  1. Since this posting was first put on line, I have tried to convince myself this is what we should have expected Better part of two days, I tried not to find fault with Revell for this....But the more i think about it, we as customers, have been just plain ripped off. Now, those of you who know me, lnow i have supported the model companies in their efforts to give us a fair product at a decent price, even if they weren't accurate, or didn't fit to gether well....Always said that's the price you pay so they could stay in business....We compromised our standards / kept thinking " just buy it to support the hobby ,and so they can stay in business"..... N O.... M O R E ! This was the last straw for me, I'm TIRED OF GETTING RIPPED OFF !. (end of rant).
  2. From the pictures, glad I did not get too excited....those wheels SUCK !
  3. I tried them when they first hit the market. Threw them out,
  4. I have never cared for that roofline on the 48 Chevy. You have not only done a beautiful job, but changed my mind....'Z'
  5. Great job, but don't you mean'39' ?
  6. Great ides. My only suggestion would be to'countersink' the tonneau cover flush with the rest of your body work, it interrupts the flow of your work ( understanding this is just an opinion...)...Still, all in all,a good idea....'Z'
  7. I would have to say that- while Hobby Lobby doesn't carry a selection that interests me, they DO have a variety that usually runs 30 to 40 differant 'current ' kits, plus a good selection of ships, planes, etc.I think, as hobbiests, we're just plain spoiled ! If they would have had this selection when I was a teen ager, I would have passed out from excitement !
  8. I fully expect to see the same kit, with possible modified suspension, and good looking wheels riding skinny crappy tires. Maybe better seats, possible custom induction system. But, If we get anything other than the stock body, frame, and interior bucket, i will be totally surprised. Delieriously happy, but surprised.....
  9. GREAT job !This was mastered for RMR by me, and uses the R/MProwler windshield, and R/M Mini Cooper headlights, and utilizes the Revell 41 Willys street rod kit. The wheel wells have all been filled in and re shaped, the hood was pie cut, nose laid back, then molded in and a new hood cut out. It also includes an interior and a dash....'Z'
  10. Cool build; glad to see you changed it to 'kitbashed'....Still a good job.
  11. Most people don't know, Knox has a pretty good little hobby shop, pretty much model car related. Probably has 500 models on the shelves, and boxes upon boxes of separate parts....Hobbiest, I think....
  12. Door handles and side marker lights are easily added. I would just be happy to have this body as a starting point....And, no matter WHAT level of detail, SOMEONE will find fault with it....
  13. Really liked this, tll I got to the headlights...then, not so much....
  14. You can get everything you need from Hobby lobby for about 45 bucks. If you take a friend, and you both use a 40% off coupon, you can drop that to about 28 bucks, that's resin, hardener, mold making material, and mold kicker. Doesn't get much cheaper than that !
  15. IMHO, Jimmy Flintstone puts out a fair product, great variety, and the price is right. I've never seen a piece by him I thought was unbuildable. Best castings out there are by Replicas and miniatures. Modelhaus 'ain't cheap' but excellent quality.R&R, my advice....don't mail order, look at his stuff at a show (which is hard, because he's cut WAY BACK on his show stuff. Race motor Replicas does some nice stuff, but i'm a bit biased, because I do masters for them.Missing Link and motor city Resin are really nice, P&P resins are too, as are Bandit resin.....
  16. Nice work ! are you going to drop the front any ?Easy to do by relocating the spindle posts....
  17. Perry's is in Canada. STRANGE things happen to things mailed to - and from - Canada....Not sayin yea or nay, about his service, although i've never had a problem....but strange things DO HAPPEN across the borders....'Z'
  18. Wrong back tires,too....
  19. Pegasus has some really nice IROC wheels, to start with....'Z'
  20. Race Motor Replicas also has a cowl hood for an S-10.
  21. Cranky, I do not know who you are tryin to kid...That is NOT gold, it's BLUE !
  22. My father showed me how to use a hammer, saw, level, miter box, shovel...I remember spending one entire summer when I was fifteen, pulling used nails out of boards and hammering them straight again, so they could be reused ( Dad was a Minister; we were rebuilding a church.) We were the only kids in town who had tongue and groove flooring, tilt out windows, screen door, and two sets of bunkbeds in our TREEHOUSE !....POINT being, he taught us skills I use to this day, and I think that is reflected in my modelling....Hand a teen ager a level today, and see their reaction...HUH ??!.....
  23. I was under the impression the 32 3 window full fendered kit and the Speedwagon preceeded the highboy roadster?
  24. I cast these in two styles,,to fit the AMT wagonrod / Phantom Vicky / Prowler tires, Based on the wheels in the old Monogram '66 Chevelle, they are available with cast in lugs, or covered lugs, with a big nut in the middle. If interested, PM me....'Z' (Sorry, no pics yet; just finished them last night)
  25. Nine thirty on Saturday mornin, and i've ALREADY got two useful tips, forum is only half read so far; gonna be a great day !
