  1. Great to see this one come out. So , this is the 1st time since the 60's that this kit was released? How much work was needed to be done to the original tooling besides the motorcycle to reissue this kit?
  2. Very true and valid. Because of this alot of mom and pop hobby shops are going by the wayside. Inventory; sometimes it doesn't justify having xyz kit on the shelf. That xyz kit that you liked and bought ; chances are it has been sitting for maybe a year on that shelf because you were the only one that bought it. Had the hobby shop owner had ten of those kits, he would have lost money for having that inventory. So, it's justified for that hobby shop owner to place an order for it. Yes, you can get it faster on the internet. Welcome to the world of e-commerce. That's one if the reasons for poor kit inventory , but more supplies, paints, etc.
  3. Interesting perspective. Just add ; the business venture would have to have been taken on a very large scale for it to turn a profit. Probably why no one has aqcuired the business.
  4. Has anyone seen this or tried this before? https://www.culturehustleusa.com/products/mirror?fbclid=IwAR2asEkYju8UfA8SHB4sMiBWanFalIGfFH5L8pqt6FKwPticscPb0hzXohE
  5. I agree.. It's difficult to search for things on this message board and then weeding through pages and pages of info. That's why I posted the topic. It was just to have something fresh and get updated responses. Things change from day to day, somewhere down the road a new topic would have been posted anyway.
  6. It's been about 2 years since Modelhaus closed. Don and Carol retired. Has the business been sold? The only thing I remember is that the son continued with the tire casting part. The business operated for many years. I could only imagine all those molds and casting equipment that are still sitting unused.
  7. Just saw the website. The 1/24 and 1/25 car kits have been marked down from $29.00 to $18.00. How long do these mark downs go for?
  8. I did find it further down on the 2nd page. I like the last part of the above sentence. I beleive instead of chastising someone publicly on the board, it's just better to let it go and move on.
  9. Sir, you don't know me. I did what everyone else did, added a response. This is social media. You have to expect that.
  10. How about putting a link up up so we don't have to search for it. I just clicked on the last page and this came to mind.
  11. I remember when this came out. Not everything was released because of tooling or missing parts issues. 1/25 '70 Dodge Charger W/JL Car 1/25 '69 Dodge Daytona W/JL Car 1/25 '69 Pont Firebird W/JL Car 1/25 '58 Chevy Impala W/JL Car 1/25 Full Throttle '07 Mustang, NT 1/25 Full Throttle '70 Ply Cuda 1/25 Full Throttle '69 Camaro 1/25 '07 Dodge Challenger, NT 1/25 Pontiac GTO Hard Top 1/25 '60 Corvette 1/25 '94 GMC Sonoma 1/25 SNAP, '75 Chevy Blazer 1/25 '71 Mercury Spoiler 1/25 '86 Chevy El Camino 1/25 Super Judge GTO Funny Car 1/25 '53 Ford "Double Flip" Tk 1/25 '28 Ford Woody Pickup 1/25 '68 Dodge Coronet Most of these cars are slated for a 9/30 release, but that will not be happening. These will be throughout the year, and I would bet that some of them may not make it next year.
  12. I had the Snoopy plane back in the 70's. It was motorized, spinning the propeller. For what it is, it's actually a good kit and fun to build.
  13. What about the Emergency 51 squad truck?
  14. Very interesting read here. The brass at Revell should have taken in your advice and expertise in order to go ahead and release the Ford 30A coupe first. Looks like the Roadster went first because that was already decided on much earlier by management and nothing was going to sway that decision. Management like in any industry are going to do what they want to do. Interesting question; how well is the Roadster selling?
  15. I agree with you.
  16. I guess I'm not the only person wanting an all new kit of the 68 Coronet R/T. It's about time for them to do one. The 67 and 69 Coronets are available. The 68 is the missing link. As for that Hobby Search pic with the blue 69 Superbee wit vinyl top; I just think it's only a reference to show a 69 Superbee that's available in kit form. It was mentioned that someone saw it listed as a 1/25 scale kit, which is interesting. I could not find where it states 1/25 scale. Could it be a misprint and Revell meant that it's a 1/24 scale kit? Maybe yes , maybe know. If Revell did decide to to go ahead and retool the 69 Coronet in 1/25 scale that would be great news. I prefer the 1/25 scale kits over the 1/24 scale kits. To add to what CapSat said; to go a step further; the pic shows a 69 Coronet Superbee, but what if that's not even the kit that will be coming out , but instead a 68 Coronet Superbee. Mistakes like that have been made by model kit companies. But, who knows but the model company's product developement people. If we want to see a 68 Coronet R/T or Superbee come out we all need to contact the kit companies and tell them. It's been stated in previous threads that the model kit companies are aware of this, but we still need to voice our requests.
  17. I had the Thunder Bug back in the early 70's. It was actually a nice snap kit. Went together well.
  18. Submerge the engine in Marvel Mystery Oil. That will loosen everything up.. You'll get it running in no time.
  19. I beleive TKM Resins made one back in the 90's.
  20. That's what's fun about reading these posts. Right on about the speculation. Oh, and I love the rumors too. Most of it with no fact to support them. Just like the record player, round and round.
  21. I do the same as you. I do light coats with duplicolor. Never a problem. The same technique I use when doing full scale automotive painting which I have been doing since 85.
  22. I understand the statement you made. My purpose was to take it a step further. I don't know how involved the model kit companies do their market research or testing. I wanted to get input on how they do it. That's why I used your statement. It just turned a light bulb on thinking what a model kit company would do.
  23. Ok. You mentioned 5+ decades of experience, then share what could be the cause?
