  1. Entirely practical choice for picking up two kids from the game and getting groceries on the way home.
  2. Oh yeah- I think it would look great as a luxury car.
  3. That looks like a Testors/Italeri Cadillac V-16 Town Car.
  4. Over Macho Grande. Anyone? Am I that old?
  5. I guess he's over Macho Grande.
  6. I finally sold my '88 Mustang and the '89 drivetrain donor. Now I can yank the Ranger drivetrain and begin a swap using a complete, running 2000 Mercury Mountaineer with a pushrod 5.0. I also plan to totally disassemble the interior and Dynamat the heck out of it. Im so glad the Mustangs are gone. I just lost interest in them.
  7. It was also an episode of Twilight Zone. The main alien was Richard Kiel, who later played "Jaws" in some 1970s James Bond movies. It was also spoofed in The Simpsons. Bart and Lisa found a book in an alien spaceship. The blew some dust off the cover and saw the title "How to cook people" (panic). They blew off some more dust and saw "How to cook for people" (ah. OK.) Then they blew more dust off and saw "How to cook forty people". I saw the TZ episode on the SyFi New Years marathon this year. I remember a scene when the alien visited the UN. someone said to him "We have representatives from most of Earth's major countries". I couldn't help thinking..."and a few of the piss-ant counties, too."
  8. Someone photoshopped out (or simply marked out) the commas.
  9. Fabrizio Violati's car. A photo of that car is the box art and decals for a Protar release of their 250 GTO. I don't know if the model is that exact car.
  10. Gotta build something! I love the lead! I'm cuckoo for candy! I'm passionate about pearl! I've been lost since Custom Clinic disappeared. Greg and Mark- you guys rock!
  11. That sounds good. I was thinking of some sort of clip-on metal heat sink. No reason not to use both. I have "Cool Gel"; a spray gel that we plumbers use when soldering. I suppose I could use it and mix in some shredded paper. I definitely need to get a smaller torch, though. Maybe even break out the resistance soldering outfit I got for a song on eBay. The seller misspelled "resistance" and I got it for $36.
  12. It would definitely be easier to mill a fish mouth onto rod, rather than thin wall brass. My concern would be keeping the heat from melting nearby solder joints. I might need to come up with some sort of heatsink.
  13. The two main hoops will be close to 4.5" o.d. I'm hoping that will be a gentle enough bend for brass. Maybe copper for the smaller hoops. This is not a replica of an existing car, but a model of a lakester I would like to build.
  14. I'll find out. Thank you.
  15. I want to build a brass chassis and need to make a few full circles of 1/4" K&S tubing. It's a large scale lakester chassis. Thanks. Lee
  16. Jim Busby raced a dragster with two of them.
  17. Nice cheesecake. :-)
  18. No, but I saw one on Black Sheep Squadron.
  19. Craigslist transaction. I had a deal to sell two Mustangs to a guy for less than his wanted ad indicated. A day and a half after he was supposed to pick them up, he canceled. He did ask if I would sell my 4" cowl induction hood. NO,YOU STUPID CLOWN! Gee, what is it with Craigslist and flakes???
  20. Tonight's dinner with veggies from the back yard. Sautéed Zucchini with bread crumbs and grated parmesan. Pechuga Poblana; grilled chicken with sautéed poblano peppers and onions, topped with Monterey Jack cheese and green onions...and canned corn. Chicken recipe is a copy of a meal from a local restaurant. Turned out great!
  21. deleted
  22. I have a couple of those Ganbusters Lincolns. I can check to see what they have. I believe there's a Thompson SMG (tommy gun) in there.
  23. I did think of using dentist's chair as an astronomical binocular or telescope mount. Imagine having it fixed in place on a chair that reclines and automatically follows what you're observing. (That feature would have to be built, but it is entirely possible)
  24. Check eBay for a small drill press. You might find some quality old iron. Also look for a Sherline rotary table and tilting angle table. Those two accessories Will let you index the holes and drill them an an angle...but how will you get the wheel "blank"? Just get the Sherline lathe and mill package. It's inevitable <grin>
