  1. Nothing really floating my boat on these, except possibly the wheel/tire pack. I have a couple of the 69 Chevelles and the MPC 69 Firebird Coupe. From a previous post, I even have the 65 Riviera, although I may check out to see if anything extra that is exciting. Nothing else of interest. Now, if AMT retooled the Gen 6 Camaro to a ZL1 with a correct LT4 "top end", that WOULD generate some interest. Also would be nice if they could dig up the AMT Open Road Camper Van, the MPC Cosworth Vega and a 67 Chevy pickup.
  2. Great research job and report out! THANKS
  3. Since I just got back to the Chicago area to complete the process of moving back to the Pacific Northwest, I had the opportunity to attend the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals. As usual, there were some very nice cars on display. Too many Mopars for my liking , but a very interesting mix of vehicles, including some unique customs. Anyway, here is a link to the Flicker Album for the show… Flickr MCACN Show Album...
  4. Maybe this means I can get replacements for the Unimog tires that are melted blobs. Unless someone knows of an alternative?
  5. I've heard a bunch of speculation, including a LaFerrari Aperta. But nothing from anybody with a good pulse on what's happening. Will be interesting. I like Rob's idea of an LC 500, but Tamiya doing an 812 Superfast would be REALLY something, but highly unlikely.
  6. And I got it at what I consider a reasonable price. There is no decal sheet, but that doesn't bother me. There is custom bodywork unique to the 66. I also have a 67 unbuilt (with the Yenko stinger decals). The 57 bird has all the custom parts and the Superbird is complete as well, but it is molded in blue. But, that is not a problem for me. When I build it, it will only be the 3rd Mopar I've done.
  7. Picked these up at the Oregon Society of Scale Modelers event yesterday. The 3 on the left were picked up from vendors and the 2 on the right were door prizes. I also entered 3 models and was fortunate enough to come away with these:
  8. That's what it reminded me of, but it didn't come to mind
  9. The big consideration is accessibility of the kit and what induction system you are seeking. The AMT 58 Impala has a 348 as well as 59 El Camino (as mentioned 348 and 409 look the same externally. The AMT 58 Impala includes a single carb and tri-carb setups. The 59 El Camino has tri-carb and a blower. The Revell 65 Impala Convertible has a single 4 BBL 409. The recently reissued AMT 61 Impala is actually the Lindberg one, with a single 4 BBL. The AMT 62, non-race car versions, offer inline or short ram dual 4 BBL options. The Revell 62's Impala and Impala SS offer the same inline dual 4 BBL option. I would opt for the later AMT 62 or Revell 62 as a base.
  10. I don't think AMT did a convertible. Revell did the convertible and it uses a 283 FI engine.
  11. You dabbed it on with that chopped paint brush in the photo? Anything specific about the chalk? That is about as close a look of ALcantara that I have seen. I have been mist spraying a light color from a distance to get the effect, but it is too regular.
  12. Try this.... http://www.collectormodel.com/round2-models/4642-amt-model-kits-garage-accessory-series-set-1/#sthash.yu7xL09v.RvzNwTee.dpbs
  13. Curious about what the 57 Thunderbird wire wheels were?
  14. First question to ask is if you are applying too much pressure?
  15. I seem to recollect either an AMT or MPC late 70's or early 80's Camaros had a Weber manifold option on small block Chevy. Can't attest to accuracy. My stuff is still boxed up, so I can't check to see if I have anything further. I'm drawing a blank on further detail. Anyone else recollect this?
  16. Deck to the outside. Lower level is still about 5 feet above grade.
  17. Crazy Modeler and Hobby Design. I will have to dig into my boxes to find examples
  18. It will be about a week before I start to unpack the Hobby Room and set it up. The "BOSS" will want the main level neat and usable first. Here is the Hobby Room before the movers delivered: Here it is after the movers left:
  19. Times 2. I use that technique and it works well.
  20. That is in the moving box getting ready to get back to Washington State. I have a slew more Ferraris.
