8. Are talking about this one? Which are custom scallops that are not car specific. You use these to your liking and fitment on a model.
  9. I am really liking this!! GREAT JOB!
  10. Good idea. I built one years ago that got damaged in our move out west. By then, you could not find a replacement kit and the internet was called APRANET/ .
  11. Not my cup of tea.
  12. If you mean this: BNL Resin http://www.b-n-lresins.com/index.html
  13. I will usually replace the belts, but have, on occasion, used a Xacto No. 11 to scrape the belt to make it thinner.
  14. It varies depending on what you are modeling and what style (custom, stock, etc.). If you are replicating a period stock vehicle, you would need to research (or query the knowledge base here) on painting techniques. The underspray along the edges is what one would usually expect a vehicle being painted to exhibit since the entire underside is not exposed. Many stock vehicles in harsher climate zones may have been undercoated to prevent rust. That would generally show as matte black. Chassis and suspension parts were often painted black (again depends on vehicle) and wheel wells may also vary. dd to this if you consider weathering. A custom vehicle, on the other hand, might be sprayed entirely body color for the effect and the fact that they would be mounted on a rotisserie. But, it really gets down to your taste and whether you wish to display the underside of the car. Unless you are doing replica stock and making everything visible, you are the builder.
  15. My understanding is that once the resellers get them, the pre-order expires. Also, expect about $30 shipping to the US on top of the $120
  16. Yep. Got one plus a street version as well as the Revell Rally version.
  17. A few others as well, but I plan to build all but perhaps the 65 Bonneville, 62 Tempest and 69 Grand Prix. I may sell those off after I move into the new house get settled.
  18. Yes. Just can't get instant response. Steve is pretty good with that.
  19. He's on Holiday now, so no orders will be handled for two-three weeks
  20. Great technique. I appreciate the tutorial!!
  21. I've got 44 boxes loaded, not counting the HO stuff. Two more are partially loaded. Then there is all the Photoetch, aftermarket parts, parts boxes, tires, wheels, decals, and diorama stuff (tools, figures, furniture, etc.) that are waiting to be boxed.
