  1. It's all in the eyes and mind of the beholder. If I had a gazillion $$$, I would go for it. And the E-type, and the ragtop 'Cuda, and the Cobra Daytona...
  2. D'oh! Clearly, it is very kwite obveeus that I is not a Roads skolar
  3. Tim's got a very good point. So does Harry. If you choose to write to a corporation (or any person or business) and wish to be taken seriously, you should, at the very least, use the spell check and grammar tools that are standard with just about any word processing software. Or, proofread your text before you hit "send". There is no requirement to be a Rhoads scholar, but at least get the name of the company correct... AMY?
  4. No, we don't hear of combat aircraft being recalled. But, while lives can be involved, those are lives of people who (like myself) voluntarily accept the possibility of losing one's life while performing your daily duties in the line of serving your country. Not many civilians consciously consider the fact that "Well, my car might $%^ up on the way to work and I could buy the farm but that's what I signed up for". And, while it might not be true today, the DOD used to squeeze out the less-desirable manufacturers- when was the last time you heard of a Curtiss, Brewster or Wright-built military aircraft?
  5. My wife mentioned something she heard this morning and I just "verified"(Googled) on CNN money( or whatever .com) - Chrysler recalled 696,000 minivans and SUVs for ignition switch problems that are similar to those in the GM 2.6 million vehicle recall. Now, I did not do any more research on this situation so I don't know any particulars, but I wonder if the manufacturer/supplier of those switches in question is the same- and I wonder what is the geographical origin of the switches.
  6. So I'll buy the LX kit, warts and all, and I am a Mopar guy. Heck, I'll even buy one or both versions of the 'Cuda, warts and all. I'm getting too old to sit around and wait for the perfect kit and I'm certainly not going to re-engineer each kit that I do have in my stash that might have a flaw or three. Maybe for a contest model, yeah. But for my shelves only? Nahhhh. And believe me, I can be just as picky as anyone else, but there comes a time in life when you realize that nothing, no one, no where is perfect ...
  7. Shaun, I think those side lights were used on the '69 Mopars. The '68's had little, round side lights.
  8. They were omitted from the instructions.
  9. That looks good. Love that color combination.
  10. Very cool! Looks like something that could have been in Car Model magazine back then.
  11. Yeah, the headlights and grille look great.
  12. Certainly can't hurt. I've been building for 53 years and I still read articles about the basic skills. You know what little point you might have been missing for so long; just one little, basic thing- that "AHA!" moment. Go for it and thanks for doing it!
  13. LOL! I try to limit the spending, this way, when I do drop $75.00 on supplies alone- no kits involved-, it doesn't seem like such a big hit.
  14. Hope to be there with... 3 Mustangs this year.
  15. Nice truck. Very clean, not overdone.
  16. Ray, I have read that some people give chrome headlights a thin coat of white glue. If you don't like it, it should peel right off.
  17. That's nice for a box stock and I like the fact that you used the One Coat right over the bare plastic. Isn't that the way we all did it at one time? The essence of car modeling, in one model. Very cool.
  18. I've heard it said that: "A person is smart; people are stupid." I don't know what kind of news coverage this latest incident got, but in my opinion, it should get as much as possible, even more so than the situations overseas. This is an American corporation that doesn't seem to care about the lives of it's customers/consumers and it should be beaten over the head with that info constantly until something substantial, tangible and positive is done for their customers, who are taxpaying American citizens.
  19. Be careful if you use the canned air- it can come out with a lot of pressure and do some damage, so give it a few test shots, first.
  20. Thanks for the compliments. Rob, I have a '72 GMC pickup bed trailer in the works, but it has a bit of a warp to it. I'm not holding my breath for that one but I'm not gonna give up on it.
  21. Very nice build of an unusual subject. The box looks great. Would be great as a basis for a diorama.
  22. Rats! I already spent my model budget for this month...
  23. A couple more... ">http:// Sorry that's a little blurry- make believe you're squinting from the glare. ">http://http://s889.photobucket.com/user/jbuzz710/media/Super%20Stock%20Dodges/100_5436.jpg.html'> I wish I had taken the above shot of the black car on the same surface as the rest, but that's how it goes.
